  1. I’ve always been a little lost on the whole YouTube reporting shit. I can’t get past the very simple explanation that the band okays acts like this.

Why would Facebook or YouTube give a shit if the artist wants this material up?  I’m either really stupid, or simplistic realistic.. I think It’s the latter, but who knows..

The band is against its fans. Simple, and done.

True, but if the drummer is told "play at this speed" and he's the employee and they are the boss? I mean, Frank plays some stuff that I don't like, but I think we all know that Slash and Duff are the captains of how the band sound, and they want the songs played up a few bpm. When Stinson ran the ship, the band played slower and tighter; Frank was still playing stuff people didn't like, but the tempo was pretty rock solid for the most part.

I hear ya. I’m not a musician, so I’m not cluttered by all the technicalities ;) ha

Then Slash and the Duff need to speak up! I always wonder.. what is going through their heads when they hear those vocals during live performances. Think I know.. $$$$

  3. Met Bumble too. The first Vegas residency, after the show wife and I were checking out the cool Guns/Axl exhibits in the Hard Rock and we were by the main entry doors to the stage venue. Bumble and wife, friend and wife come right out those doors. I know exactly who he is.. not many people on the casino floor did.. and we chatted for about 15 mins. Foot told me that his friend was the creator of the big screen video production behind which Bum fronted his song in the set. Cool! He’s cool.  I didn’t even think of it, but he suggested we take a few pictures together in front of a Guns display. I was stoked because he was just such a nice guy. I have a “Youre awesome!” attitude when I can tell the celebs are into meeting the fans. If he would’ve been a dick, I wouldn’t have given him two seconds of my time.

My other band member encounter was with the legend, Dizzy Fuckin’ Reed. He played a cool keyboard set at a little bar, and afterwards he and his wife hung out for hours. I had to approach him. This was in April (?) 2012, a week before you know what, and I went in.. “You gonna be in Cleveland next week..?” This was while there was no official word on if Rose would show up to the thing. Dizzy shook his head slowly from side to side, and looked ‘bummed’. I had the inside scoop! A few days later, Axl’s letter was posted. Dizzy’s wife was once a teacher, as are my wife and I, so the ladies had a nice discussion. Dizzy, a nice guy as well.

  4. I take it to mean he’s never voted. Ever. Is he voting Red at 18 years old in Indiana.. as he’s running from the cops and hating authority? Don’t think so. Is he voting for Reagan in the 80s while living in Los Angeles in massive blowout elections.. Nah. I could see him voting for Clinton in 1992 because MTV Rock the Vote, but you have to personally get off your ass to vote and Axl was flying round the world. The rest of the elections after that.. as the Man says.. California is sealed, signed and delivered to the Democrats, so again as the Man says - He’s never voted (in 2012).

  5. Novermber Rain. That’s a great start to this thread. I liked it when I was 13, but was disappointed sorta when that’s what they played live at the MVA’s. Great lyrics, great song, and I was born on Nov 29th — the same date as that famous Columbia’s downpour show. It’s weird that that’s the song I’m most tired of. I could listen to Jungle and Sweet Child for lifetimes and they never grow old, but NR...nope.  And it’s a lot of people’s’ all time favorite GNR track. I get it, but it’s been one of my least favorites for 25 years now.

2006 to me feels like the last time it was watching Axl be Axl. He looked great, the band sounded great, and he was mixing the rasp with the incredible screams from '02. And it seemed like Chinese was actually imminent. He was also more outgoing and accessible publicly it seemed - actually doing something like the Trunk interview, the occasional public appearance, etc.

Not to disparage 2010, because his energy, and obviously, vocals were still there - but in 2006 he still had such a cool rockstar aura around him.

Getting some good 2006 footage put up on Youtube would be godly, especially the Gibson Amphitheatre shows like already mentioned.

You’re right! First and last time time he successfully reinvented himself!
