If Finck smashed Bumbles Foot guitar... My Prayers have been answered!!
-
That's hilarious!! Definitely the best song that Linkin Park never wrote.
-
Richard and Robin have charisma. They won't truly be able to shine and get their due until CD comes out though. Bumble just doesn't have charisma, he appears like he would fit perfectly in Megadeth.
-
Bucket and Slash both possessed a kind of charisma that Bumble just doesn't have. Slash and Bucket had that Star quality. Bumble is a good guitar player but he's not a star unfortunately.
-
Kerrang is a magazine for stupid Mullet Heads so who gives a fuck what they think.
-
They need to get Bucket back as he's friends with Bootsy Collins. They could get a whole G Funk, Gunsadelic stage show happening. Axl's into the funk right now as he's singing a little James Brown. Axl singing the "Big Payback" with the Funkadelic army backing him up would be killer.
-
The new leaks sound like they needed exactly what Bucket added to them. Bucket's solo on TWAT fucking owns. I pray to god that Axl doesn't let Bumble rerecord them.
-
Until Chinese Democracy comes out Slash is going to be mentioned in any thread about GnR's guitarists. These guitar players are all covering Slash's and Izzy's work. Once the album comes out people will be more able to accept Finck, Fortus, and Thal as GnR's new guitar players.
-
The problem with these lists is that they don't take songwriting into account. Bucket and Bumble are great technical players but nobody will be listening to their music in 20 years. People will still be listening to Welcome to The Jungle and Whole Lotta Love though.

I think Axl will have the full growl back by the end of this tour. I saw the opening show at the Hammerstein and I was fucking blown away by how good he sounded. I think that's the best his voice has sounded so far this tour. I don't think his voice has quite recovered from blowing it out opening night. Axl just has to quit drinking, go back to his herbal elixers, and his voice will be fine. I expect him to be howling like a motherfucker by the time he starts the Chinese Democracy tour in the fall. Maybe this tours soul purpose is to get Axl's voice back in game shape. If he can do the MTV awards and howl like a banshee that would go along way to restoring his image here in North America.
-
The solos are entirely so Axl can rest his voice. I like solos when they are used to extend a song, like Jimmy Page on Dazed and Confused. Rio was excessive with all the individual solos I thought. The guys in the band should jam on some cover tunes or just jam on some Illusion Era GnR. These individual solos that Axl has them doing are boring as hell and are momentum killers.

Here's why I picked Bucket overall. This version of nightrain seals it for me.

If you have to compare Bumble to Slash and Bucket here's how it goes. Songwriting, until we hear CD goes to Slash hands down, with Bucket in second, Bumble a distant third. As far as Charisma on stage, it's a toss up between Bucket and Slash for me. Slash has got the whole Keith Richards/Ron Wood smoke dangling out of his mouth, fucked up thing down pat. Bucket has his sci-fi spaceman, robot dancing, num chuck thing. Bumble moves around alright but he doesn't have that intangible thing that makes you a star. For technical ability and live playing I have to go with Bucket, followed by Bumble, and Slash in third. Slash like Finck has a tendency to hit a few bum notes unfortunately. When it comes down to coolness of guitars, I have to go with Bucket, followed by Slash, and Bumble coming in third. The flying V KFC guitar just fucking rocks. Slash has a nice collection of Les Pauls and unfortunately Bumble has a foot guitar. Bucket is the clear winner followed by Slash in second and Bumble a distant third.

For those who were at the show were you pissed off that they didn't play TWAT, Madagascar, and Chinese Democracy or were you going solely to hear the old material?

Pearl Jam is a good band. Eddie Vedder is the only one in the band with any charisma, so it's tough to compare them to GnR. GnR had the classic combo of Axl/Slash whereas Pearl Jam just has Eddie. Oasis is a far better comparison band as they have the classic combo of Noel and Liam. Noel, Liam, and Axl are old school rockstars with swagger and style. There is far more similarities between GnR and Oasis than GnR and Pearl Jam.
Fuck that shit. GN'R cant be compared with Pearl Jam or Oasis. GN'R are way fucking better than PJ or Oasis. U ask even non GNR fans, like metalheads or bikers and theyll say that bands like PJ or Oasis are pussy shit bands and GN'R stands out because of their attitude, aggressiveness and punk attitude, just being so volatile. (im talking about the vintage GN'R, but still even now PJ's got nothing on GN'R.)
Metalheads or Bikers would say Pearl Jam and Oasis are pussy bands... That's a shocking revelation!! I would have never figured that. Luckily society is made up of more groups of people then just Metalheads and Bikers. Axl likes Oasis and Pearl jam, so I guess he's a fucking pussy by your reasoning.

That guitar looks like something that Spinal Tap would use. Covering XTina and playing foot guitars make the new GnR look and sound like a joke. Buckets image didn't bother me as it was kind of cool in a sci-fi way but Bumbles guitar is straight out of Spinal Tap.
-
It sounds good but then when you realize they're covering an XTina song it makes your stomach wrench. It just bothers me that they're covering a song like that. It's just not cool in my books and frankly it is embarrassing. Captain A needs to tell them to pick another song and he needs to tell Bumble to lose the foot guitar.

Chris Pittman was the driving force on the internet audio feed yesterday.
-
I think Robin would be better at rhythm guitar. He is the least technically skilled guitar player in the new band. I see Robin as the Izzy of the new band in the sense that I think Robin and Axl are the driving creative forces behind the new GnR.

Preach on Brother. I'm gettin Drunk as fuck!

Bumble was definitley better then when I saw him opening night. He'll never be as good as Bucket, but I feel I can accept that. I guess I just have too high of expectations of this band. I have a shirt that says Chinese Democracy from 4 years ago, yet this band is still out promoting Appetite for Destruction. I guess i'm just fucking sick of it.
-
I'm not some Newbie who hates this band. I spent over a thousand dollars to go to NY to see them opening night, which was a kickass show. In my opinion tonight sucked. I'm pissed off they didn't at least play Chinese Democracy, Madagascar, and TWAT.

That was such a lame show. I thought RIR meant a lot to Axl... Guess Not! Only 2 new songs and the Blues were played from the new bands catalogue. I thought RIR was supposed to be the big launch for the new band? Axl's making these guys look like a glorified cover band. I hope Tommy doesn't feel bad that Axl didn't give him a bass solo tonight. Sorry guys, I'm just choked at how pathetic that show was.
Finck and Bumblefoot had a fight on the stage today

I have a feeling that Finck is the Izzy of the new guns. I think he's probably contributed the most in the songwriting department and Axl's rewarded him with the lead guitar slot. That must be the reason, because Bumble and Richard are both better live players.
