Now the lyrics are SHIT. They are the statement of a VERY IGNORANT person.
Uh, that's kind of the point. What is so difficult to understand? Axl is knowingly taking on the character of a "very ignorant person" in the song. The fault is not his for singing the song, but in the brain dead listeners with no comprehension skills. Do you feel the same way about "It's So Easy"? Do you think Axl is legitimately advocating sexual harassment and assault in that song? How about in "Pretty Tied Up"? Is he encouraging drug and alcohol abuse when he sings "Brownstone" or "Nightrain"? Why are you a GNR fan at all if you're incapable of understanding and interpreting art?
This is exactly why there will never be any new music. Axl has given up on the legions of idiots in the world, and just exploits them all for enormous financial gain rather than be the artist that he is. It's just not worth the effort of being an artist when you have to contend with this level of stupidity.

It could have easily been a slim person and that wouldnt make them less of a predator, unless you prefer being raped by someone with good body
Clearly the remark is unnecessary and it comes from a place of anger against someone fat. A rapist is a rapist and if you are going to insult them, then better call them by what they are: degenerates low lives. The rest is irrelevant.
Axl became disgusted with gay people because unfortunately he had bad personal experiences with them, not only with that trucker guy but he also said that figuring out his father abused him also influenced his disgust of homosexuals.
His lack of education on the matter made him associate gay people with rapists but being a rapist is more about power and control than sexuality.
Oh jeez...you're hopeless. Is there just a language barrier or are you sincerely this confused?

Perfect opportunity to bust out One In A Million.

You're trying to appeal to a moral center and sense of justice that simply does not exist.
And your wording is unfortunate. I'm sure Axl would respond by looking at your girlfriend and saying "Turn around, bitch. I'll give you a bone."

Lets hope Steven will do the whole show...with special apperances of Frank on CD songs.. Steven is so important for a positive vibe...
I used to think that too, but after attending the Dallas and Houston shows, I was completely converted. The positive vibe is there regardless.

Oh man, the little clips on Facebook from right behind Steven where all you can really hear are the drums...so sweet!

Not sure if its been discussed but there was some overlap to the two shows in Coma. In Dallas, Slash and Axl turned into each other out on the ramp stage left. It was talked about at length on the Dallas thread as evidence of "tension" between the two. Well in Houston, at the exact same moment in the song, Slash was stage left and Axl came out there. They were both looking for each other as Slash turned around. Slash was laughing as they made sure not to run into each other. Was a great moment and shows they were both remembered it and could laugh it off. Not sure how many people noticed.
The "piano incident" was hilarious. You could tell something was horribly off but and when Axl stopped November Rain I was wondering what would happen. But they laughed that off too, went on with the song and were professional about it. It's a silly highlight that I will always remember having been there.
Again, great show. I'm exhausted from 2 late nights in 3 days and travel down and back to Houston (I live in Dallas) but it was totally worth it. The shows are great and they are bringing their all every night. I would make small set list changes for personal preferences but I won't go into those. Bottom line, this has been a "Not In This Lifetime" experience.
I was at both shows too, and you are spot on. It was such an incredible experience. I would score Dallas as 9.2 out of 10, but Houston was more like a 15 or 16 at least. Even the November Rain piano thing was a gift, because having Axl stop and restart a song should be part of the ultimate GN'R experience. The fact that he was so amused by it and handled it so perfectly was even better. I could write pages about why this show meant so much to me, but time and energy are in short supply. To sum it up, the last time I saw "the band" was three years ago at the Houston House of Blues. Just compare any of the videos of Nightrain already in this thread to this:
I left that show so disappointed and so resentful of Axl for taking what I consider to be the mightiest band in the world and letting it become such a mediocre joke. Maybe that was part of the plan all along, to make this rebirth even more extraordinary. Who knows? All I can say is that I am so grateful to him now for going to the trouble of giving GUNS N' ROSES back to the world. You can't even accuse them of a cynical money grab, because they could have put in 50% of the effort that are putting into these shows, and still made however many millions of dollars they're making. But they are delivering the goods in a way that is far beyond what we could ask or hope for. There is literally nothing that anyone could complain about. As much as I love Steven and as much as I hated Frank based on all the videos from the first few shows, I am now a Frank fan. He nailed every song perfectly. Every aspect of the show was perfection.

When you play a real piano, you hit a key which causes a hammer to hit a giant string on the inside, and that makes the sound you hear. When you play a MIDI keyboard, which Dizzy and Melissa are playing, and which Axl could be playing for all we know, you hit a key which triggers a computer to play the note you want to play. Sort of like typing on a keyboard that tells the computer what letters you want to appear on the screen. What happened during November Rain was a computer malfunction, like if a keyboard got stuck and kept typing the wrong letter, or if a computer or phone freezes up and starts functioning in an...undesirable way. The computer was generating a bunch of random notes on its own.

It was a MIDI malfunction. Let's move on.

That looks perfect, but the only option is to leave by midnight...I wonder what happens if the show goes past midnight?

He has his good moments but... What the fuck is he doing (from 4:50 just randomly slamming poor drums)? Obviously he couldn't provide worse background for Slash's improvisation. I'm 50/50 mad and dissapointed.
You nailed it. I am baffled as to why the rest of the band puts up with that garbage playing. Slash's drummer would have been a much better choice.

Even though he was out time with the band on YCBM, he was in time with the lights. A few more band rehearsals needed!
Probably because the drums are what trigger the lights.

I'm sorry, but this is going to seem like I'm trolling according to the mods here, but I'm not. I'm simply speaking the truth.
I have to get this off my chest, but Frank's playing with GN'R is nothing short of disgraceful.
I'm so happy to have Duff, Slash and Axl back together and I've always said that they are the bare minimum to justify calling this band Guns N' Roses and damn, am I excited about it all. Slash is the greatest rock guitarist of all time, Duff, of course is fucking amazing and I'm just so stoked to see Axl doing this again with them and also is kicking arse. I wholeheartedly welcome Richard to Guns N' Roses because he fits in and is one mother of a player, but once again, to the reason for my post, Frank.
I am laying here in bed watching/listening to the lastest show on my phone and to be frank, Frank is totally ruining this.
He is doing fuck all right.
He plays too fast, plays the wrong beat, plays the wrong fills and is totally out of time in places.
I am a drummer also and I know for a fact that I could play every GN'R song, note for note. It's not difficult drumming. Fitting in with the band is the most important thing and I'm damn sure that Slash and Duff are not happy about it.
This could potentially be a train wreck.
I know they can't stop the show right now to rectify this, but as soon as they get the chance, something needs to be done. Doesn't matter who it is, either Frank needs to go home and play the GN'R catalogue in its entirety to LEARN the songs or they need to get someone who knows them already.
Sorry to be a downer on the reunion, because I am so excited and satisfied about it all, but Frank is THAT BAD.
Not a bad drummer all in all, but bad for GN'R.
Ditto. The reasons for not involving Steven may be very legit for all we know, but there's no reason they couldn't have gotten a drummer who could at least keep the songs at the right goddamn tempo. The sad part is that the majority of the audience doesn't notice or care. The ones that CARE are the ones that get fucked.
I had a drummer listen and play to drumless versions of "Better" (as well as other Chinese-era tracks), never having heard the originals
