Robin had his moments, unfortunately most of them occured in the recording studio. There are a few things here and there but for the most part I like DJs style more. DJ is the closest to a blues hard rock guitarist, which is exactly what GNR needs imo

My two cents, robin is a good guitarist but doesn't fit the classic GnR sound. He butchered most of the slashes work. Dj was a fan of the original GnR, he has a similar style to slash and maybe imitates him too much but who hasn't imitated an idol just a little bit. He fits the sound, looks the part and in my opinion was a great addition. Robin is no doubt a great guitarist but for me just didn't fit. Some of his work on the cd stuff is great, but for me he killed the old stuff and you gotta be able to play both, dj can.

Signed. Great community on the whole. Hope all this bs that is going on doesn't bring down the band and stop any creative juices that may be flowing right now. As curious as the next person to know the ins and outs of what's going on but what I'm reading seems too wrong!

We need some tangible news soon before this forum goes to shit! So much guess work going on bit what's new there. Having the privilege of meeting ashba this year he told me US tour and album to follow. Would be great if that happens but with GnR you never quite know what's next. Guess that's why we all keep coming back to this forum!!
Im pro old and new GnR followed for 20yrs In all forms and enjoy the music we have been given, hoping for more as most fans do.

I'm hoping for something less complicated than CD and Illusions. More rock n roll with maybe a ballad in there, something with a WTJ feel and some sort of Estranged sequel. Would like to hear some Ashba riffs similar to those he laid down on the Sixx Am album.
I love that every GNR album has a different feel, evolution of music. I just hope we don't have to wait for the next evolution of man for the next GNR album to be released. :-)

Went to two concerts with people who weren't GnR fans and they both are now. Saw Axl and Duff reunite for one last time. Realized Axl's voice is better live in the flesh than on YouTube vids and got to meet dj at an after party. For me it's been a great year for GnR and I'm sick off these anti axl article writers in magazines. I'm not saying worship the guy, I'm just saying give an honest account of events, dont slag off concerts that I went to and witnessed 90 percent of people having a great time, falsy saying the band sucked and the crowd didn't enjoy it. Don't tell me CD is a shit album that's bummed because your more into shit like fallout boy or whatever. I'm 27 loved guns since I was 7 (cheers dad) so I know what I like, sick of reading articles that falsy slag off the band. Anyways rant over, peace and love to all. Merry Xmas my fellow gunners!!

When I met him at the o2 in London he said he plans to stay around to record a new album so hopefully that will happen within the next few years. He seems to be loving playing for GnR so I can't see him changing his mind at the moment.

I personally think they will do some sort of tour in the US next year and then take a break and head into the studio and maybe end of 2012/13 we will see a new album. I'd take that.
New Sixx Am album is out next year so I wonder if DJ will mini tour that album or whether they will just play at Crufest

I will post the pic. Not sure how to from my iPhone. Need my pc! I didn't realise he was going until my lady text me and said look out for DJ. He had ringside tickets and was wearing the usual onstage gear, bandana and top hat. Looked like a dude. Some recognized him but many didn't.
Made my week! After going to two of the best concerts of my life I get to meet a hero..sadly still waiting for a fucking taxi!

I don't post much but thought I would tonight after meeting DJ at the ufc VIP bar. Went to both GNR concerts this week and had s great time. I saw DJ in the crowd tonight and thought if I see him I need to say hi.
So I'm in the bar and he is there with a hot blonde. Asked him for a photo and started chatting. I asked him what's next and apparently they plan to tour USA next year. I then went for a killer question "do you plan to stick around and record a new album?". He said yes that's the plan so hopefully that will happen.
I also asked him of it's possible to get one of his hats from somewhere but apparently they are custom made! Shame as alrhought it wouldn't suit me, I want one
Anyways he seemed like a great guy. I will post a pic layer for those who don't believe. Peace

I think it's a good thing in terms of GnR promotion. Gets DJs casual or non GnR fanbase access to info on the back catalogue, they cany buy them, sure, but a google search takes 30seconds. Also shows that he loves being a part of the band which is cool in my opinion.
