  1. People saying "Chinese Democracy was more anticipated... that's why it sold more," what does that even mean? The whole thing was streamed on myspace -- anyone could hear it. For free. People didn't go and buy it just to hear what it would be like. Sure, not everyone who got it loved it, but clearly more people wanted to buy it than KISS's latest. That's got to say something. GN'R still have some relevance.

  2. It says "You cannot start a new topic" in Dust N' Bones. Just wondering why that is? Also, there's a little bar that says "warning status" next to my posts, but there's no warnings or notes or anything. Is that just always there now? Or have I been warned for something?

  3. No offense, but if you have problems listening to people's opinions who don't gel with yours, then you shouldn't be coming to a forum.

Gee, Madison, it seems that this applies to you more than anyone! Oh yeah, except that you can't ban people who disagree with you. Shucks!

I haven't really wanted to say anything, in fear of being banned. But it seems that almost any thread about Madison or what happened (even the ones that were on that topic) are all locked.

Over on SUPPORT: "Any Changes Planned for a Post-Madison MGNR?" and "madison no longer listed as admin" have both been locked. Meaning that there's no main threads in there anymore.

The poll over on DON'T DAMN ME "Who thinks Dexter should be banned for the way he talked to Madison" has been locked.

The four topics on ANYTHING GOES that were related to the Madison debacle ("Gunsguy is the new moderator," "Dibiase Returns to Teach Madison a Lesson," "At this point, I think Madison should post a pic" and UKSubs Is Back!") were all locked. And, of course, the original "Revolver's trip to Canada" has been locked. That's a crazy amount of locked threads!

Obviously I'm not saying none of these should have been locked - a lot of them were being trolled, or completely off-topic and whatever. But is there any threads where we can talk about what happened anymore?

See, that's the beautiful thing is that now you can actually have differing opinion and Madison can't ban you. Rejoice!

In regards to topics getting locked, I find this amusing. I especially loved the part where Madison expresses her feigned outrage! That brough the LOLs. No, she probably wouldn't have locked them, she'd just issue warnings or suspensions or simply delete the entire thread. Those threads had gone from a discussion to Madison madmouthing the mods and trying to stir up more shit (shock!). The 'Gunsguy new mod' thread was turning into more of the same, people brining up things he'd done in the past, etc. The 'Dibiase' thread was blatantly rude to Madison if it had been any other member, it would have been deleted too. The pic thread. Really? We need a thread asking her to post a pic. Not going to happen. And the UK Subs is back thread never needed to have it's own thread anyway. If he had wanted it to be in it's own thread he would have put it there. It's the same one of two whiners that Madison keeps encouraging with her stupid 'you rock' and  and great post. Boring. As has been said before, the board is ready to move on. I know this board was your life for so long, Madison, but really. You're what, 35? Yet, you're constantly on the board on Friday and Saturday nights posting. What happened to this fabuslous NY life you were supposed to live? Go make it happen, girl! It's not too late.

And you should be thanking your lucky stars that someone like you, who is 110% in favor of censorship that is even moderately not of your opinion, isn't in charge because you'd be banned so fast your head would spin, cupcake.

We've already been warned not to derail this thread, and you're keeping it off topic. Perhaps it's doing things like that which led to your banning? Or maybe it's the personal attacks on people's lives?

(And yes, I know that there's nowhere else to talk about it. Someone should open up a new thread in Support.)

I've got nothing against Madison because she's never banned, suspended or deleted my threads. And that's probably because my posts don't break the rules.

Anyway, we've been asked to stop bringing it all up in this thread, so let's.

  4. anything too keep you off the streets,do you have anymore lame threats,is that the best you can do?

If you don't like my language don't fucking read it but don't tell me to shut up or censor myself just because my choice of words doesn't fit with the narrow mindset of the majority.

What do you have to say about the review that you quoted?

Buckethead has not written anything that anyone past his small group of fans will ever remember. He lacks soul. It is his work that is all over CD and that is exactly why it is a 4 star rather than a 5 star album. That is what Slash has in spades - sould. He is not much of a song writer, but given a rift (Izzy) or direction (Axl) he could make a great song amazing. His problem - and Axl recognized it - was he was not a natural songwriter. Axl needed someone other than Slash to partner with. Buckethead appears to have some talent to write some songs but his songs lack soul. That is why they will never appeal to both the masses and the critics. That is what the Axl-Izzy-Slash combo did.

However, that is gone and Axl is still a great performer. The point is he is living his life. If he wants to do gigs for Hollywood people, what do you care? He owes zip and you owe him zip.

Listen to Buckethead's "Colma" album and then see if you claim he has no soul.

Also, about the review -- The guy has a clear bias. Not only does the reporter not actually speak of the performance AT ALL, but it seems they WEREN'T EVEN THERE! "around 3am, the boutique was reportedly half-empty." Reportedly?

And wow, by 3 am some people like to go home?

That means the report is just based on other reports. Add a little anti-GNR spin and you've got an article.

(Using words like "feeble incarnation" to describe a band that you didn't even see... the height of journalism)

  5. Didn't see this already posted. If it was, feel free to delete.

Former SKID ROW rocker SEBASTIAN BACH was hailed a hero at a GUNS N' ROSES gig on Sunday (14Feb10) - after he stopped a knife-wielding man from approaching his close friend AXL ROSE.

Bach, along with a host of stars including Mickey Rourke and Ryan Phillippe, was at the Gramercy Park Hotel in New York for an exclusive show by the band.

But the rocker was stunned to see a man enter the bar carrying a blade and immediately confronted him, fearing he would try to attack one of the band or guests.

Security then evicted the troublemaker, according to New York Post's gossip column PageSix.

A source tells the publication, "The man walked in while Guns N' Roses was onstage and pulled out a knife and flicked the blade out.

"Sebastian, who was standing on a banquette said: 'Nobody is getting anywhere near my man Axl Rose with a knife,' and went after him. Security then immediately threw him out.

"The man appeared to be drunk. It was dealt with so quickly that none of the other guests or the band were aware of it."

  6. I’ve been following this forum for quite some time now, but never felt the urge to respond. I just wanted to read some news about my favorite band I guess.

I can wonder what made me finally decide to sign up and respond but i don’t think that will be that interesting for any of you.

Just my 2 cents. Reading Axl’s post made me angry and sad. I’m for freedom of speech more than anything, but typing about two sentences with adjectives has nothing to do with that imo. It’s just rude, immature and insulting.

Clearly Axl doesn’t agree with Madison’s actions, but if you want to put energy in responding why not just say that? Message will be just as clear and may have a better result; now most people are just responding to the ‘how’ the message was brought than the ‘what’, the content of what Axl really means to say. Just saying it is more easy to get misunderstood, get confusion, anger or whatever when communicating in a way that will easily lead to a defensive or agressive attitude in the other. I just think that is one thing that might have happend, Axl responding quite impulsively I think, I just wish he would have taken some time to think about what he actually wanted to say and get beyond all the anger. What actually happened here, what was going on? Although some would love to see this, because it is ‘so Axl-like...’

The whole thing kinda evolves in a discussion about Madison’s work for the forum and even about her as a person. I don’t know her personally so I don’t have an opinion about that or at least try not to have. I haven’t been following all of her posts so I can’t say I have an explicit opionion about that either. About this topic, if Madison did what she claims to have done imo she didn’t do anything wrong. After the stories of people not allowed to wear any Slash related merchandise she didn’t immediately take that as a true story, but rather check it, and found security claiming it to be true. Nothing wrong with that imo (for me personally, I don’t really care, I’m more interested in the music but if you are interested in these kind of stories i’m glad to see some verification). So why all the emotions? Entire discussions about what Madison did or didn’t do, about rightness of banning certain people... I don’t think is on topic anymore.

The other thing that worries me a little is that apparently there is another discussion. About censorship on the forum, most posts regarding this issue are deleted/closed; hints about the influence of GN’R/Axl on this forum etc. I understand admins should take action when things are getting really ugly but it seems there is a little more to say about this issue...? :shrugs:

PS sry for any spelling mistakes, English is not my first language.

    Great post.

And your comment about censorship is dead on.

I've never seen so many threads deleted and locked in such a short span of space in the eight years I've been here.

I've also never seen Beta logged into the forum 24/7 - like some kind of gatekeeper - as she's been doing for the past few days.

Pretty sad if people are afraid to express their views now.

Who cares about this Madison person anyway? If she didn't want to expose herself to getting bitch-slapped she should have never opened her mouth to begin with ..

Well, my friend, a discussion forum is designed for people to express their views - positive and negative. It's called freedom of speech - and this policy was the reason this forum became the largest GNR forum on the Net. It was run by fans for the fans, with no censorship interference from the band.

If you start censoring people and threads, then everybody becomes sheep and everyone walks on eggshells worried if they'll be banned for expressing an opinion.

If this happens, people lose interest in coming here. If you need proof of this, just look at what happened at htgth when it brought in its censorship policy - you can practically hear crickets chirping and tumbleweeds blowing across that forum.

.. But this is typical women who create drama, always having to get their 2 cents in about what they are doing or what they are "feeling" about the situation....and Axl just summed up what the rest of us are thinking....NO ONE F'ING CARES WHAT YOU THINK!

No offense, but if you have problems listening to people's opinions who don't gel with yours, then you shouldn't be coming to a forum.

C'mon Madison! I personnaly locked two of these threads and no one asked me to do it. Look at the topic of these thread and look what was posted in them.

Take this one for example. You and other members are totally trolling it. The thread is about an article and how the story was twist.

Usually we give people warning for trolling or, if you didn't like them you used to ban them.

This is not censhorship, this ia applying rules like we always did. No more double standard.

This one will be lock too if you guys stay off-topic.

Obviously I'm not saying none of these should have been locked - a lot of them were being trolled, or completely off-topic and whatever. But is there any threads where we can talk about what happened anymore?

  7. I'm just wondering about what songs there are, that reference, quote or relate to Gn'R, Axl or any other present/past members.. (without being complete covers or remixes)

I've had a bit of a look around, but can't find any list of these already made, off the top of my head, i'll come up with a few,

firstly, the Against Me: Is Reinventing Axl Rose album, and title track, Read here: OR

Also, on a different level, there's the track by Adrianna Smith, and Ghost in The Graveyard singing Come Find Me, dedicated to Axl Read Interview or

Or then, on a more local level for me!, There's a AFD reference early on in an Hilltop Hoods song (Aus Hip hop!), Lyrics here: or Youtube:

oh, and this SR-71 song, "Axl Rose (Where Did You Go?)" Read wiki: or Youtube:

But, surely there's many, many more, be it blatant name dropping, or cryptic meanings, good songs or bad, can you think of any?, or point me towards a comprehensive list or prior thread if there is one!, Thanks...

There's a song by The Living End called "21st Century" that has the line "...and Axl's mad," but it could be referring to another Axl. In context, it's more likely that it's not about GN'R, but whatever. There's references to a number of famous people, so it's hard to tell which Axel/Axl/Axle he's talking about. (lyrics here http://www.6lyrics.com/music/living_end/lyrics/21st_century4.aspx)

  8. I think they'll add more songs when Axl gets in shape. His voice is pretty damn good but the extra wait seems to be tiring him out quicker.

He shouldn't have agreed to tour unless he was in shape enough to give 100% at every show from the start.

This whole "he'll play his way in shape more later in the tour" mentality would piss me off if I had tickets to these early shows as it is not fair to the fans he didn't show up ready to give 100% when he is getting paid for 100% effort at show 1 and show 50.

He "shouldn't have agreed to tour"? Can you imagine the fan outrage?! "Axl doesn't think he's skinny enough to tour, cancels dates."
