  1. Man most of guys are young!

Number #1 -Definitely Greensboro 1991- at the time Gnr's longest show ever- Skid Row opened- It was about a month before UYI'S came out & they played fucking everything- I mean Everything! 4 separate encores- the band would keep leaving the stage & then come back on- the last Encore almost everyone was gone- i was halfway out the door & AxL said "hey greensboro anybody who is left come up to the front of the stage & they ripped thru PC- It was fucking amazing!!

2- Greensboro- 2006 first time saw band since 1991 with the new line-up & i was very skeptical- the new band blew me away- AXL's voice was unbelievable & that show re-ignited my passion for GnR- seen them 12x since then

3- London 2010 w/DuFF - incredible- AXL was the most intense i have ever seen him first time i ever heard him sing"I'm gonna watch you FUCKING bleed" during Jungle- I was front row on the rail that nite was pure magic & the best from the new line-up.

4- Hamilton CANADA 2009- band once again on fire & last time they played "TWAT"- it sounded incredible live & AXL nailed it!! Don't know why they don't toss it in more often.

5- Prudential center , NJ 2011- - 3 hour show, AxL sounds amazing, the band is ripping thru concerts like a well-oiled machine- "Estranged" back in the set list- what more can i say?

  2. So, I got a little too drunk. I wasnt falling over or anything, not vomiting. I was stumbling and bumped in to some guy. Well apparently during the show he shoved me into somebody else's girlfriend, which led to a complaint and subsequently me getting kicked out. This was roughly half way through the show.

To that douche, who pretty much ruined a life-long dream of mine and another friend who had to take me home post-incident, FUCK YOU!

I hope you read this, 'cause you really have caused a lot of pain over nothing substantial. Jesus fuckin' Christ at that guy! There were no fights, no hijinks at all... just got shoved while drunk and removed from the the show for it. Wow.

Think thats bad- in NJ my wife wasnt even allowed into the fucking show because she stumbled a little bit on our way into the show - we showed up about 10 min before GnR took the stage & some fat bitch security lady on a power trip said my wife appeared intoxicated & couldnt go in! she hadnt even had 1 drink & there were stumbling fools all over the place in the show ( my wife waited in the car- she insisted i go)

to the fat ugly bitch security lady- FUCK YOU!!!! :fuckyou:

  3. I'm lucky, I saw them in 2006 tour n' in 2010 tour, n' the late tour is really better, the sound, the actitude, the band jokin', all is great, awsome, for me, the best band touring. If you liked it in 2006 (I like a lot), your head will explode with this tour. rock3

Me too plus 2007 in Mexico & 2009 in Canada- Miami will b my 10th GnR show! only 1 of those, the incredible marathon 3.5 hr 1991 Greensboro show was with the "semi-original" line-up. I live in NC so def more shows coming for me!

The 1991 show was amazing, but the best shows i've seen since then were Greensboro 2006, Canada 2009- (last time they played TWAT!) & thank god I was at the 2010 London 02 show with Duff- that show was def the best with the new band- Axl & the band were on fucking fire! But they NEVER dissappoint! rock3

  4. Axl's living the good life. Next to him, you're all just gas station attendants. No offense. Me included.

All he needs to do is stop wearing the tall bandanna. He looks like a shriner for christsake's. Take a page out of hendrix's book, wear narrower headbands, they look cooler. 3

It's not just that...he's wearing top hats, and baggy sports coats, and wearing TOO MUCH jewelry.

It also doesn't help that he has gained so much weight.

Look back at him in 06', he was physically fit, hair was neater and compared to his hair now, much cooler...he also wore leather jackets, and well fitting sports coats and sleeveless button downs, along with the right amount of jewelry. AND NO TOP HAT.

Axl's overall appearance in 2009-2010 was just plain disgusting. I'm an Axl fan, and I love almost anything that he does, but at times he just looks awful...a problem that he didn't really have in 85-94 or in 06', and for the most part he looked alright in 02' as well. I get it, he's getting older, but he can definitely do some things to change his appearance.

All true- he was lean & mean on that 06' tour & looked like a total badass! sounded awesome too. Something happened in 07' causing him to get really bloated-drinkin & high Carbs i guess or maybe some type of medication- He wasn't as big in 09'-10' but did look kind of sloppy at times, but I saw him 4x during that period & his voice was killer & he never stopped moving & giving it %100 on stage- it quite surprised me actually, he was way more agile then i had expected. The way he looks shouldnt really matter much, as people have stated, but let's face it- he's a celebrity & 1 of the biggest rock stars to ever walk this earth- theres nothing wrong for commenting on or liking to see him looking lean & mean & fucking cool- plus it's one less thing the media can focus on instead of his performance. :shrugs:

  5. coming from NC- I'm doin both- being on a weekend makes it soo much easier- flights r only lik $160 non-stop- have free place to stay- no way can just see them 1x when there's 2 shows 4 hrs apart! def renting a car-just 1 day so only like $30-40 -most of it looks highway so shouldnt b bad.

  6. Tons of GNR fans in the FLA.

    I don't see it.

Wow your soo cool because you can come on to a GnR fan forum & post negataive things about everything they do- that's gotta be quite fufilling-I really need to find Justin Beiber's Fan forum so I can do the same.

back to the point- fuck yeah! seeing 2 GnR shows next month- I'm fuckin stoked! rock3

  7. I would be stoked as hell to see GNR live again, Period. They are my favorite band & they fucking blow me away every time! Even if they do the exact same set list every concert experience is different & they are playing some of my favorite songs of all time- Does anyone listen to the same Album twice?? or how about the same Album hundreds or thousands of times?? Of course, we all listen to our favorite music numerous times & at different points in our life. And this is a fucking live concert experience for christ sakes with AXL right fucking in front of you- which is a thousand times better than just hearing it on CD, I pod, whatever. If your a big fan shouldn't that be a really intense experience?

It really baffles be why the same people keep wasting their time day after day coming to this forum to just complain about everything GnR does. Then again, It's "Cool" to do that i guess. :shrugs:

  8. I dont want to talk about how I got backstage to guns, cause thats not really important, but can I say it was just one of those things where 1000 little things happened on the day , and fortunately for me it all worked in my favour.

I didn't create this thread to brag, far from it. I wanted to try and share my experience with a lot of people on the forums, and try and provide some insight as to how cool each and everyone in the band and gnr family are.

All of them take the time out to spend time with the fans, and I wanted to write about my experience to communicate that as I think positive publicity for the band members in the band should be voiced.

I know - I'm just jeolous- wish I had those connections!

  9. how do u get backstage??

    My question as well-

thank u on sharing your experience- they really do sound like awesome, down to earth guys, but you are obviously NOT the average fan I've flown to 3 diffeRent countries now to see GnR & I haven't gotten to meet anyone or gotten backstage. I'm not boo hooing, in no way shape or form did i expect or feel as tho i deserved to meet anyone from the band & GnR blew me away every time, but no offense to you, but you seem like somebody that has some connections to the band that %99.9 of us dont have & are just BRAGGING about who you personally got to meet & hang out with. Don't get me wrong- I'm very happy for you being friends with the band & sharing your story with us, but an avg. fan you are NOT & I am very jeolous! obviously- so cheers to you my friend cause I'd prolly do the same!

  10. You stupid fucks need to listen to the Toronto show in January eh. Axl was on fuckin' fire his voice was amazing listen to nightrain and knockin fuckin unbelieveable i got to get drunk and smoke some weed with him after the show backstage fuck that man knows how to party..I know hes played a million shows since then but Toronto kicked fuckin ass..i hope he comes back in 2011 fuckin eh. Guns N' Fuckin' Roses!!!!!!!!!!

Toronto 2010 was amazing..... Took me all night to get to the front row and just as I did I got to hear Paradise City.

His voice was (and is) in my opinion at his best.

I thought it was at his best in Hamilton 2010-London-Toronto 2010 shows as well also- i was in the front row as well but....

LONDON O2 2010 nite #2 was absolutely the best AXL's voice has ever been( as far as 2001-2010 anyway)- Again i was right there in the front- Axl was fucking possessed that nite or something, I was stunned because I never expected him to match Canada, but I'm telling U on a scale of 1-10 AXL was at a fucking 25 that nite!! I was in shock! Maybe cause he knew DUFF was there he elevated his game, in fact he blew out his voice that nite so had to cancel the private London show the next nite at Dingwalla & had to cut like 5-6 songs in Birmingham where his voice was no where near as good ( still great show tho). His voice was almost fully back in Manchester, but again nothing like that nite at the O2. I've seen the new band 8 times now & that nite is the new bar for me.

I remember AXL saying that nite a few weeks ago at the London O2- "Damn I feel good tonite"- he wasn't Fucking kidding!! rock3

  11. I wonder what Axl's deal is with not wanting to play CD songs. We are back at the 2/3 old, 1/3 new ratio and 6 CD songs is about the exact same amount he played in 2006 when the album wasn't even out. It just doesn't make sense that he is essentially ignoring the record. Not to mention we know he knows that people really enjoyed TIL when they played it live, and it was one of the highlights of the album. It really should be a staple in the setlist as this is supposed to be a new era for the band.

I wonder what this guy would be bitching about if they weren't touring at all?

But duuuuude. This is a forum. This is where we wonder and discuss things like this. I find it interesting too that they don't play TIL..not complaining as such, just discussing. No harm in doing that rock2

    FRED

Agreed. i'm so tired of people saying fans have no right to expresss any type of opinion about the set list other than pure adulation. This is a message board for god fucking sakes. We all love this band & would be thrilled to see them in concert, but just because some people would like to hear more songs off CD doesn't make them un-grateful disloyal little whiners.

I saw 2 shows in Canada & was lucky enough to hear TWAT, Scraped, & TIL along with the other CD staples which made those nights extra special for me - but if i saw these more recent setlists, I'd still be thrilled to see GnR, but I gotta admit i'd would be a little dissappointed not to hear a few more off CD.

The thing is it's easy to say you would be disappointed if you were at the show and didn't hear more new songs when you weren't at the show. I think it's different when you are actually at the show and having the entire experience of the show right in front of you as opposed to just looking at the setlist and making a determination on the experience of the show. That's why I don't get the Monday Morning Quaterbacking about the show. The show is an entire experience beyond the setlist alone.

Wondering why a particular song wasn't played is one thing. And even with that, GN'R setlists have always varied to some extent show to show, so there may not be a reason. But, criticizing based on a setlist for a show you weren't even at, if that is what someone is doing, is making a judgement without having all the relevant information in front of you. Namely, the actual experience of being at the show, which cannot be conveyed just by a setlist.

    Ali

Stop preaching already! For Fucksake, Nobody is saying it wasn't an awesome incredible, Fucking killer show! Honestly, just seeing GNR do the first 6-7 songs is worth the price of admission alone & blows away any other current Hard Rock band out there.- Just saying if I or any one else goes to one of these shows it would be that much more enjoyable to hear more from CD, period. & guess what that's ok- not bitching, not complaining,, just stating a fact. rock3

  14. How long do bands normally play?

Well- i just saw Alice in Chains in Mytle Beach & they've been avg. 21-23 songs a nite, but i think the more important question is how long the other shows on the tour have been & what new songs the fan didn't get too hear. I'd be real dissapionted if i hadn't seen them in years & this was the show i ended up seeing.

Perhaps AXL's 3 week NYC bender caught up to him?

  15. Ok, I'm not a complainer at all, but...

Not at all understanding the very short setlist. Something had to be wrong. Nobody expects them to play close to 4 hrs. every nite, but 15 songs?? that's shorter than the St. Loius riot show. I'd be a bit dissapointed considering every Canada show was at least 20-23 songs.

I mean this is the Official Chin. DEM World tour & they only played a few songs off it.

  16. Let's not forget that Classics Rock magazine is releasing Slash's album... I guess that's one of the reasons for this magazine's unfair shitty review.

Actually, Classic Rock released a pretty substantial Chinese Democracy edition. Featuring a full review of the album which was very positive (3rd best album of the year according to them), a front page, and a 14-page pullout booklet dedicated to the Making of Chinese Democracy. They've always been pretty favourable towards New Guns, and one of few publications to do that.

But of course as soon as they don't do something perfect in terms of Axl, they're a bastard magazine.

Yes, but they have different critics & this guy clearly has a problem with "Nu Guns". He most likely simply doesn't know the new songs which would make them kinda boring. That's why he enjoyed the one's with immediately catchy choruses the most. This is The "Chinese Democracy World Tour" for christsake! I think most fans in attendence know their gonna hear a lot of CD. They performed for almost 3 hrs. so they could fit in most of the classics with the new- how many other bands do that??

I don't give a rat's ass what this this or asswipe critics think. GNR is on fire & kicking more ass than any other hard rock band out there today- THANK GOD FOR GNR!! rock3
