  1. I haven't posted for a long time (mostly cauz I couldn't stand Gashba) but I had to comment after watching some clips from last night - Lucky folk got to see/ hear Coma!! Axls voice struggled a bit from what I hear but who cares! Slash's take on ChiDem stuff sounds great to me, and have you heard the soundcheck clip of TWAT?? Can't wait till they pull that out! Now hurry up n book a gig in Scotland guys, never thought I'd see the day that Axl n Slash played together, I was a huge fan of what Axl was trying to do post-Slash, but this what it should have been, and it's a great time to be a fan. Enjoy the show tonight, and keep the streams coming!!

  2. Pretty sure the RIR promoter wasn't happy after Axls last 'performance'. Although it seems far to obvious and something easy and pretty sad, I wouldn't expect GN'R to be olaying RIR this year,..

  3. What a waste of money!! Why would anyone signup? laughable that they have the cheek to ask people for money when they clearly couldn't give a fuck about what we want, which isn't much, just some information!!! What is the status of the album? Who's in the band? Basic questions need answered before anyone should consider giving their money to this 'band'.

  4. Although it's just a teaser, it's still pretty poor, really generic and not something that interests me. When I first heard Velvet Revolver I instantly wanted to hear more, and of course the ChiDem demos, but couldn't care less about this.

Not sure where this £150million sales is coming from, and using 'GN'R guitarist' when it suits him makes me dislike BBF more.

Fuck sake Axl, pull the finger out n' give us a teaser for ChiDem 2!

  5. Duff might be responsible for the most egregious one with, "this ain't no poetry album, this is real.":facepalm:

In what song did he say that?
    Garden of Eden
That's not what Duff says, he says 'This ain't no poisoned apple or some missing rib'.. I'll leave it for you to figure out the link...
    :rofl-lol:

    I'm an idiot.

Now I can't tell if you were joking or not....

  6. I used to run Gnrforum.com - back in 2003-2005. We shut it down because nothing was happening, it was getting bombarded by spam accounts and no one wanted to take on the bills!

Most of the dispersed members went to HTGTH - then once that became a bit too "government run" and "Mysteron" wasn't around much anymore, we all fled here.

Have always loved mygnr - hope this place doesn't die, even if the band does.

I used to love it when Mysteron appeared on HTGTH with a wee nugget of info.. pretty sure he/she is on here now, sure I read that he/she knew or was in some way close to Merck and that's how he/she got the little bits of info.

Richards updates are probably the most amount of info we've had for a while, I tend to ignore when Dizzy or Gashba spout the old 'there's loads of material, we just need to get together and pick the songs etc...'

Really wish they could give us some real info, anything official would be good, as a good will to the fans who have stuck with them, don't get the whole us and them thing :(

Definitely - Mysteron's posts were always the most fun.

I was the one who shared the "Phat Boy" rumor back in '02 on GnRForum - if you remember, that Axl went to an LA club and played some songs in his parked car for some people at the bar. My friend lived in LA at the time, was there and everything she told me was true. Mysteron hit me up and got all the details, confirmed it, too - but of course people still called BS on me  Ah, memories.

Cool! Any idea what the songs were?

  7. Also Zutaut called Atlas a glam rock Nov Rain and saw it as the first single.

    Jackie Chan/checkmate?

Goin Down is like the Oh my God of CD II.

Lyrically Berlin is Oklahoma about Erin and lawyers trying to destroy Axl. Obvious electro dance jam.

Soul Monster has a venomous scream.

    Jackie Chan

    The General

    Atlas Shrugged

are CD II 's most wanted.

Curious about Seven as well. Just the title, and that Marco Beltrami considered it the best from what he worked on. I want to hear it. He worked on Thyme as well, but he actually wrote on Seven.

Here is the Gn'R bit of the interview about the 4 songs he worked on:

IGN: Since we're talking about rock musicians, what was the deal with you arranging some orchestral sections for the impending Guns N Roses album?

Marco Beltrami: That was sort of just work for hire. I guess they'd heard some of my orchestral music of mine. I met with Axl and he played me these songs, asked me my ideas about them, and I told him what I thought they needed. They gave me four songs to orchestrate. A couple of them I did more than orchestrating, I actually wrote some melodies and stuff. It was a fun project. I really enjoyed it. The music was eclectic and at the time that I was doing it there were no lyrics on the songs that I was working on. People ask me about the album and I really have no idea about the release. I thought it was coming out last September. I'm the wrong person to ask about that.

IGN: He came to you with the tracks then, so you weren't ever in the studio with the musicians or anything like that

Marco Beltrami: No, they had finished tracks. On one song I actually wrote a guitar part, but they pretty much had the band tracks down and then I added orchestral stuff on top of it.

IGN: What songs were they, by chance?

Marco Beltrami: A song called "Seven," which is the one that I did the most work on, I actually did some writing on. There was one called "Thyme," one called "The General," one called "Leave Me Alone."

IGN: How was that as an experience? Do you have any future plans to work with more rock musicians or is it more like you'll take it as it comes?

Marco Beltrami: I enjoyed it quite a bit. It was different than doing film music, but it was a lot of fun. I would probably do it again. It would probably be more fun at some point, to do it as a more collaborative affair, starting more from scratch, working and writing stuff [together]. But it was definitely fun.

Really hope we hear some of Beltrami's work on the next album. Pretty sure that interview was around 2004/2005, so that's 10 (or nearly) 10 years and we've still not heard any of it. Gotta admit I love the orchestration on Prostitute, TWAT, Street of Dreams and Prostitute on Chinese, wasn't that Paul Buckmaster that done them though?

Edit - That Beltrami interview was from October 2002.

Just noticed that Marco Beltrami has a piece called 'Chinese Democracy' on the '3:10 to Yula' 2007 film.

  8. "Tomorrow never comes" buried in the mix of Catcher. Once you hear it, you can't unhear it.

    Don't think I've heard this...

What about the wind blow at the start of Prostitute that sounds like a woman saying 'I love you'.. or is a woman saying 'I love you' made to sound like wind blowing?

    Now you'll hear it forever.

Ah thanks for that, I actually thought it was just Axl going off in a high vocal and not actually saying anything :axl:

  10. I used to visit HTGTH from around 2000 up till around 2006, never really thought it would go the way it has. I sometimes go on and have a wee laugh at Jarmos pathetic attempts to twist every negative thing people say into that person not being a real fan of the band. I then went on to newgnr and posted quite a bit there, but post-ChiDem I stopped visting forums for a while and kinda lost interest in GNR and only really started re-visting last year and this particular one became my forum of choice. Keep up the good work guys :)

  11. I waited years to hear Chinese Democracy, in the lead up to it we were told 'Axl has 2 or 3 albums worth of material', if that material was recorded with Finck, Bucket and Brain then I want to hear it... if it's been butchered by BBF, Ferrer and DJ then I don't want to hear it.

Funniest post I've read in a long long time...Even if the record comes out as butchered (as you said) by BBF, DJ and FF, you will complain it sucks but you will still hear it ...how do you know it's been butchered if you don't listen to it ...LOL

The leaks on ChiDem sound better than the finished album, there's my reference. Of course I'll still hear it, but I doubt it'll attract me in the same way if I find out that a Bucket solo has been replaced by a BBF solo or that Frank has re-recorded drum parts for songs.

You might as well not even bother with it then. You'd have to be clinically brain dead to believe that parts won't have been re-recorded.

I've very much expecting the tracks to be re-recorded, still holding out a slight bit of hope though!
