Per Springsteen's FB page...not a new album... BUT, NEW MUSIC!
"On April 19th, Bruce Springsteen will release AMERICAN BEAUTY, a special Record Store Day 12" vinyl EP featuring four previously unreleased original songs that were considered for Bruce's most recent album High Hopes."

Really crispy bacon is like an overcooked steak. Don't do it.

Greatest live band in the world. They've only played roughly 8/9 shows this tour (too lazy to count), and they've already played approximately 100 different songs. Take notes, Axl. Bruce releases music every year, varies his setlist, is in amazing shape, releases bootlegs, and does anything else you'd want your favourite artist to do. I love this man. He's truly the best.

No Waitin' On A Sunny Day! It's a Christmas Day miracle.

Highway to Hell into Badlands into Adam Raised A Cain. DAMN.

Full album shows were GREAT. I went to the last two shows at the old Spectrum in Philly. Back to back nights, Born to Run one night, Born in the USA the next. I can't stand Born In The USA and its poppy overuse of the synth, but it was still neat to see all the way through in concert. Plus I'll never complain about being guaranteed My Hometown in any show, even at the cost of shit like I'm Goin' Down, Dancing in the Dark, and Cover Me.
Full album shows were indeed great. My favourite was still Greetings in Buffalo in 2009. Not to mention it was Clarence's last show. That show will always hold a special place in my heart. Glad I made that trip to Buffalo.
Couldn't be more jealous. My highest point that tour was the first Higher And Higher, a sign request after Born to Run at the last Philly show. It wound up being the show-closer for every show for the rest of the tour, including the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame 25th Anniversary show, and I got to see the band make it up on the spot.
That's so awesome! Higher and Higher was such a great song in the encores that tour...I don't think he played it once on the Wrecking Ball tour... maybe Bruce will break it out every now and then on the High Hopes tour hopefully... it's a classic.

Say what you want about the drum loops, but Aniello is a hell of a lot better at mixing than BoB. Magic is one of Bruce's best records and the production is awful. Aniello is a great producer from a pure audio standpoint.
Agreed. Magic is my favourite post-Reunion era album, but like you said, the production is friggin horrible.

Bruce on Fallon tonight. Apparently playing three songs off the album and doing a skit with Jimmy. Should be fun.

Well... the tour wasn't announced today, but there was one date that came out... May 3 New Orleans JazzFest. Still expecting more North American dates to come out pretty soon. Been savin' up to see him a few times again this tour.

Down in the Hole is incredible. Not sure how Bruce left it off the Rising. Been listening to the album for a week or so after Amazon accidentally leaked it.
Id rate the songs like this:
Great - Down in the Hole, American Skin (41 Shots), The Ghost of Tom Joad, The Wall and Heaven's WallGood - Hunter of the Invisible Game, Just Like Fire Would, Frankie Fell In Love, This is your Sword, High Hopes
Indifferent - Harry's Place, Dream Baby Dream --- although it sounds great on the Devil's and Dust bootlegs.
Overall, I really really like the album surprisingly...it's not a typical Springsteen album, as most of the songs are unreleased from the Rising, Magic and WOAD eras... but it works. Somehow it works.
Bruce is on Fallon tomorrow night and supposedly there is a chance some North American dates are announced tomorrow... but that is just speculation. -
I hope Axl doesn't do any promotion. TV interviews and talk shows humanize him which detract from his mystique. I feel like Slash has overexposed himself at this point and now I just think of him as some sort of barker. Axl is still an artist because he has never made himself a commodity.
That really worked for Chinese Democracy.

Meh. I want new music... and when I say new music, I want an actual album. 64-year-old Bruce Springsteen is putting out his second album in three years next month. Lets go, Axl.

Funeral > Reflecktor > Suburbs > Neon Bible
Reflecktor is absolutely fantastic, but Funeral is a friggin' masterpiece. -
Gotta agree with a bunch of other posts here...St. Paul 2012 and Bruce Springsteen playing Savin' Up (wrote it for Clarence for his first solo album) and of course 10th Avenue Freeze Out tribute. Night 2 at St Paul was definitely Jungleland that gave me goosebumps. Jake absolutely NAILED the sax solo.

Sorry for continuing the Bruce love here, but I saw him 10 times in 2012. Unreal. Un-fucking-real. The crowd interaction and changes in the setlist make it worth while - not to mention the 3 and a half hour shows.

Call me crazy, but I really like the album. It starts as strong as any Killers album with Flesh and Bone, Runaways and The Way It Was. The album ends real strong too with Be Still (My fav) and Battle Born. Warming up to Miss Atomic Bomb, Deadlines and Commitments and Here with me. Is it as good as Hot Fuss? No. However, I still find it to be a really strong album and one of my favourites this yr.

HEADS UP GUYS THIS IS FAKE TOO
Well, whoever made that video understands editing. If the Better video is real (and we all know it is), Axl must be fuckin high for hiring whoever made it. Quite possibly the worst editing, shots and lighting I've seen for a video coming from a big band.
Just a thought, but I wonder if that had something to do with the Azoff lawsuit. Axl filed the suit because Azoff wanted to allegedly sabotage the band right??
Maybe this guy was in on it..
Maybe...Anyways, you'd think Axl would have enough money to spend on a guy who could cut a half decent video.

That's the video? I've seen better editing from people using Final Cut Pro for the first time. Happy they didn't release that

Their new album is streaming for free on iTunes in the US and Canada today (not sure if it's a one-day deal or what). Very impressed with the first two songs. Flesh and Bone is pure awesomeness and Runaways is great. Been waiting a long time for this record. Any of fans here?

Interestingly enough, that's my favorite too!
Was lucky enough to see Lost in the Flood in Buffalo 09. Good stuff. Still chasing New York City Serenade. Such a beautiful piece of music.

Huge Springsteen fan here...The River is an interesting album. It's definitely one of my favourites from Springsteen...I can't put my finger on it, but it's just a fun album. The only two songs that I can say I skip are You Can Look (But Better Not Touch)...although the Tunnel of Love version of that song was superb and Crush on You. Outside of those two songs, I think the first disc is amazing. I really love, "I Wanna Marry You."
As for the second disc, it's clearly superior in songwriting and it's got a good mix between fast rockers (Cadillac Ranch, I'm a Rocker, Ramrod) and great story telling songs (Wreck on the Highway, Price you Pay, Drive all night etc).
I have it in my top 5 of Springsteen albums.

Morello fits in some songs and some he doesn't. Love his parts in the Ghost of Tom Joad, High Hopes and Heaven's Wall. There are some songs done live that I'm not a fan of his style, but I don't think that he's that out of place. Seems like a similar reaction people had when Nils replaced Steve for the Born in the USA/Tunnel of Love tours.
