I think street of dreams its a great way to connect with the fans that are doubting what this album is all about. If it was my choice, the single would be TWAT...but thats just a personal opinion. There are greater songs in this album than SOD but i guess this might be the right move (if they promote it way better than th other 2 singles or even this album). After that, when the road is set, they can release an instant classic like TWAT, Catcher or Sorry.

There are parts of Sorry's lyrics that are childish, but other parts are great, and its a great tune in my opinion. Oh, and those parts we think are childish, are in the same theme as GITR or SB (in here with a little more class), and I fucking love those songs and lyrics. So, why this mixed feelings? Maybe just because im not the same age, living the same dramas i was when i first listened to those UYI tunes. Its all about who listens and when...

SOD is the most recognizably GNR track on the album.

It's like something off UYI and sounds like the most commercial thing on the album. Perfect for playing on the radio or sports car stereos.

But am I the only one that thinks its odd that the only evidence of this single that exists is a newbie on a message board.

No, single listed on industry and radio websites, no mention on the GNR website, or the myspace, HTGTH, no radio station announcement or radio station website anywhere in the U.S. - it just don't add up.

Even if someone uploaded a radio edit, it don't mean dick. (computers are excellent for editing audio tracks)

I have heard the original leaks of Chin Dem edited so that the AIM noises were gone, what does a bad quality radio edit prove?

First of all, I'm not the one who put the radio edit on youtube, so i guess, obviously, someone else has the promo single like I do...cause the radio edir, altough its low quality, has the same cuts as i have in mine (that i remind you, came from Universal directly to my hands.

Second, I may not post a lot, specially here, but just check out my username in chinesedemocracy.com or htgth. I f the posts werent deleted, you will see i was the first to confirm that universal had an official release date of november, and the first to have CD in my hands! Im not a liar, and sure as hell im not a newbie

I call fake. Take a Picture with a high res camera or something. A 5th grader could do that in paint.

You just have to understand how often people (used to) post fake artwork, etc.; I guess I've become more cynical. Wasn't intended as an insult towards you. I think as Allen said, at this point it wouldn't make sense to be creating fakes anymore.

That being said, I have to say, I think the artwork is pretty shoddy looking...

I know the GnR fans are used to a lot of bs...i know its hard to believe stuff. I also was surprised when this showed up at the the record company, since noone was taoling about a new single...but hey, it is here...i dont know it it is the right choice or not...and we desperatly need a video!

No right, but I mean is the solo cut, is the ending part cut.

The piano part in the beggining is cut short about 11 seconds. And the piano part around 3.37 only has 4 or 5 seconds.

I really think it looks like her too. I personally do like the image. I'm a smoker, so I have a few wallpapers that are simular to this I use for my moods. I like Bai Ling as well. She's quirky and strange and has the balls just to be herself even though the press picks on her so much. She's actually a great choice for a model for Axl. If not fake, it makes a cool statement about his character for me.

SOD wouldn't be my choice either. But, my best friend would disagree. I do think it's a good transition song - connects the old with the new. I guess I mean somewhat like a bridge between the two. It's the one that could make those that have the impression that CD would be too far removed from old Guns for their taste go, "Wait a minute. I though Axl dumped the old Guns style. Maybe I should have judged for myself." Who knows though.

I was just thinking that if she is dating Mickey Rourke (which i didnt know), it makes sense to have her helping out. Axl gave sweet child to the move ""the wrestler", and that maybe made it easy for them to point in the same direction and having a chinese symbol like her with all she symbolizes as a person (as you were saying) promoting the GnR Album

On the other hand, someone could simply be exploiting Axl's connection to Mickey Rourke/The Wrestler in order to make a legitimate-looking fake...

cmon, i hope i dont have to say this again...this came directly from Universal's office, so unless universal is joking around...of course this is legit, the only problem is that people always like to complicate.

What do you do in the music business to get promos from universal?

I do some studies about creativity in music composers, musical movements, etc...but thats not the reason i get promos. I'm very well connected in the music industry and thats how i get promos and albuns..

The promotional single has a distorted image of a chinese woman smoking in the cover.

Maybe it isn't fake.

The woman sure seems to me to be Bai Ling, Mickey R's current squeeze.

I don't think this would be a bad choice for a single. This is the most old school sounding of the new tracks.

As for the TIL question. I think yes, he'd get ripped by some idiots if he released it as a single. But, if he'd hook up with the Twight folks and released it with the New Moon movie, he'd sell MILLIONS of copies. I can't really imagine him doing that though. He does a good job of keeping the GnR image up. I think there would have to be a young woman in his life like a niece or something who was in love with the series to go for it. My daughter sure would be happy though.

The text on the pamphlet looks like it was done in Paint. Also, I don't think radio promos usually have artwork on the discs...

thats a bit ignorant...i could send you pictures of all the promos I have...but then again, why bother. Believe it if you want..i know its the real deal, its directly from the record company...and i dont think they are faking it

Street of Dreams is the next single right? I have the promotional single since last week. Its strange cause I did a quick search in the GnR foruns and no one is talking about this...or is it just my impression? The promotional single has a distorted image of a chinese woman smoking in the cover.

I know that part of this poor numbers is that Fnac, our biggest store, refused to buy the usual stock they buy for a big cd when it comes out. They only bought like a 1000 to the lisbon area, and most of the Fnac stores sold out CD in the first 2 days!! Why they didnt buy more for this first week sales, im not sure, but maybe its something related to their cash flow for the end of the month of November.

Apart from this, we all know that we have no video, we have no interview from Axl...and that doesnt help either!
