Yes, that's the problem with Houston recordings. I've noticed the bass problem and i'm working on a final remaster because i'm planning a full gig with a free DVD release, so it will be soon corrected. Thank you so much and yes, TIL is going to be part of the release :D

How's this project coming along?  I wish there was something I could do to help!  It was an amazing night.

  2. I'm indifferent towards Trunk and if I were in his shoes I'd certainly be on here saying things like, "There are big things on the horizon!  I can't really talk about it, but I'm excited and you should be too!"  But to say, "I know why Pitman is gone and I will never be able to tell you about it."  In that case you don't say anything.  It doesn't stir up anything but negative speculation.  It's bush league.  You can make yourself out to be the insider without throwing that out there.

I am assuming another 45 minutes to an hour before GNR takes the stage

Every time I've seen them, the changeover has been about an hour or 1.5 hours.  Enough time to get your merch, make a head call, and procure a couple of drinks to get you through the next couple of hours.

  4. Just bought my VIP tickets. Seating all says general admission.

Still not sure if the concert will be in the AT&T Center or the Grounds. The official website says the grounds. SA Spurs should be in the playoffs at this time so maybe the concert will be outdoors.

Ticketmaster is always annoying...asked for parking pass but I thought the VIP tickets included that for the $100 price tag.

    G N'Fn R in San Antonio!

It's going to be outdoors. What I'm hoping is that with our VIP tickets we'll be able to mingle with GA AND hit the VIP area when we feel like it. Best of both worlds is what I expect it to be.

  5. I know this topic has drifted down the list, but I just wanted to add some context to the whole strep throat thing. My five-year-old son told me on Friday night as I was putting him to bed that his throat was hurting. I asked him if he thought he was getting sick and he said, "No." Saturday rolls around and he's not quite acting like himself and his throat is hurting, but he has no fever. Saturday afternoon: we're out of town heading to a birthday party. Said five-year-old comes and sits by me on the couch at my folks' house and his forehead is on fire! Thermometer reads 102 F. We're an hour from home so we give him some ibuprofen and he misses the party. Sunday morning, fever is still out of control and his voice is very hoarse, throat swollen, no appetite (not even for democracy). I take him to the urgent care clinic down the road, they swab test him and he's positive for strep throat (not to mention scarlet fever with the rash all over his body and an ear infection). Doctor prescribes antibiotics, but there's no rural pharmacies open, so I make the two-hour round-trip drive to San Antonio, give the boy his first dose of meds before bed last night. Second dose this morning. By this afternoon, throat is no longer painful, no fever, appetite is back and voice is clear as a bell.

All that to say this to all those haters thinking Axl was making excuses or someone was making them for him because he sounded better on day two: Suck it!

But I still agree that he likely didn't warm up before the first show either so I imagine it was a little bit of both.

  6. Are singers in other bands questioned as much about their rasp, deep and high pitched voice?

I love the so-called mickey voice.

If a singer in another band would sound like Axl does sometimes I wouldn't listen to them.... it's realy bad sometimes.... and good sometimes. The band is great :P

If you expect Axl to sound 25 for the rest of his life, then go home. If you expect him to sing his balls off to the best of his abilities, then stay. The man sounds awesome and gives every show the best of what he has. I respect and enjoy the hell out of it. Calling him out on this is ridiculous.
