on the back there should be a copyright date. the originals say copyright 1987, if it was re-issued in 2008 or whatever then the re-issue would say copyright 1987,2008.

i had to buy the re-issue coz i wore out the original copy. its just hangin on my wall now, haha.

Anyways, do you know how much an original one might be generally worth? I mean I'm not expecting it to be a lot, and it's not like I'm going to sell it, but I was just curious of what a rough estimate might be.

i mean it all depends on the condition. i only paid $5 for mine and it had a few scratches, one song skipped a little, but nothin major. and since yours was opened [im assuming?] it wont be worth more than maybe $15? sealed it might go for about $40-50, but thats just my guess.....

I personally prefer the older releases Eg the uk version with the cross sticker

or the Japanese sticker sheet AFD

Value probably about $50US for some of the originals maybe more for the Japanese sticker sheet version

New versions are probably worth about $25US but might grow in value

Okay, so apparently I don't know crap about vinyl records, as you are about to find out. :xmassrudolph: *read on*

So... I had a few questions.

I was at this market-thingy the other day and they had a TON of old vinyl records for sale, and they happened to have one copy of appetite left, and I got it for 5 bucks. Not bad, eh?

Anyways, I had a few questions.

First of all, how exactly can you tell if the vinyl is an original 1987 copy, or if it's a new re-issued copy? From my understanding, the new re-issued copies have a parental advisory label, and the older ones from the original release do not. Mine does not have the parental-thingy. Ok.

So the next question is: (this is where they start getting dumb), why is there a number/serial code type thing written on the actual record itself? I know it's nothing unusual, but I was just wonderin' what was up with that.

Also, is there really any significant difference in value from the original released vinyls (1987) and the newly released vinyls?

^it's a hard one to come by, seen one on eBay about three weeks ago. It's one of the less common AFD era tour shirts.
