Off the top of my head, I own the full discographies of:
The Beatles
Radiohead
Blur
Manic Street Preachers
Joy Division
The Smiths
Pink Floyd
The Verve
Kasabian
Guns N' Roses
Elbow
The Who
Led Zeppelin
Portishead
The Doors
Bat for Lashes
Muse
The Stone Roses
Arctic Monkeys
Oasis
The Killers
Morrissey
I was going to put them into alphabetical order, but I can't be bothered. Oh, and I'm not counting anyone with just one album released.

I always thought "Anything Goes" was a bit too much like the Hair Metal genre they were trying to get away from. I could never get into it.
Apart from that, I don't think much of "You Ain't the First", "Get in the Ring", "Scraped" and, of course, "My World".
-
My first? Spice, by the Spice Girls. Not an easy thing to admit! But it actually still holds up as a damn fine pop album.
Most recently would be Bat for Lashes' Two Suns. Great album!
-
Out of that list I would choose Appetite for Destruction, but otherwise I think these albums are contenders:
Oasis - Definitely Maybe
Portishead - Dummy
The Libertines - Up the Bracket
Arctic Monkeys - Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not
Pearl Jam - Ten
The Stone Roses - The Stone Roses
Joy Division - Unknown Pleasures
-
The Smiths.
But I understand why they won't reunite, I suppose.

She's definitely talented.
Not sure how long she'll last, though. We'll see how good her next album is and if it can hold up to her current success.
-
I really can't wait for this. This album is supposed to be a sort of follow-up to The Holy Bible, which is one of my favourite albums.
-
It's simple. Nobody.
The artists who say they are influenced by Guns N' Roses in this day and age either look and sound like some throwbacks from the '80s and/or sound really generic and boring.
Also, remember that Guns were initially influenced by larger-than-life artists like The Beatles, the Stones and Aerosmith. The closest we've got to that in this generation is probably Oasis.
-
Blondie, anyone?
And Patti Smith.

2008 was an amazing year for music. With that said, I'll give my top five instead.
1. Elbow - The Seldom Seen Kid
2. The Last Shadow Puppets - The Age of the Understatement
3. The Fireman - Electric Arguments
4. Fleet Foxes - Fleet Foxes
5. Portishead - Third
Honourable mention to The Killers' Day & Age, The Verve's Forth and Coldplay's Viva La Vida..., along with Muse's live album, H.A.A.R.P..

Wow, I've seen the light. I'll stop listening to those artists immediately and download Limp Bizkit's entire discography instead.

Got this yesterday with the paper. I listened to it when I got home and thought it was great, especially considering it was free. Loved his cover of 'There Is a Light That Never Goes Out".
Can't wait for Noel's solo album. B)
-
Actually listening to Strangeways right now. Great record.
To anyone who wants to get into them, I'd say that they should always start with The Queen Is Dead ... if they don't like that, they probably won't like much more.
-
I like them. They're a lot of fun.
Catchy songs, too.
-
I imagine Lady GaGa will be huge. Her album is pretty strong and has a few singles on it. She's still considered a new artist, right?
-
Extremely tough choice, Oasis and The Verve are two of my favourites.
But if I had to pick, I'd go for Oasis. I've probably listened to Definitely Maybe more than any other album.
-
Well, to be honest, what was there to expect?
Haha, spot on.
These artists were past their prime over two decades ago.
-
The Killers
Arctic Monkeys
The Last Shadow Puppets
MGMT
Black Rebel Motorcycle Club
The Strokes
Plus, a lot of acts that started in the late '90s released their best albums in this decade (Muse, Elbow, The White Stripes, OutKast etc.)

I think it's really great that Morrison could sing this while, you know ... dead.
Meaning, it's not The Doors.
-
Muse's Absolution.
That intro leading into "Apocalypse Please" ...
-
-
MGMT.
One of the best new bands of the decade. Hopefully whenever they release their second album, it won't be a flop and they'll continue to rise.
-
1. "Fade to Black" (Ride the Lightning)
2. "Master of Puppets" (Master of Puppets)
3. "One" (...And Justice for All)
4. "The Unforgiven" (Metallica)
5. "Seek and Destroy" (Kill 'Em All)
6. "Sad But True" (Metallica)
7. "Welcome Home (Sanitarium)" (Master of Puppets)
8. "Creeping Death" (Ride the Lightning)
9. "Enter Sandman" (Metallica)
10. "For Whom the Bell Tolls" (Ride the Lightning)
This just inspired me to listen to Ride the Lightning ...
Albums to listen to when you're depressed or feeling down

There's no other album for me when I'm feeling down. Well, maybe The Queen Is Dead.
