The inclusion of one of his songs in The Conversation added a lot to that film.

Okay, I didn't know who this guy was either, but he's a music critic from LA (I think) with an official website and so on. He is friends with Tommy Stinson and has known him for over twenty years.

He began posting on HTGTH this evening. He used to be in a band 23 years ago and posted a video of him singing Patience on YouTube. (His profile is: http://www.youtube.com/user/BrettMeisner.)

Tommy showed the video to Axl and said Axl kept laughing and showed it to other people and said it was his "competition."

Anyway, he said November 28th is the set release date for Chinese Democracy.

I'd take this with a grain of salt but the guy can back up his claims of a connection with Tommy and apparently Tommy was the one who told him 28th is the release date (at least that's what he implied).

That's why they need strong promotion. A video, a single, interviews, live performances (Leno, Letterman?), etc. Old GN'R did this and New GN'R needs to do it, too. A Leno performance wouldn't be demeaning and he gets many, many viewers. Axl could be the guest for the evening. No, I'm not joking. Many respectable artists have performed on Leno and late night circuits.

Merck was making a dig at the fans who are bitching about promotion.

Trust me, there's no way in hell they are going to release a $13 million dollar + album without any promotion or advance notice. It just isn't going to happen.

The GN'R fan forums have a large number of regulars but all of us combined wouldn't provide enough sales to warrant a profit. They have to appeal to people outside of this circle of fans and they can't do that without promotion of some type of hype.

I think they're going to drop Better as a single, start their tour, and continue promotion until it's out in late November.

This is one of the great rock albums of all-time.

I think his/their music videos are some of the creepiest out there! "Come to Daddy" is horrific. I love the music, though!

I am from HTGTH and would like to say to all the people that are "bashing" the forum - we are only refraining from discussing the ad because Merck personally asked us not to. Apparently this was supposed to be kept a secret until the commercial was actually aired. But seriously, stop acting like it's a communist party over there.

When there's been two instances of debate being banned on information that is already in the public domain within a week, can you be surprised when people say that they're acting like communists? GN'R fans have stayed loyal to the band and have taken a lot of crap and we deserve better than this contemptuous attitude from management. If jarmo had a pair of balls, instead of being a worthless little assclown who gets his thrills from hiding behind his computer and banning people, he would have refused to do this.

I understand what you're saying, but HTGTH was on Sanctuary servers, and because of this Jarmo is basically forced to do what Merck says. If he doesn't, they'd cut ties with the forum.

I didn't want to turn this into a flame war between two different forums - I just find it sad that fans are bashing OTHER FANS. Because the people on HTGTH are fans just like you and I, and we've all been waiting a long time for this.

Personally, I think Merck is the one who is at fault. He personally told Jarmo to not let anyone discuss the topic. I mean, I don't see what the point is, but I suppose with time all will be understood!

The guy who sent it to him actually spoke to me, and he definitely doesn't have a studio track or it would be all over the 'net by now.

This guy was passing this off as an "exclusive" new song - obviously he knew it was just the demo, though, so he was kinda lying. Especially if he tinkered with it himself. I think the chorus was fooled around with, it sounded like there were more voices.

They have NEITHER. It has been CONFIRMED that this is just a fan-remixed version of the demo, sent to the DJ this morning. He said he "stole it." IT IS NOT OFFICIAL.

And yes, I just spoke to the guy who sent it to the DJ and he said the DJ cleaned it up more and that's why the vocals sound a bit different. He sent him the ImSorry Remix and I guess the DJ DID know it was a demo but decided to clean it up and pass it off as the final song.

I don't like the song. Too repetitive for something with no catch. She's got a great voice obviously, but so do a lot of other people. I've been desensitized to these kinds of vocals. Just ain't distinct enough to keep me interested.

I personally like early Jessica Simpson better. Before she was a joke, she seemed like a really classy and talented broad. 'I Wanna Love You Forever' is a great song.
