In my defense, the video that YouTube has up about Slane 2017(The one I linked too), the crowd was dead. Half of the crowd didn't react at all, and the other half of the crowd looked like they were politely cheering.

Omg, you’re the expert on that, right? :D I was there at the rail and had been standing in the rain with no cover since the morning afraid that the rain will completely ruin my ticket. Then ran/slid down the hill covered in mud to make it to the rail.

Politely cheering? Lmao, that’s not true. Listen for once to the people that were there.

I’m sure you’ll say now that it was impossible that we stood in the rain all day, because there’s no rain in the video and you can’t see the mud either. :D

Once again, I wasn't talking about REPLACING Axl. Just mentoring someone to be LIKE him, kind of like how Ariana Grande was at a time considered to be like Mariah Carey vocally. ☺️

I’ve seen too many videos where people try to copy Axl’s singing voice with a lot of practice or the ones titled “How to sing like Axl Rose”. No. Just no. No way in hell. None of them come even close. Maybe they sound similar to general public, ok, but they’re deaf.

There’s no way to copy Axl’s unique voice and style, I don’t care how much mentoring you’d get. He’s truly one of a kind and not even starting here to discuss his vocal range.

How is it not different? The US saying "We don't want you here" and turning people away is very different to any country that prevents it's citizens from leaving because it wants to control them.

And in the case of China it’s not only that they can’t leave the country, but also the Hukou system, which restricts the citizens from moving within the country. There are some limited reforms, but it’s still there.

I wonder how can you judge a whole society if you've been there just for a month or so, didn't interact with their people, do not know what is really like living there and you watch all of it from the limited lens of your western mind.

Painting China as a monster is part of the job of discrediting this huge country that has been rising up and turning into the fear of Western bullies.

Unlike other superpowers, China has never tried to invade other countries and they seem very respectful of other cultures. So I do not agree with Axl, that China is coming and bringing their "oppressive force" with them. That's the twisted Western (U.S.A.) interpretation but it does not translate to reality. At least, not by now.

Axl fails to understand the Chinese culture. He thinks everybody has to be act western, or follow the USA's way of living. There's nothing more wrong and more oppressive than that. Let people be whatever they want to be, with their religion, their culture, their customs, their idiosincracy. They do not bother you, they do not try to impose their beliefs onto anyone else, unlike certain superpowers, who think they rule the world and their views of life are the only ones that are valid.

Umm.. Wait, what!?  China has never tried to invade other countries and seem respectful? I assume you’ve never been there? Or read the news?

I went there for the first time in 1992, just in time to see it before the huge reforms going on at the same time started to take effect.

I also finally managed to get a travel permit to Tibet a few years ago. I think e.g. the Tibetans would gravely disagree with your statement.  Having seen the destruction of old Lhasa and the snipers on the roofs with my own eyes and the check points around the countryside roads, it’s just ridiculous to claim that China is a nice country that never invaded anyone. Tibet is only one example of more current history. Maybe you want to look into the history of China too?

From my own experience, I would say that the article is quite spot on. But maybe you have more insights into this. :)

They’re also all over Africa, buying the countries with money this time and not invading in the normal way. In general what I’ve seen and heard they are quite racist too.

I'm having mixed feelings on this subject............... Was the audience boo-ing when the show was stopped? Did some kind of riot begin?

As far as I know, the audience took it pretty well :shrugs:. It is quite understandable that some people, or the majority of them, would be disappointed because you don't expect for a one time show thing to stop abruptly, unless it is some kind of inevitable disaster.

This is not the case, though. Axl was feeling sick and he warned the audience about it. He tried to offer the show for as long as he could. His effort is appreciated, but maybe it was not the best decision to be made. Or it could have been handled better. All in all, I'm not sure why there are so many people in this forum throwing insults at the Abhu-Dabhi audience and taking it so much to heart, as if Axl was their dad or something.

Whatever is posted on Twitter it is fucking irrelevant to this matter. Twitter is not the official voice of a concert crowd. Twitter does not represent a whole city, or country or even a group of people. Each person is responsible for what they say or tweet if they do it through their personal account. They can say whatever the hell they want. Doesn't Axl use Twitter to say whatever the hell he wants and the nutswingers are always fighting for his 'freedom of speech'??

It really bothers me to read some shit..... especially when the band themselves have thanked Abhu-Dabhi for being supportive, for giving Axl positive vibes to pull through, etc...... and here we have people in the forum talking shit about other people they don't even know.... I mean.... yeah, some of those tweets are pretty unfair and ill-intentioned but why give credit to those few assholes? They are a fucking minority and represent no one but themselves.

Hopefully Axl will be recovered for next show and this whole mess will be over and forgotten.
It's a drag to keep reading the preaching of the holier-than-thous.

You say that whatever was posted on Twitter is irrelevant and then go on to post Duff’s and Slash’s Tweets..?    Of course they’re not irrelevant, do you know how fast they spread?

Axl’s surely not my dad, but I do know he gets nowadays way more than his share of crap, which he doesn’t deserve. So, as a long time fan I do get annoyed. Especially if he’s getting it unnecessarily when he’s really making an effort and he is sick as a dog. And yes, I do jump in to defend him when it’s due.

As far as I’ve seen, the reactions have been towards the whiners on Twitter who complain about Axl ending the show short. That’s not the same thing as the entire Abu Dhabi audience.

  6. Happy birthday to Chinese Democracy, by far the best album I’ve ever bought!! :axl::wub: And the only GNR album where I don’t skip any songs. :P

I bought it the day it was released. Couldn’t believe my eyes when I finally had it in my hands. I had it playing in the car CD player before I even left the mall parking lot. After that I actually listened to it every day until December 2010 when I was on a work trip and involuntarily missed a day. Damn work, messes up everything.

Madagascar is the true uncrowned masterpiece of the album.  For me it’s the other GNR song that literally saved my life. :headbang:

I really hope it's Michael Monroe and his band for Finland.. :headbang:

Michael is Slash's friend, they even played together in Finland in 2010 and 2015. He also knows Axl from the 90's. So I can't see why not!

He said in a recent interview that he has emailed Slash about that and would be willing to do at least one country. ;)

  8. Never been into AC/DC, to me the songs have always been a bit boring and sounded too similar. Honestly, I only went to see the concert to listen to the amazing vocals and it was well worth it.

It's been a fun side project, I really love  the positive feedback and it makes me really happy to see Axl enjoy it! :) But I also can't wait to have him back singing the music I love. Although I must admit some songs like Back in black are slowly starting to grow on me, but they're still very far from GN'R songs.
