  1. Got my new Classic Rock magazine through this morning, lots of GNR articles so I suggest you pick it up.

Anyway, page 12 says something along the lines.

"Axl attempted to re-unite the band with Slash, Duff, Izzy and Matt Sorum, for 2 shows in the UK one at Download Festival and one at Hammersmith, both would be filmed for a DVD and Live CD and all members would make millions each, all parties were interested in this reunion, but before they could sign on the dotted line, one of the members lawyers noticed in the fine print that it said by agreeing to these terms and conditions the rights and back catalogue of Guns N' Roses would go to Axl Rose, this halted all negotiations however rumours have still flied, we won't know what's happened until Download itself arrives"

that's pretty sleazy on axl's part if it's true.

  2. No, that's not it.

People rip Axl for a million different reasons, but the main 2 are:

    1. Gn'R and Axl Rose are a popular name and a lot of people like to try to be different by hating anything that's popular. I can't tell you how many people say "Oh Guns sucks!" and I say, "How many of the albums have you listened to?" "None..." A lot of people don't give anything "popular" a chance, which is retarded, obviously. You shouldn't hate something just because that something knows how to market. More than 1/2 of the people who say they hate Axl or GnR would fucking LOVE them if they were percieved to be "underground".

    2. Another group of people used to LOVE guns. These people wore GnR shirts, saw them as their identity, etc.. and when Axl disappeared and Guns disbanded, it let these people down. So, they're pissed off at him. He hurt them

    3. And then another group of haters just genuinely dislike the guy, his voice, what he stands for, whatever.

  3. I like Better and Twat a lot.

IRS is okay... I think it's kinda corny how the chorus is, "gonna call the president, gonna call a private eye...etc..." but I like everything else about it.

as far as the 'old' new songs...

I like The Blues and Mad. oh and OMG.

  4. definitely. a friend of mine burned a CD and she happened to put GN'R on there - the "salt of the earth" performance RS did with Guns. I've heard it and seen it a million times but I can't get over how much BETTER Axl's voice is than Mick Jagger's. Also, if you watch the performance, you'll see how much more groove and stage presence Axl has. Mick is supposed to be a rock GOD, but Axl blows him away - hands down. Even if you like the Stones better, you'd have to admit that... well I guess you don't have to, but I can't imagine anyone saying Mick does a better job.

I was listening to the Howard Stern interview with Axl and Sebastian Bach not too long ago and Axl's just so much fuckin cooler than Baz. Than anybody! Slash is awesome, don't get me wrong, but imo he goes out of his way to seem as laid back as possible and constantly throws in the same phrases like, "all things considered..." or "sort of". Baz was trying to steal the spotlight and get the attention back on himself & Howard kept saying, "put Axl back on..." or "what's Axl doing?"

Anyway, it's little things like that that make me proud of Axl. No one can touch his voice and he's not a fucking media whore. Pure talent. Doesn't need any other gimmicky shit.
