You're right about Pearl Jam - I was at that show, but I completely forgot that they ran pretty late, too! Good to know!

Actually, I live in Kanata and it is part of the City of Ottawa now that the City almalgamated in 2003. But you're absolutely right - I think the problem in 1987 was that it was an outdoor concert. Ottawa has some strict bylaws on outdoor events, but I can't see that impacting a concert inside an arena.

I am SO excited for GNR next Friday. I've been a fan since I was 10 and this will be the fist time that I get to see them in concert!! I've been hearing that GNR have been going on pretty late and I'm wondering if anyone is worried that Scotiabank Place won't let them play that late? I thought Ottawa had some strict bylaws on the time that concerts have to end...but maybe I'm totally out of it! On the Scotiabank website, it specifically says that the show will be over at 11:00 - but I highly doubt that will happen! Does anyone think it will be a problem?

Any thoughts/insight would be great!
