People expect a good show. I know if I paid money to see what what shown I would not be happy.

Most people seem to have enjoyed the show. But of course it is possible you expect more than most people, fans here tend to do . But it happens you pay for concert tickets and feel short changed. It happens regularly. It's part of the deal, you never know how good the concert will be. If it was sufficiently bad I guess concert goers could demand to get their money back, but I have heard no report of that happening.

What is ironic is of course that most people who complain and whine didn't pay a buck to see the concerts, it was streamed for free on the Internet .

Yes, but you can't tell me that his voice being bad and him forgetting the lyrics could be blamed on anyone or anything other than his lack of interest/discipline and motivation.... He has never stuffed up so many lines at a show before...

Maybe most people at the show enjoyed it, maybe they are still starstruck and having butterflies about the whole night and haven't made a final conclusion yet. I remember there was good buzz initially after RIR III and we all now what the general consensus is now...

It may be ironic, but I ask you this; If Axl and the band brought the house down with a totally sublime performance, would I not be able to praise the said performance simply because I only saw the show on the internet? Would my opinion of the show I saw on the stream be any less valid than the other people's who saw the show on the internet? No. So why do the tables turn when it's a negative opinion?

What does it matter if you were there or saw the live stream? So people who were there are the only ones who can have an opinion?? What sense does that make? no one can have an opinion on anything that happens in the world unless we were there? lol

It really comes down to Axl just being a douchebag. When you really need the guy to step up against all odds he will fail everytime. I understand the situation with it pouring down rain and being less than ideal situation for them to play in, but how great would of been if he delivered a stellar performance? It would of been awesome. He just doesnt give a fuck, he's fat, bloated, winded, un prepared, bitchy, forgets lyrics and takes it out on the fans. Its sad,really. The band was great, but if I was a member I just dont know how much I could deal with. I really respect guys like Tommy and Dizzy who stick it out with the guy cuz I most likely wouldnt, regardless of the paycheck.

I think Axl just takes it all for granted. He rides that wave of mystique and thinks his hardcore fans will always be there and what he really needs is treated the way his fans are. We all should just show up at the gig at 2 am and walk out when we dont hear what we want or boo everytime a song is played that we dont want to hear. The guy doesnt have 1 fucking ounce of professionalism for someone thats been doing this shit for over 25 years and still acts like a diva is just sad.

This might be a mini tour without any deeper meaning to it, like in 2007.

This tour better include Dallas. I doubt Axl needs money. Everytime they play a GNR song, Axl gets paid and at least the local Dallas rock station plays GNR songs all the time.

I saw the Shark Night 3 D movie today and GNR was mentioned. I'm sure Axl got paid for that! lol

GNR need to do a full US tour to win back the trust of the US fans. What good is touring if you can't tour the country you were born in!

At this point, that's what I'm hoping for; a complete US tour that goes off without a hitch. I'd love to see them even throw in St. Louis to really win people back. But I'm not ready to throw the cart that far in front of the horse just yet lol

Well, they are banned from playing in St.Louis forever, so they would have to get that lifted.

Before this gets moved to another part of the forum, I would like to say that I'm consciously writing this on the News section because I want it to be possibly read by Axl himself (maybe not gonna happen but you never know), that I feel it should be an open and active debate, and it does have to do with news about the GNR world.

I'm not a known member to take free shots at the new band, and especially not at Axl. I look up to these guys and admire them more than any of my posts could tell. I'm thankful to Robin, Buckethead, Brain, Tommy, Richard, Paul, Dizzy, Chris, Axl, and any other member that has collaborated closely or from a distance to Chinese Democracy. And of course I'm thankful to DJ Ashba, Bumblefoot and Frank for the recent great live performances, along with the others.

So this is going to be a premiere. I'm not going to bash Axl, but I would like to write a few words for him that I hope he will read, and maybe others can participate (but with respect to the man).

Dear Mr Rose,

Thank you for Chinese Democracy. This sentence is the only thing I was able to tell you last year when I had the huge honour to meet you in person, because I didn't have the time to say anything else, and it was the first and truest thing that sprang to my mind. I really love Chinese Democracy and I listen to bits of it every week or so along with other great musics. I know you said "never meet your heroes" and you are probably right, but you didn't disappoint.

If you do read this message, you will probably be like "who the fuck is this kid, who does he think he is, I don't need advice from anybody, fuck off" and you will probably be right. But I would like to think you will be open minded about it.

If I'm writing this message, it's not about getting views or anything like that, I don't care about that. I have my own stuff aside so please leave the "get a life" judgment aside.

You are a big motivation and model to me, as you are for a lot of people I guess. I'm just writing this message because it drives me mad that given your talent you don't seem to be able to find a solution to drive Guns N" Roses better than this. I went to three of your shows last year and it rocked. But the promotion sucked. Chinese Democracy's promotion failed as well. You are delivering big time, and yet you fail to promote it. It cannot only be due to the various managers that you fire.

You are slowly getting old... you still deliver, but the performance of your songs requires more energy than say... a U2 song. It's incredibly demanding. Happy birthday by the way. If things don't happen faster in GNR land, you will wake up someday and turn 60 and wonder why the hell didn't you move your ass a bit more and enjoyed your life more with the new lineup you apparently have a lot of fun with.

I don't get why it's so hard with your talent and all the talent that's in the band to come out in the open more often and share some more music with your fans. You got a full "new" album ready apparently. Why all the secrecy when the secrecy about CD damaged the sales greatly (of an album that is, in my opinion, a true masterpiece)? It's good to be enigmatic and keep things hidden, but there's a time when it begins to irritate everyone and in the end, people begin to lose interest.

This band is tight, and you still got a few years before you will be an old washed up cowboy. Please don't waste them and please update what's going on more, because to me, Guns N' Roses should be BIG. I want Guns N' Roses to be as big as it was in the nineties, and you still got what's in you to make it happen. Just move your ass and go, there is still time, but not as much as you'd like to think! MOVE YA ASS AXL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What if... Axl doesnt want to? What if Axl doesnt give a shit about promoting himself? What if he doesnt care about doing videos? or promoting tours? Or selling himself to try and gain mass appeal as he once had in the late 80's and early 90's ? What if he is really happy with the way things are for the most part?

I know the manager's job is to sell the band and gain as much cash as possible..could be why he goes through lots of them.. Maybe Axl doesnt want the mass appeal he had at one time because of all the baggage that goes with it. I'm sure Axl makes a decent amount of money with the way things are at this very moment. He probably cant buy every single thing his heart desires but I imagine if he invests his money well and does the occasional tour every few years plus the money he gets from publishing and etc etc.. Axl has a very nice life and wont have to worry about a day job for the rest of it. He lives a very quiet life when not out touring and we have gone years with very few sightings and very little information. That tells me that Axl could give a hot fuck about being at the TOP and just wants to live his life and do things on his own terms.. lots of people hate that..I admire it.

Tell you what - instead of bitching about me (when this is so NOT about me) why don't YOU try to be helpful to the GNR community and go talk a hoarder out of a track or two.. or maybe do some research on different SKUs / UPCs and share the info.. or maybe you can go crawl underneath a production studio's console desk so that you can leak a radio rip of IRS. You know, be semi-useful? I've proven myself time and time again and have sought no credit, no kudos, no really anything. I do it because its fun and I enjoy it. My life is far too busy and complex to devote the time to this that I used to but yes, when I can help, I will - as that's what fans do. We're supposed to bond together, common good, all that fun stuff.

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go crash with my girl - lets hope tomorrow brings more information of a good nature. If not, oh well.

dark has been full of shit in the past and if memory serves me correctly, and i'm pretty sure it does, darknemus is the same guy that collected money and blank dvd's from a bunch of guns fans in 2006 for those hammerstein bootleg dvd's and then never sent out the dvd's. he disappeared for quite some time after that.

Actually, tool - as I've explained MANY times in the past. My Ex was the one who f'ed up the whole Hammerstein DVD thing and I have also, numerous times, offered anyone who didn't get their discs their cash back and then some. Its one of the MANY reasons she's my ex. She kept crappy records so I had no clue who got their discs and who didn't - I apologized profusely for it many times and, like I said, have refunded people their money and then some. Do you REALLY think that the 200 bucks or so I collected in total was a big deal to me? Trust me, it wasn't. Hell, I can burn through that much on a trip to the bookstore. So - maybe next time you'll actually ASK me what its all about rather than jumping to conclusions? As far as your 'disappeared for a long time after that' - my job took me out of state for a while and the project I was working on didn't have Internet access available to me (DR hot site for a large bank.. they kind of frown on open net access) - since I was working 16-18 hour days my net surfing from the hotel was pretty damn limited. Next time, instead of jumping to conclusions, why don't you just ASK ME and I'll be glad to tell you. Now back to your regularly scheduled thread.
