I was in the same boat. I used to go to 'Disc Jockey' the record store to find out if they had heard anything about a new one. I really wish we would have gotten the '99 album. IMO That was the defining year for the new band. If he had put it out the members would have stuck around (possibly) and things might be a LOT different for GN'R.

I feel your pain. In the pre-internet era, I used to ask the local record shop for info regarding the next GNR album on a weekly basis. I liked OMG when it came out, I would love to hear the 99 version of the album. I used to check the message boards daily, but now I barely check in. I wonder what went wrong with Axl's original plan, I am sure he has plenty of music stashed away. I am less sure about the lyrics, however...

Not that impressed. I listened to Shackler's, Prostitute, and TWAT, and didn't like them. Don't know what all the hype is about. On a side note, in TWAT why is the lyric "nevermind who gave you head" muddled in the original and blanked out on this remix. I think it is a good line that should be clearer. Like I said, just a side note.

Let's be honest here. The Anything Goes community is what is keeping this place alive. I know for a fact over half of this forum never even visits this section anymore, because, it's the same old shit, different day.

Now, back around 06, this section was popping because of the leaks and anticipation for CD to be released. Now that it's out, it's just meh. While I enjoy the new music, there's no way CD could have lived up to expectations. No way, no how. That's why we want more band to community communication. We don't get that(with the exception of Bumblefoot, he's a helluva guy). Hell, the official Guns N' Roses website is never even updated.

There could be a monthly contribution from BBF. I am sure he would be happy to arrange a few hours a month to answer questions here. Why are the news reporters here not going out there and getting interviews with other band members. It is not that diffucult. What about mygnr interviews with people that worked on CD, what were their experiences? That is not so difficult to arrange. Where is the energy?

The main mygnr website should be passed aside to a forum member who would be happy to update it. The forum page should be updated too, I am sure there is a member here who would do it for free.

It is about having the gusto to go out there and do something. There is money now to support the forum, now let's see some fizz. If Eric does not have the capacity for this, then delegate. Nothing comes without effort.

I didn't know Axl chated with fans on the early 2000s (or late 90's, I don't know). As you were there Nintari, would you mind telling more about it?

There may have been more then one, but I think I'd remember that considering I was there constantly. The one time I was referring to wasn't really a "chat". He created a thread shortly after OMG released, asking all of us what we thought of it. He responded to me and maybe a few others, I can't remember but that was it. After a few days the entire thread became nothing but a complete disaster and Ed (the lone webmaster/moderator at the time) locked it after several pages of "fuck you Axl/the song sucks ass/you ruined GNR" comments.

That was pretty much the entire gnronline forum. It was like the wildwest. The only person who even attempted to moderate it was Ed and he wasn't even a moderator. I remember it got so bad that people started posting hard core porn as fucking thread titles lol. You would log in and the whole page was hard core porn. Ed would log in and clean it up and then as soon as he logged out, bam...it was all back. It was fucking crazy. I worked with Ed for awhile as sort of a temp mod, but there was no stopping it. I eventually quit going there when it was unusable and that's around the time Axl's home phone got posted and it was then shut down.

Oh yeah, you know that stalker that harassed Axl? The one who ended up in his house, naked in his kitchen or whatever? She use to post there late at night as "lolly". You wanna talk about some weird ass/creepy shit..you should have seen her threads lol.

As far as reporting negative, truth revealing articles, there ARE no censorships in the US. The Iraq and Afghan leaks were a year old - outdated information with names of informants etc. removed.

The diplomatic cables have sensitive names removed and only public figures like ambassadors and aides remain in them. They have nothing to do with military strategy except in the most basic of terms, nor the allied forces and are simply embarrassing to the United States, whilst proving the nation's diplomats can be very two-faced - something already known in political circles.

Have you even fucking read them? They don't give positions or troop movements or any strategic info. The Iraq/Afghan war logs could have been used to build a picture of where forces were... except that, again, no current info was ever released by Wikileaks. It was a retrospective.

The Afghan documents were leaked in the summer and not a single death has come of them.

And yes, the leaks should be celebrated, because for once, the Internet has lived up to its potential as a world-changing medium, not just a host of forums for fucktards to bitch about bands and idiots to post drunken photos of their nights out on failbook.
