My ears are usually a reliable source for me! Shame they let me down this time
that's how it starts...
I'm too young for my ears to fail on me!
-
GNR/Wrestlemania rumors are not new, and not credible either.
I was going by what (I thought) I heard last night when I was at RAW... sitting too close to the pyrotechnics can't have helped matters with my ears, but I heard what sounded like Chinese Democracy on the promo for WrestleMania being shown on the JumboTron and thought I'd share it here. It was only after watching RAW on TV later that I noticed it actually wasn't CD... My ears are usually a reliable source for me! Shame they let me down this time

Thank the lord it wasn't GNR.
Wrestling sucks.
Each to their own, but WrestleMania would've been huge publicity for GN'R, which is always a good thing...
-
Sorry guys, It wasn't CD, I watched RAW on TV afterwards and it definitely wasn't. Hearing it live it sounded awfully like CD though.
yes, the new stuff is that indistinguishable that it gets confused with someone else's tunes...
No, it's not that at all, the slight hazard of a noisy crowd around you and not intently listening to the music...

Yeah, they used the title track for the theme song for the WWE Armageddon PPV in December of '08. WrestleMania is a HUGE stage for any artist, you're talking about 80,000 people in attendance and millions watching around the world. It's great exposure for anyone...
Yeah using the theme for WrestleMania is probably the best promotion you can get!
-
you were at raw?
tell me wat happens cuz i can't watch, got too much studying to do.
and wasn't WTTJ played as seth green's theme song once?
I don't want to risk spoiling the results for anyone, sorry!

I was at Monday Night RAW's taping earlier this evening, and couldn't help noticing the WrestleMania promos are using Chinese Democracy as the soundtrack.. could be a lovely bit of promotion given that WWE tends to do really cheesy plugs via the commentary team & sometimes the Superstars

I was there, and oh my god was it magnificent! I thought axl's voice sounded pretty good on the vids, but hearing it live was just amazing.. you really have to hear him live to get just how great his voice is right now. The setlist was pretty tight, but my jaw dropped when they started playing Nice Boys, I've never heard that live! Highlight of the night for me was probably Nightrain, though it's very hard to choose!
-
Haha! I certainly can, though I'd prefer the night train!
-
I'm travelling 200miles back home from uni just for this concert.. The tubes not running that late are a tad annoying... but i'll take the 4 night buses home if it means I get to see GN'R!
-
Whatcha gonna do, brother, when Guns, Roses N' Hulkamaniacs run wild on YOU?
-
His vocals were shit on November Rain for some reason but everyone around me was loving it. They were arm in arm singing along. He sounded a bit off on WTTJ as well but on Rocket Queen, This I Love, Sorry, Street of Dreams, Nightrain... wow.
Axl's voice on NR was amazing, especially in the outro!
-
God this is awesome! Chinese Democracy tracks actually being shown by the BBC!
-
I'm going to the show at the O2, got my ticket
-
In the past week i've heard the following on Kerrang*:
November Rain x2
Sweet Child O' Mine x1
Welcome to the Jungle x2
Better x1
Estranged x1!!!!
EDIT: Used to Love her just came on
*I live in London, a deprived area of the UK for decent music... sadly

Interesting that he mentions Oh My God.
And Silkworms.
He also said about re-worked guitars in Silkworms, we knew they were still fiddling about with that. I never noticed that he said Oh My God until there now, it suggests that they're still working with it.
Yea, didn't Tommy or someone say they were still working on OMG a while ago?
What actually happened was that someone gave him a list of titles that included those two, and Axl said which ones are real.
I don't know what he meant by Down On The Ocean (Izzy). There is one Izzy solo song (called Box) that has a line in the chorus saying "he lives in a box down by the ocean". Might be referring to that.
Supposedly Izzy recorded vocals on a song called Down By The Ocean. Title's been thrown around for a few years I believe.
Could also be referring to Sweet Caress:
"Lookin' at the ocean blue
Sittin' thinking' here of you
Cast in light down from the moon
Sweet caress the ocean blue
Just a stolen moment through
Coldest night the fullest moon
I can tell you why it happened
Somethings been pullin' me to you
No apologies have been requested
Far beneath a yellow moon
Feeling out the ocean blue
Felt you coming through and new
Kind of frozen dream of you
Lookin' on the ocean blue
Sail away and think of you
Sweet caress the ocean blue
And I know it's not the last time
Somethings been pullin me to you
Tried ta hold it back a long time
Far beneath the silver moon
I have seen a million faces
Somethings been pullin' me to you
Like an ocean pulin' me in&
Sweet caress the ocean blue
Sweet caress the ocean blue
Sweet caress the ocean blue"

Friends...
I've just read on a website that GNR's gig in Osaka was an hoax.
The reporter could prove it pointing that so much awesomeness in one room would cause a black hole that would swallow the earth.
Therefore this show could not have happened!!
link?
With love,
not working.
:rofl-lol:

Not an Axl update as such... but Ron posted this:
@axlrose Perry Mason
Perhaps they'll be performing that at the next show? rock1
-
do you think theyld do an encore, it doesnt say on htgth if theyve done one? they just done paradise city
Paradise city generally means the end
-
I wanna know if Axl sounds as great as yesterday.
I thought concert was 2 days ago?
Maybe referring to the secret concert axl gave via twitter?
-
No This I Love makes me sad !
There's still time
There was a time

Praying for If The World as an encore.
That needs to be a staple in the set list
Wouldn't The General be the most awesome encore? :xmasssanta:
Let's not get crazy now
Don't know what to expect in Guns N' Roses: Live Era '09-'10
