  1. Happy Birthday Axl... You were the best inspiration in my life since I was 12. Thank you for being yourself and making great music...

I hope you always have a great life...

    Enjoy today by the way:))

    Kissed and hugged

    Ayca

  2. But in that one, he wasn't really pissed at anything to rant. He was just telling a story.

Now this one, he was pissed...

    Classic!

This one must be the best of the American rock history.

The one "completely drunk" is the second best of Axl rants.

  3. Sorry, but axl had too short a run to be #1. If guns n roses had continued past '93 he could have contended for #1.

Guys like plant, scott and especially mercury wipe the floor with axl

As long as there are videos like Tokyo UYIs no one can wipe the floor with Axl. Those 3 are very big legends but they must be able to perform the very same and much better to wipe the floor, which is, dear, impossible.

Actually, if they could I would rather be their biggest fan :shrugs:

  4. Funny how the middle east and europe largely hate Americans and our lifestyle, yet show up in droves for anything 'western'.

This is Axl's magic. He represented America in the late 80's and early 90's in east Europe and Asia. Along with Jacko and Madonna. Americans are not aware of his magic and they cannot appreciate his value yet.

He is definitely ahead of his time. People will understand and give him more credit as time goes by

  5. IMO, the sides are categorized as regressive and progressive first rather than left wing-right wing.

When the side invests and believes in the wonders of science, art, philosophy and is able to internalize the priority of ecological balance over financial gain, has been able to develop consicence (aslo known as superego and is best developed through scientific and philosophic education and art) is in the progressive side. Whenever religions dominate science, science serves to commercial success more than to itself, conservative feelings or fears become an obstacle in front of art & philosophy and those lead the societies lose their consciences and the governments cannot differentiate the "sometimes" thin line between protection of the nation and unjust and universally illegal pratices, imo we can say the dark (regressive) side has won. IMO, one person cannot be all in the light side or in the dark side. But as long as people read, talk , learn and educate themselves they become "better" simply put.

As for Axl, he came from a pentecostal background and managed to erase most of its traces. Not many people could do this. This proves that he is a very intelligent person and tend to be in the proggressive side by nature. He is rather progressive than regressive . However, the basic insights gained in the childhood is really hard to overcome. As we have seen in his message to Madison.

As for republican and democratic sides I think he is independent. He does not seem to hold a side strictly. Or he holds but never declared it. If so, Kudos to him, because art is not a servant of any "political" side.

Yesterday, afte weeks of especulation, Rock in Rio IV was officialy confirmed. On the launch pary, that happened in Rio, the festival producer Roberto Medina gave some info aout the festival. The launch party of the festival had many brazilian rockstarts and other celebrities, and was full of journalists to record the moment.

The festival will happen in the 23rd, 24th, 25th and 30th of September and 1st and 2nd of October and will have 108 artists in the new City of Rock Olympic Park, close to the original one. The original City of Rock, where the Rock in Rio I (1985) and Rock in Rio III (2001) happened, is destroyed.

Medina said he will have help of journalists and music producers and label to choose the artists. He said that the festival will have theme nights, for each musical style (pop, metal, rock and teen) and maybe a night for techno music. He said that he wants Guns N' Roses, Radiohead and Iron Maiden to headline the festival: "There are a bunch of artists that I like. I would like to see Shakira on the pop day. She makes a amazing show, she played on the Rock in Rio Europe Editions. On rock, Raidohead and Iron Maiden, that is very strong in Brazil, but not so much in Europe, where Metalica dominates. And of course, Guns N' Roses, a Rock in Rio tradition".

The tickets will cost R$170,00 (something near 80 dollars) for each days and students can pay half of the price.

Today (November 9th) METALLICA was confirmed as the headliner of the Metal Day, Angra and Sepultura were also announced to this day. Ozzy Osbourne and Black Label Society are rumored to play on that date too.

METALLICA was one of the most voted on the official poll of which bands people wanted to headline the festival, Guns N' Roses was also one of the most voted. The other headliners will be announced soon.

Lucky bastards. You get the greatest artists at once. But what must be confessed is you created your own luck actually. You give rock n' roll the value that it deserves. I am not jealous for not being there. :P

  7. Hair Metal was going to die anyway, but I would say AFD simply because it was first.

IMO, big bands are always big bands no matter called as hair metal or not. And many of 80's bands were doing as good music as Nirvana did.

Grunge killed hair metal in fashion sense and attitude wise. But it did not last long. Because main stream did not identified themselves with this attitude that stood by passivism. Peolpe already feel weak and like a loser most of the times and they need a struggler as a role model.

  8. He looks much better and much younger.

He could be a grandpa...pretty sick to where a mustashe like that. Could scare the little one`s. Hope he has some sense left....

Without the mustache he looks better I agree, especially when I saw this picture again.

  9. Think about you

    So fine

    Perfect crime

    Right next door to hell

    You ain't the first

    You are crazy

    Shotgun blues

    CITR

    TIL

    Dust N' Bones

    Don't damn me

    Dead Horse

The entire UYI Vol I, especially A side is great IMO.

Considering the train wreck Axl Rose has become, it’s hard to believe that Slash was in a band with him for even a minute. Slash’s mellow demeanor is nearly equal in degree to Axl’s level of personal turbulence. And yet Slash, who created some of the greatest guitar riffs and solos of the rock era (“November Rain,” “Sweet Child o’ Mine,” “Welcome to the Jungle,” etc.), struck lightning not once, but twice, in the wacked-out vocalist department by creating Velvet Revolver with singer Scott Weiland.

Without that train wreck, you would not be able to meet and do an interview with this mellow demeanor. You owe this to that train wreck.

  11. Can anyone do a transcript of the rant?

Assuming that you mean the one in the middle (4:47) of KOHD:

"So ... a couple nights ago we had some problems here, and I know I'm probably giving them to much credit by talking about it, but I gotta get it off my chest because I'm fucking pissed off. See, we ... we know this little scumbag back in New York and he talked about booking a show over in ... at his stick (?) and I told him no, but he booked it anyway. I found out the night before the show and I was gonna go. But in the night of the show my throat was pretty fucked up from the show before and I wanna apologize if I'm not hittin' all my fucking notes tonight. But as much as we hated to disappoint anyone then, we had to look at priorities, and it was either a couple of hundred people or all of you. And my so-called friend thought I was being selfish by not doing his show and I'm supposed to say "fuck you" to you. I didn't wanna say "fuck you" to you. So that's why that didn't happen and why we're here tonight. It's because we wanted to play the show. So are you going to help me out now? ..."

 How I love the good old Axl rant back. I missed it a lot although I was happy he hadn't something he needed to get off his chest so badly.

    This was sweet :wub::wub::wub:

Could someone translate the speech bubbles for me?... Thx!

It's too specific man. I will try:

First Guy: Mion is so hot (Mion is the second guy)

Second Guy: I love to talk shit about Gn'R but I will suck Axl's dick tonight (He's a fuckhead, he loves to talk shit about Gn'R and attended to this private gig)

    Third Guy: We're so cool!

Fourth Guy: Who is Gn'R ??

    Phrase:

    "CD: $30,00

    Ticket Premium: $500,00

Seeing a bunch of idiots being fooled by Gn'R - No price"

    :rofl-lol::rofl-lol::rofl-lol::rofl-lol:
