  1. Congrats man, I'm glad GNR management and whoever else stepped up and got you the mic back. As a fellow memorabilia collector and GNR fan, I know how big of a deal this was. I was at the 11/17 show and saw the mic get thrown into the audience and didn't see security try to take it away, so hopefully your hard work has rectified the situation.

  2. I caught the show on Sat night and it was nothing short of fantastic, in fact my ears are still ringing! Started at 11:35pm (only a 25 min changeover as Filter played until 11:10pm) and went straight through for 3 hours until 2:35am. The placed was absolutely packed, must've been a sellout or close to it. I took a friend of mine who's not a hardcore GNR fan and he loved the show and thought Axl sounded great. I think a lot of people on here are way too critical and just like to complain about stuff. To the average fan, the band was tight, the solos kicked ass, and Axl killed it for 3 hours. I was in GA and about had a heart attack when the guy threw the beer onstage during Better. I thought there was a good possibility that the band would leave the stage and the show would be over. Thankfully Axl just stopped long enough to kick the bastard out and not ruin the show for everyone else. I loved that Catcher was added but would've much rather had TWAT (or even Maddy) during the encore than the 2 covers. The Seeker is a great addition though and Axl seems to have a good time singing it. The crowd went pretty nuts for Civil War, which should be a setlist standard from now on. I also would love to see IRS back in the setlist, I think it's an overlooked track on CD. But overall a killer show and even better than when I saw them in Houston last year.

  3. Just got back. Here is my review: greatest show ever. Fuck anybody who doesn't attend these shows that slams them. GN'R deliver, period.

Couldn't agree more, I was at the Houston show a few weeks ago and it was the best concert I've ever attended hands down. The setlist kicks ass, the band kicks ass, and Axl kicks ass, that's all that matters.

  4. Holy shit! I was secretely hoping they would play the Joint, but did not expect it to happen at all. This is amazing. Saw them there in 2006, and it was a very intimate setting. Small place. I can't wait!

I was at the one of the 06 shows at the Joint too and it was great, but the show in Houston 2 weeks ago was even better. The Joint has expanded since the 06 show, it's quite a bit larger now but is still probably the smallest venue on this tour (holds 4K or so).

  5. disappointed that they didn't play OMG. best song since Illusions.

They don't play OMG because it sucks and nobody outside of a few posters on this board wants to hear it. It's not the best song since Illusions, in fact it pales in comparison to pretty much everything on CD. The band is playing kick-ass 3 hour shows and yet people are whining about them not playing a crappy song that hasn't been in the setlist forever. I guess some people just enjoy being unhappy.

  6. I love GNR past present and future.....simples

Yep, couldn't say it better myself. I love AFD, UYI, and CD, and I love that I just saw a kick ass 3 hour show with songs from all those albums.

  7. IRS is brilliant. I wasn't totally convinced with the live rendition until last year with the live from Barcelone, just mindblowing:

I hope Axl gets his rage back just like on this live.

Agreed, IRS is one of my fav CD songs and this band can just kill it live. Would much rather have IRS in the setlist than Shackler's, as Shackler's just doesn't come off well live.

  8. Love the start times now (totally respectable).

    Good review of Omaha: http://www.omaha.com/article/20111109/GO/111109563#guns-n-roses-plays-til-the-wee-hours

Who the fuck would leave mid concert? (wierd)

"As the night wore on, many people began to leave even though the band hadn't yet played songs such as "November Rain" (they did get to the piano/guitar ballad eventually). By the end of the concert, about half of the original crowd remained in the arena."

Unless a band sucks, why would you leave early? I mean I left U2 early (they suck and I was dragged to show), but GnR/Axl Rose...no way I'm bailing mid show. You never know when you'll see Axl again.

Yea, that happened at the Houston show too. People were leaving after the initial set ended with Nightrain. Even casual fans know that the band is going to do an encore and that Patience and PC haven't been played yet, but people still left. I might understand if it was a weeknight (I still think it's stupid to leave before the show is over) but Houston was a Friday night, so there's no excuse.

  9. I was at the Houston show and there had to be at least 12-15K there. The floor and lower bowl were completely full and a good portion of the upper deck was filled. Some of the upper area was covered, but the majority of it was open for seating. It looks like the Dallas show was pretty packed too. Not that attendence matters at all to me, all I care is that Axl is playing killer 3 hour shows and I was lucky enough to attend one of them. As the word gets out about how good this tour is, I bet the majority of the venues will be pretty full.

  10. The Houston show was just epic, I don't know how else to explain it. They came out on fire with CD and didn't let up for 3 hours! I flew in and went with a college buddy and he didn't believe me when I said they were going to play for 3 hours. The crowd was great, the floor and lower bowl were filled and the upper deck was pretty full as well. The setlist mixed things up nicely and the CD songs sound right at home with the GNR classics. Axl's voice sounded as good as it ever did and he looked like he could go another 3 hours, don't know how he does it. This tour is definitely not to be missed. If there's not a show near you, get on a plane and go see it or you will regret it. I'm seriously thinking about going to another date next month. Last night's show was simply the greatest concert I've ever attended.

One question though, does anyone know what DJ was playing during his solo? Fortus played the James Bond theme, Bumble did Pink Panther, Dizzy did Baba O'Reilly, but I couldn't figure what DJ was playing. I'd appreciate it if anyone can tell me what he played during his solo.

  11. Should be fucking great. I have tickets in 107 and 108- which are both in the club section. The club has a great bar and easy access, non crowded bathrooms. I'm really hoping for some UY hits!!

Just got my tix in the mail today and I'm also in Section 108. Can't wait for the show, haven't seen the band since 2006 in Vegas!

  12. I wouldn't pay more than $50-100 for that, this guy is dreaming if he thinks he can get $2,500 for it!

On the other hand, I just picked up a guitar signed by Slash off Ebay for $300, which I am pretty pumped about. Would love to have one signed by both Slash & Axl, but those usually go for 2-3x what I paid and that's out of my price range.

Here's a link to the guitar if you want to check it out:
