ITW 2012

Went and saw Prometheus last night. Visually it is amazing, however the aliens look terrible. Basically it was another piece of shit movie though. Fortunately for Hollywood, people don't seem to care about story anymore. I should also give credit to Michael Fassbender for putting in another great performance, but that's it.

Their best songs are as good or better than any other band's best songs. If I could go back in time and see anybody, it would be a toss up between The Doors and Jimi Hendrix.

That was is pretty fly. I'd love to hear the band with just Richard on lead and Izzy on rhythm.

I guess I've listened to a lot of live shows from the CD Tours, because I always hear the pyro when I listen to YCBM now.

Does anybody else hear pyro and Arnold when they listen to You Could Be Mine? I've listened to that song so many times live (in person and on youtube), in addition to the music video, that when I listen to it off of Use You Illusion II, I hear the piro and Arnold! Today I even figured out what youtube clip was going to be Whole Lotta Rosie based on what the lights looked like in the picture.

I have all of their albums, yet I rarely ever listen to them. What's the big deal about this band? They definitely aren't in the same league as Pink Floyd.

We've had the Ron vs. Bucket poll may times and Bucket always wins. Ron is a great guy, no doubt about it, but I hate his solos on the Chinese Democracy album.

Yeah and it sounded pretty shitty every other time they played it live, too.

Before you had Robin so it wasn't too bad but now both pieces are gone instead of one.

No one can ape Robin's style and no one can play as cleanly as Buckethead.

I don't think it will. Axl seems to feel like he can't sing that one live. Otherwise it would have been a staple since it's the centerpiece song on Chinese Democracy.

TWAT is hardly historic. Not like they haven't played it before. Jesus the bar has well and truly dropped with this band.

If the new Van Halen album can't sell, then that absolutely means that rock just doesn't sell albums anymore because their new album is amazing.

No, what it means is the majority of people who buy music (teenagers and 20-somethings) don't want to get into their parents' bands, they want newer bands they can call their own. You also can't expect people in that same teens/20's age group to relate to guys in their 40's and 50's.

Check out sales of Coldplay's Mylo Xyloto and Foo Fighters' Wasting Light, you'll then realize rock definitely does still sell albums.
