u what!!
-
Well what to say about this concert it was quite simply mind-blowing, i was at Hammesmith and i thought that was great but it really wasn't a patch on Manchester, i mean it just had it all. To get to meet a cpl of u guys from the forum ruled aswell, Dory and Sofika i hope to see both of u again and Grimo it sucked that we didn't get to meet up as planned. Oh and Nadine cheers for the txt well iw as stood right behind ya hehe.
Starting with Jungle, Easy and Brownstone the pit was intense everyone surging forward and going nuts (me included) it was 100 times more intense then Hammersmith and was like it for the whole set, i was getting crushed but lets face it you just don't care when you are watching GUNS N' FUCKIN' ROSES.
Better was 1 of the best songs of the night and was the song that i went craziest for jumping up and down and singing my heart out, i seemed to be the only 1 to know the words of the people around me and at the end 1 guy asked me what song that was so i tild him and he was like that song is fucking amazing .
Best solo of the night has to go to Mr Richard Fortus it was simply electrifying, Ron although there was a fuck up when he was gonna start his Don't Cry solo when there was no sound on the guitar or the mic was brilliant and the crowd were singing along. Finck and Fortus's version of Beautiful was well beautiful and was well recieved.
I WAS KINDA TOLD OFF BY AXL TOO HAHA. When he said something like continuing with introductions i screamed out for Izzy and then got a chant going for Izzy with the people around me to which Axl replied don't spoil it , although had it not of been Izzy i think i would of got a kicking lol. Too see Izzy was simply amazing and i just can't describe what it felt like to actually be there to see him on stage with Axl
:xmasssanta: .
The end of the show was brilliant IRS, My Michelle, Madagascar and Paradise City for the encore i mean you just can't beat that, so to put it simply it was the BEST CONCERT OF THE TOUR YET.

Just to add the whole band were on top form everyone giving 100% and Axl welll the man is just out of this fucking world when he is on the stage.
god yea the pit was mental and soo fun, someone fell over me as I had to tie my lace up lmao..
ah that was u haha I wondered what went on then although I think everyone knew it was Izy
and I was another singing along with Better, was the only one in my area of the crowd too lol, what an ace show!!
-
yea I was there and it was the best night of my life. For a complete full review, maybe even abit long go to www.myspace.com/xron_returns and click on the top blog on the right hand side titled GNR i think
-
Oh my god, Morrisey is awfull. He sounds like someones dad doing kareoke.
haha sooo true
-
HMV announced the same date and made it available to order but then said due to the suppliers not being unavailable it was cancelled.
-
yea defo I hope he does too lol
-
definately hope so, how bout July 26th instead lol
-
i cannot wait for this album but when i buy it i will listen to it over and over again
yeh think I'll be the same!!
-
nah doubt it, I mean why would he and not mention it in all the other dates
-
yea since then he's posted again saying that his account has been hacked...hmm who cares tho lol
-
Izzy's appearances are referred to as "guest appearances". but, doesn't it seem like he's intent on hanging around for a while? i'd sure be one happy dude if he does stick around. but i imagine he and Axl have a "you're welcome to do this as long as you want to and you can leave anytime you want to" kind of deal in place. i don't think Izzy wants to commit to anything, but i think he's having a fucking blast with the guys. it also seems like everybody in the band, including Axl, are enjoying him just as much.
What do y'all think? will he be around for the US tour? also, doesn't his presence put a little water on the "this ain't the real GNR" fire? i mean, with Izzy, Axl, and Dizzy, you got 1/2 the UYI line-up. i hope he's still with them when they come to Dallas/Fort Worth. i've never attended an Izzy-less show. it would be nice to keep that streak going.
yeh that's what I was thinkin: with 3 original members it should stop people saying that as VR also have 3
-
yes but then if no one turned up to the shows Axl would think that no one wanted new music or cared bout the band like in 2002 and so the album would never come out.

What I really want to see on Chinese D is a piano song like November Rain (I believe This I Love is that song) and an accustic song along the lines of Patience.
WHY?!? we already got The Blues and Catcher In The Rye...
The last thing we need is another ballad.
my thoughts exactly... bring on more songs like Out To Get Me and Nightrain!!! then again that is living in the past but as long as there are some rocking tunes and the majority sounding what I perceive as good then I'll be happy
-
that's nice of him to respond to all the bullshit that's goin around nowadays.
-
I knew things were not falling apart.
u what lol?

You can't measure the feel of someone's playing. You can only measure the feeling it gives you. And some players are better at creating those reactions in people than others...

there are a lot of songs I miss being played and it's well hard to say which I liked the most... for crowd interaction it's Jungle and Easy, just cos I was in the middle at the front n it was a great experience. For performance I liked nightrain, paradise city, and Better was played really well. November rain was a beautiful song played with pure emotion. Think my fav song was Out T Get Me tho. Howver all the above was just what I expected lol
-
ah yea the singalong, that was magical. I've never really been fond of KOHD but after last night it really changed my mind

Just got back from Manchester and I have to say, WOW! The set-list was brilliant, the stage, the pyro, the lot, and to top it all Izzy made yet another appearance. Most of all though, the performances were flawless, You Could Be Mine and Better being my personal favourites. The only gripe I have is the solos. Robin's were very boring and I didn't know whether to laugh or cry during Beautiful. All in all though a memorable experience despite the obvious wait and the heat.
The main point I want to make though is that it finally hit home to me how wrong some forum members have been about Axl over the last month or so. The Sweden and Newcastle incidents made many question how long the tour would last and saw people berating Axl before waiting to see his reactions. Well I have to say his reactions have been spot on and he's proved that finally he IS in it for the long-haul. Just compare 2006 with 2002. Axl looks happy on stage, he's joking with the band, interacting with the crowd, looking better, singing perfectly, and showing all the moves which made him so big in the first place. This is in great contrast with 2002 when he looked like he was on stage simply because he HAD to be, not because he WANTED to be. There is a marked difference and I'm confident that come November we may get what we finally want, though there is of course no guarantee!
In general, I don't think anyone can complain with how things are going, this is the longest tour since 91-93 and it shows no signs of coming to an end. I'd just like to finish by saying what a great band this is turning out to be. Again, where the chemistry was none existent in 2002, it's certainly there now. The sight of them all rocking out together during the heavy part of Better was great to see. It finally feels and looks like a band rather than just a load of individulals thrown together on a stage. Also witness them taking a bow at the end of the gig...
I have to agree once again... and don't forget the british flag during patience It was great to feel that Axl was enjoying himself and appreciating us being there by interacting and thanking us 4 or 5 times during the show. Axl's reputation could make you think that he doesn't give a shit and just goes on plays some songs sometimes n buggers off but that is the most ignorant view anyone can take especially since this tour has kicked off.... must be the roast lamb dinners

I don´t know.. I din´t either liked Robin first when I heard some bootlegs from the 2001-2002 tour.
But the man have growned on me. I think he´s pretty good now, and that I.R.S solo kick ass, or some parts of it does.. Especially the first half of it and the end when he hold those tunes. He´s an emotional player and that makes him a great compliment to the band. We have BbF with technical skills but less emotion, which Robin has. And we have my favourite Richard that has both of those skills.
I would describe them:
Bumble:
Technical skills: 9/10
Emotion: 5/10
Robin
Technical skills: 4/10
Emotions: 7/10
Richard
Technical skills: 7/10
Emotion: 7/10
Disagree there. I was right by Ron many times last night and holy fuck was his playing something special. He has a different style to the others which doesn't look as passionate, but man, it is. His solo is a thing of beauty.
I agree that Robin has lots of passion, but Fortus and Ron wipe the floor with him technically. Shove Fortus on lead for the big solos. He's the best all-rounder out of the 3.
yea defo agree.. Ron puts alot of energy, enthusiasm and passion into his solos but it doesn't come across as much as Robin because of the difference in style. I think all 3 guitarists played really well last night but I have noticed they change the solos and improvise a lot which bugs me as I like doin me air guitar to the exact solo I'm used to hearing on record lol
-
that was a kickass performance all round n unexpected for that song to be included for the first time in the UK tour (i think)
but yea what a night!!!
-
course its not axl haha... doesnt even look like him
-
i went to this gig at the MEN and it was probably the most fantastic of my life. i've wanted to see gnr for years, and when i used to listen to them in my room as a whipper-snapper i never in a million years thought i would get the chance.
it was well worth the wait - even dizzy got in on the action! axl was still pulling all the moves, you'd have thought it was 1986!
personal highlight for me was patience - axl wrapped in a union jack flag - FANTASTIC.
only criticism - no estranged, don't damn me or get in the ring.
still, awesome!!
yea thats exactly how I felt about last night... really enjoyed nightrain, the opening trio, and better.
was constantly bout 6 people back and got to 2 people from the front for the encore
-
Is it official or just another cheap way for a nobody buisness to make some money?
It says Collectors Boxset.
I've seen that once or twice when i've been in HMV. It's nothing new, its not even live performances. It's basically an extended documentary. With Interviews from people who are "close" to the band and musicians from around their era. it sounds interesting but nothing we don't already know.
ah that explains it then thanks
