  1. Bunch of whiners.

Be happy that they're actually touring and that this isn't the silent years from 2003 - 2005.

This. So few bands mix up their setlist at all, so there's no reason to complain over that.

Hell, 2003-2005 was a cake walk. Try being a 14-16 year old kid in 1994 and your favourite band said they were going on a short hiatus and would soon be back with a new album.

Anyone thinking 2003-2005 was a bleak period obviously did not live through the devastation of 1994-2001 (with the brief moment of hope when "Oh My God" was released).

    Cheers,

    Andrew

    Exactly!!! Couldn't agree more.

  2. Axl has got by on his talent, chiefly his vocals, songwriting and charisma as a frontman and still sells tickets on that basis. Slash is a great guitarist and is recognized as one of the best in the world. He sells tickets on that basis.

Well that's really not true any more is it? Axl sells tickets based on those aspects but under the Guns n' Roses name. Slash regardless of what people may think of him isn't trading on the GnR name any more and has made a success of himself on his own merit without relying on the legacy of a band that died nearly 20 years ago.

  3. That's the problem with duplistic people. Adler and Slash are all cool and being "humble" on stage, but it's a sham. Keep in mind these guys have verbally crapped on Axl for the past 20 odd years. So if they present themselves as being all cool and having their shit together, it generates alot of fuck you Axl posts as the simpletons then are easily corralled into thinking the problems that exist with the old GnR lineup are purely down to Axl.

Ever think that they crapped on Axl because he deserved it. With Duff, Slash, Izzy, Adler, Gilby all saying the same thing about the guy, perhaps it may have been justified criticism.

And it's insane to blame these guys for walking away. If you were in a business/partnership/marriage and the other party/person was treating you like shit, wouldn't you extricate yourself from that situation. It's like blaming a woman for leaving an abusive husband. Doesn't mean that these guys aren't without their faults (ie drugs, booze), but their problems weren't so bad that the others quit on them.

I know Axl doesn't want to give these guys their moments, but why is everyone here begrudging these guys for celebrating their pasts. Remember, these are the guys responsible for most of the songs you're going to see Axl and his band play this past year and upcoming summer.

It's amazing that on a night like this we can't be happy for a group of guys that gave us so much and are giving back to the fans by honoring the music we hold so dear.

  4. This is so fucking sad. I'm digging in my closet for my camcorder so that I can point it at the screen of my netbook which is showing a small and poor stream of live video of a camera pointing at a tv set from a distance with people getting up in front of it, and that tv set is in turn showing the stage of the HoF. This is what it comes down to.

    :rofl-lol: :rofl-lol: :rofl-lol: :rofl-lol:

  5. With Myles there, this will just be a Slash PR event, promoting his new album. They'll even advertise it, I'd bet. He and his management are great businessmen.

    True.

What a prick media whore he is.

Sure, Slash fans, GnR fans, VR fans, and rock fans in general will get to see him perform some classic songs. Fans will get the treat. Rock music will be played. People will have a great time.

I wish Slash would have taken the Axl approach instead. It is much better for the fans to not hear their favorite rock stars play music.

    People are so strange.

Axl fans think it's more badass and rock n roll to not show up, to not play live, to write woe-is-me letters, and to not give his fans a treat, and to not jam with old band mates.

And the guys who show up and jam with old band mates, give their fans a treat are sellouts and media whores.

    Wow.

    So Slash fans get music.

    Axl fans get......nothing.

Ya. One guy is rock n roll. One guy isn't.

  6. Regardless of who is going to be there, with Axl, Izzy and Dizzy not being there, it's going to suck major ass...

This is essentially going to be a "Slash solo show" performance, with special guests such as Duff, Steven and Matt.....That IS what it is to me. I feel sorry for all those people who where expecting alot more in relation to this event, but I saw this coming a mile off to be honest.

I can't argue that it won't be the same as having all 5 there, but it's hardly something to feel sorry about. Watching them accept their awards and performing is still a treat for fans. And that's the only reason they are doing it, for the fans. Those guys didn't let us down, and I for one appreciate that.

    Very well said!

  7. It's really cool that the guys will perform. It's great for the fans that at least GNR will be represented at their own induction. Myles is the perfect choice to replace Axl on vocals. I'm not a fan of all of his stuff, but he does an admirable Axl impersonation. His range is really hard to duplicate. It will be good to see the guys perform with Gilby too. Haven't seen him in awhile. He is an important member in GNR history.

Of course I would have preferred to have Axl and Izzy there, but you take what you can get. Life goes on. Do you think they'll dedicate a song to Axl? Maybe "Your Crazy?"

    :rofl-lol: :rofl-lol: :rofl-lol: :rofl-lol:

  8. I don't think it's a coincidence that Duff didn't get to play on any AFD songs, and I'm pretty sure that, judging by the videos we got so far, the only time Axl looked in Duff's direction was when singing "break your heart in two".

The saddest part of it was when Duff was being introduced, he kinda looked at Axl to see how he felt, and Axl just pointed his hand towards him and didn't even turn his head in his direction, then looked down.

I was hoping it would be more emotional on his part, but I'm happy we got to see them on the same stage after all these years.

Having said that, bring back Bucket, Robin and Brain!

They could have had a more emotional reunion privately?? Before or after the show, who knows! Only they do :)
