You know, in sixth grade my friends and I used "Ping Pong" as a euphemism for sex...
-

-
At least RaulXL didn't try to imitate the album on Rocket Queen...if you no what I mean
-
and SEATTLE!

Thanks for posting, cool to see where they've started and how far they've come. Nowadays we complain if axl doesn't update his twitter daily. They even misspelled cordially
-
Not an Axl update as such... but Ron posted this:
@axlrose Perry Mason
Perhaps they'll be performing that at the next show? rock1
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Perry_mason
hmm it was an old detective character...
doesn't really seem like a song title, could be an inside joke, maybe axl and bumble were just talkin bout it one day then axl forgot the show name and asked bumble and bumble decided to tweet it.
most likely though is that this detective is making a guest appearance at the next show B)

It says I need to become a premium member, any other way I could get that please?

I think Overall sorry was great, less depressing than the studio (don't get me wrong I love the studio version tho), axl really only had problems with the first chorus as far as i can tell, nothing worth apoligizing for but at least he's being humble.
-
Holy crap that YCBM is better than perfect, this lineup is so good I don't even want a reunion anymore, GNR is rockin' again!
-
I would say yes, nearly flawless setlist, great instumental work, axl's voice sounded appetite-era, overall band chemistry, great fans, great stage production and pyro.
-
I'm not sure where in the setlist they'd put them but I'd love to see scraped, nightrain, civil war, catcher in the rye, prostitute and anything goes (deep track but i think it would be perfect for dj and axl's current voice). Since they'll have to drop some I'd say TWAT (great song but doesn't work live), It's So Easy, Street of Dreams (I'm gonna get flamed for this), My Generation, If the World, and Live and Let Die.
I would like to say though that friday's setlist was brilliant and had a great flow and maybe it's better off if they only change one or two songs a night and then just experiment in the solo slots.
-
So it seems like around 5 am pacific or 8 am eastern, i'm definitely gettin up early for this one!
-
who's that playing percussion (bongos?) in the top left of the screen? dizzy?
-
LIVE AND LET DIE
AWESOME QUALITY
best quality of any vid i've seen, nice find!
-
My thoughts:
Setlist is great overall, i'd like Nightrain and Prostitute but I'm sure we'll get them so I'm not complaining
Based on the bootleg so far they seem to take a while between songs, I guess it's just first show kinks
Axl looks like a true rockstar again, almost like a bulldog lol
More importantly his voice is spot on, perfect control over rasp vs. melody
DJ is great, he plays like slash but with more flow and less blues, at least he has his own (awesome) style
Fortus and Tommy and still just as good as always, they're just there shredding the riffs down for the band
BBF seems almost hiding, I can't see him in the vids and haven't seen pics but I'm sure he's still fine, I can hear him on some solos i think
SCOM was pure brilliance, the solo plus the singalong choruses were mindblowing
GNR NEEDS TO COME TO SEATTLE!

If that really is a new pic he looks almost exactly the same, i doubt it. (if you were trying to get at something else apoligize)

When's the show start for Pacific (SF Bay Area) time? 4am?
Technically 4 am but we all know axl's habits and if you read through any of the taiwan threads you'll see mr. brownstone lyrics, i wouldn't expect it to start until maybe 5 am or later, i'm still gettin up at 4 tho for hype and possible pics/updates from those attending.

Can't wait, I'm kinda embarassed to admit it but this I only got into gnr in late 07 so i wasn't really paying attention during the other tours, this is the first one I'm really into. I'm thinking of pulling an all nighter, im west coast time, am i out of my mind cuz axl will just get on stage around nine?
Yup, should be on the stage around 9. Get on the bus about eleven sippin' a drink and feelin' fine.
Hmm, that makes it tough, I get up around 7, convert time zones and i'll have missed the whole show. Oh well, worryin' is a waste of my time.

Sorry if it's already been said, but what's that last minute of the street of dreams vid "2" on the chinese (?) site? It could just be someone's solo but im thinking that's our first taste of some new stuff!
-
yup i never heard of these guys, if it wasn't for axl i wouldn't have
however, i guarantee you jesse will never visit this site
-
i could easily see that cover being done by a 3 year old singer, his grandma on piano thinking she's playing it right, and some creepy guy in the corner just to make sure they get the "mood" right. i see what they were gettin at, but that just didn't work

It will really be interesting to see if Slash and duff respond
The media will speculate on what Axl has posted, and misinterpret what's been said. Duff and Slash will read what the media have said, and comment on that.
That's my theory on the subject. Hopefully Slash and Duff sign up to MYGNRforum and check Axl's posts for themselves, or maybe even reply! ... maybe that could be a bad idea
HAHA! I can see that now... mygnrforum being the medium of communication for all these guys. First they start out arguing and calling each other names, then slowly they start to apologize. "I'm sorry... I love you man! It was all my fault! I'm an asshole!" "No man, don't say that! I'm the asshole! And I love you man!" "No man, really, it's me that's the asshole! And I love you man!" All before our eyes! ha!
I like that fantasy.
It would be cool if Slash or Duff would comment on Axl's post here.
Would they get an VR sign, the one Axl got an GNR sigh under his avatar?
"Oh hey Axl didn't know you were on this site" "hey slash hows it goin" "oh i think I saw Duff and Izzy in the Dust N Bones section" "ya well i've been chattin with these fans here about our band name and crap" "oh hey guys, steven here" "oh how was celebrity rehab" "oh it was cool, adler's appetite is an epic fail though" "ya same with velvet revolver" "you know, how bout we get together and jam some time" "sounds good" "okay" "izzy here, i'd be fine with it, just talked with duff, he's up for it too, wanna do a reunion tour?" "okay" "okay" "okay" "okay"
just watch, it'll happen

I think this is proof that anyone who says it took 15 years to make this album is missing most of the facts, during those fifteen years all this was going on behind the scenes, legal issues, band chemistry, etc.. Thank you so much axl for putting your time into this, nobody forced you to and you easily could have stayed at home raking in the cash this holiday, but instead you care about the fans and never let us down anymore.
My christmas wish list
1. Better Music Video
2. Tickets to 09 tour
3. Axl Autobiography
4. Chinese Democracy as Album DLC for Rock Band 2 (yes, random, but who cares)
If i get any of those, i will be completely content
Happy Holidays and I hope we don't ever scare you off here, you're always welcome
Mr. Brownstone and Hendrix's "Little Miss Lover"
in 2010
Posted
I happened to listen to these two songs back to back and realized how similar they are. This may have been discussed before, but do you guys think gnr had jimi's song in mind or is it just a coincidence?
I hear similarities in the opening drum beat, the opening guitar riff, the first notes from the brownstone solo and the outro guitar melody in miss lover, and the guitar rhythms overall
And just to make it clear, Mr. Brownstone is one of my favorite songs, I'm not trying to bash it or gnr's writing abilities, I just heard this and figured it would make for good musical discussion.
