I hate, hate, hate Live Era.
* The album cover shows all the posters from the club days with Adler, but the overwhelming majority of the tracklist is from the Illusion tour with Sorum on drums.
* Bad track selection. Where was "Civil War"? Where was "Live and Let Die"? Where was "Double Talkin' Jive"?
* Axl's studio recorded vocals are weak compared to the actual raspy live performances. I like rasp.
* Timing of the release. Why release in 1999 when no one cared anymore? Would have made more sense to come out in 1994.

Axl hates UYI.
Too many bad memories of the band and from his own personal life during the time period. Remember how many years it took Axl to start playing more songs from the UYI albums when he came out of hiding?
I wouldn't expect much from any UYI anniversary release. A lot of stuff was probably lost in the UMG 2008 fire. We could still get the remastered album & some "Estranged" dolphin car decals for $1,000 if we behave ourselves.

Give it to someone in Russia. The shit would be online in 15 minutes.

Duff is now like that history teacher you had in high school, who would join the yearly school trip and tell cringeworthy stories in order to simulate "being cool" to the kids.
"Tell us more, master gerard"
"Ok, one more then. You know what I once did? I once purposely forgot my swimming gear back when I was still a school kid, so I could skip swimming lessons. I was a real badass back then".
"wooow, you're the man, master gerard"
"yeah, you could say I was. And remember, don't start smoking kids. Smoking is bad for you"
PUNK AS FUCK

It's always amateur hour when it comes to these GNR leaks.
The Russians should have handled this.

Why the hell did Axl leave all the cool songs off CD?
-
The best song Axl's done since 1991.

I think I already have.
I still bust out a UYI "deep cut" every now and then, but I've heard all these songs thousands of times.
I have no desire to sit down and listen to an entire GNR album.

I'm well aware.
It doesn't mean what you're implying.
We don't really know.
Everyone on this board would rather listen to Jackie Chan than Scraped but that made CD.
So by your logic, it's worse than Scraped.
It could be. You never know.
From the small clip of "I.R.S." that surfaced in 2005, you'd think it was a vicious rocker. When the complete song leaked, the song was something entirely different.

Probably but who knows.
Beta said they had 48 songs in 2001. Axl said they had 35 songs in 2006.
That's about as official as you're gonna get.
In November '99, Axl told Kurt Loder the band was working on 70 songs.
Notice how the number got smaller and smaller over the years.

Can you imagine if Axl had done this?
If his last public appearance was the January 1994 performance with Bruce Springsteen at the Rock Hall of Fame and we didn't see him again until April 2016 at the Troubadour, that would have been surreal?

There wasn't any word on the tracklist for CD2 because there is no such thing as CD2.
The songs on the 2008 album were the "A List."
If Axl Rose was sitting on a collection of great songs, do you think the label would refuse to release them?
Don't delude yourself, folks.

It's about 10 years too late, but better late than never.
If you want your CD fix, you can always swing by the Dollar Tree and pick up a copy for $1.

@RecipeForDisaster84 I can't believe you're not mad at all. I would've sued them or something.
In that design contest it says to "respect copyright." Like TB did right?
Dude should have totally sued them. If the roles were reversed, do you think TB would hesitate to sue him?

No. Everything we've heard from it sounds absolutely atrocious to me and the CD songs go over like a fart in the elevator at the live shows. Don't go backwards.
When I saw the band, "This I Love" was my piss break song.

Youtube has made us lazy and soft.
Why don't we just go back to how we got cool tapes back in the 80s/90s?

The HOLY GRAIL is August 3, 1991 (4 hour show!) PRO SHOT video.
It's not even close.

I just picture this clown every night sitting down at his desktop with Windows 95 still cranking away, cracking open a Henry’s Hard Soda and then watching all the forums like pedophile scoping out an elementary school.
Walker Alford lives a sad existence.
Keep him in your prayers.

I can't help wondering as we are coming up to 30 years, if you gave 1988 Guns N Roses a run down of where they would be in 2017, what would they have to say about themselves?

This is the talked about epic known as "Atlas Shrugged"?
Sounds really mediocre and uninspired.
