I said its kinda the same ballpark as in i class that fantasy level geek ass shit on the same level of lame-o-ness
It has more in common with Jaws than what you're talking about, you're such a disappointment sometimes.
You think she's impressive, you should see her hairdresserMy dog wipes his ass with your pillow.

Wait, are you lumping the Alien franchise in with the Star Wars/Trek?
Yes, well done dear, well spotted
Anyone who doesn't like Aliens can go dieAnyone that wants me to die is gonna hafta come out from behind their computer first so pardon me if i don't shit my pants just yet. Actually, i think its quite fitting that a Black Sabbath fan would like Aliens. Its kinda the same ballpark for me, all that Aliens and the supernatural and all that witchey wizardy sataney bullshit. Oooh, a fat aging alcoholic with make up on singing about ghosties and ghoulies
The Alien films aren't 'supernatural witchey wizardy sataney bullshit'. God you're clueless.
The Hurt Locker is excellent. Kathryn Bigelow is finally getting her dues.come on you only know her because she fucked James Cameron.
No, I know her because she directed and co-wrote the wonderful Near Dark and the flawed but still damn impressive Blue Steel, and because she directed the magnificent and bizarrely underappreciated Strange Days. Plus she directed two of my favorite Homicide: Life on the Streets episodes. She is in fact, one of the strongest (and least retarded) action directors in American film.

I love every self-indulgent second of Coppola's Dracula.

I don't really get the HP hate train. Yeah, the first few books/films, but numbers 4 or 5 onwards could really go for most audiences.
I'm weird like that, i have this thing in me that...makes me violently sick and wretch and freak out at the mention of all that sword and sorcery bullshit, i dunno why. I'm like that with a lot of Sci Fi too. I guess I, by and large, like...i dunno, social realism? Does that sound pretentious, it does, doesn't it? No but, you know what i mean, its at least gotta be people doing people shit. I dunno, i'm not really sure i can put it into words. I liked Terminator, Total Recall, Preadator etc as a kid so i'm not totally adverse to it but...like, OK, Aliens, what the fuck is that about? Star Trek, Star Wars, i literally can't sit through, its so fucking boring to me that i can't follow the storyline.

I am suprised, the trailer looks like absolute shit (shit as in dreadful Sabbath), though I expect it will end up rotten as more reviews come in.
I'm a genius! I must admit, I enjoyed it for the thoroughly amiable mess that it is, though.
You're gona love RZ's H2 then!
I think it's going to be even worse than H1 and that's just a world of hilariously awful possibilities...

Excepting a handful of songs, Oasis are run of the mill and the most overrated band ever. Period. Or at least they're tied with U2.
i'd kiss you if i didn't feel this sisterly kind of love for you
I think of you as a sister too.

Coldplay, Creed, Nickelback...actually, virtually every mainstream rock act that's emerged over the last decade puts me into a coma.

I wasted a perfectly blissful high watching Southland Tales today.
Did anyone actually enjoy that pretentious, poorly contrived, piece of shit?
I enjoyed Sarah Michelle Gellar's performance, which is not something I generally get to say about her film work. But the movie itself is a titanic mess.

You're not allowed in this thread anymore.
Saw Disgrace which was deeply mediocre, though Malkovich is magic as usual.

Who uses wank to mean awesome?
I'm from America where it is not uncommon for someone to use a "negative" word to make something sounds good.

GTFO
WALT!! LEMME OUT WALT!!! BLURRGABLURRGABLURRGA!!
Every other actor in that film besides Clint were awful.
IMO, he was also awful, just slightly less spectacularly. But only slightly. God I hated that movie.

Found Public Enemies largely flat and uninspired. And horrendously photographed. But pretty much every aspect of it was...lacking. Mann is losing his mojo at an alarming pace.
Acting?
Yes.
-
Follow You Down, The Killer - Twilight Singers
Everyone, Glad Tidings - Van Morrison
The Future, Anthem, Everybody Knows, I'm Your Man, Suzanne, Waiting for the Miracle etc - Leonard Cohen
Pale Blue Eyes, I Found a Reason, Sweet Jane etc - Velvet Underground

Are PJ Harvey or Liz Fair any good?
Most certainly. Also rec Darling Violetta, The Donnas, Fiona Apple, The Breeders, Cat Power, and April March.
-
Watched The Ambassador, which is one of the most mesmerizingly godawful films I've ever seen. Which is saying quite a bit.

17 Again. Cute. Endearing.
Sorry, sorry...not supposed to talk about watching movies with any sentimentality cuz its bad for the image huh? *puts forehead on hers and holds onto her head* lets practise our mean faces, rrrrrrrrrrrrrrr, rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!! *shadow boxes around her* i'm the boss, i'm the boss, i'm the boss, i'm the boss, i'm the boss, i'm the boss, i'm the boss
The only thing that shit has going for it is the radiant minxiness of Michelle Trachtenberg. Clumsy, overt sentimentality is the least of it's shortcomings.
