I still listen to punk - Misfits, Sex Pistols, Ramones, the Stooges, up to bands like the Descendents and NOFX. I veered off into all sorts of hardcore too (like Fugazi and a ton of newer stuff).

I don't listen to it as much as I used to, but I'm still a punk at heart.

As for the Taken By Trees cover of SCOM, I should be biased, being a big fan of Victoria Bergsman's voice...but I actually didn't like it. I think it's overly simplistic and too haunting for that particular song. I've always thought the original was perfect as it is and therefore a song that only really talented musicians should touch - The Concretes/Victoria is not particularly that. She's good at what SHE does, which is very simple, haunting, darker-sounding indie. I'm not knocking her, but I think the minimizing of the song and breaking it down actually went a little TOO far, far beyond the 'bare bones' of it.
