in the early 90s axl wore a charles manson shirt on tour and covered a song by this bastard...then trent recorded an album in the tate/polanski house and took the pig door with him after some weird experiences in the slaughterhouse...then axl stole freese and finck...then there was a guy called marilyn manson....blahblahblah

of course we need more new material....but lynyrd covers are much better than beautiful by aguilera or sympathy for the devil by the stones....

i do not understand why gnr never tried to cover songs by lynyrd skynyrd...."simple man" even sounds like civil war/don't cry....and ronnie van zant's speaking voice was very axlish...i never saw axl wearing a lynyrd skynyrd shirt (however axl's clothes on kohd and civil war had these southern elements ;P)but wasnt gnr inspired by them? if i wouldnt know that gnr comes from l.a. i had say its also a southern rock band....and i really love the sound of civil war, paradise city, sweet home alabama, simple man, etc....unfortunately there wont be songs like that on cd, i think....

are there any gnr quotes with regard to lynyrd skynrd ? ;P

like i said it before...the best strategy is radiohead's one....i will give axl 20 bucks for a 13track album

I could see Axl putting his own little twist on it. Those lyrics do really sound like something Axl would write.

this could be also a song about stephanie....it would be cool seeing just axl with a very sentimental soft voice on the piano and then fortus sets in with a nice solo

imagine a song like this with axl....and then slash steps in and plays a supersolo

i know its not gnr related....but i would cry if axl would do a ballad like this....nice video btw
