Today FM playing GNR regularly and talking about the gig. Pointing out that Slash will NOT be there and that he is playing Vicar Street. No mention of who is now in the band and they are not playing any tracks from CD. Kind of annoying. I think we should pester them to play Better.
Yeah that really bugs me whenever theres any mention of the GNR show or even slash's gig all they'll play is Sweet Child.

Man those guys got such a hard time it was funny. Remember the singer got jeered and booed the whole show.He walked off midway through the last song from all the shit he was getting. And i ain't that "worried" about it dude.
-
wonder who'll be supporting them.Hope they're better than the support acts in the RDS, christ FFAF were terrible
-
im not bashing the guy at all or denying his musical ability, im just wondering if a second second keyboard player is absolutely necessary for touring, its a valid argument.
-
You kind of answered your own question. Someone has to play the tracks and he is a band member so why not do it on stage.
How about we have Bumble playing offstage as he has alot of overdubs.
ok so by your logic then when the solo for shacklers comes around you hear it but dont see Bumble.I really dont think thats the same as hearing some 10 second synth in the intro to chinese democracy and not seeing Pitman
-
yea but come on, in most vids iv seen he's just there banging a tambourine, surely not that essential.By all means I think he's great for studio work but just dont take him on the road. the same with Teddy Zig Zag back in the illusions days, he played harmonica on bad obsession and that was it pretty much for rest of the show.

Is Chris Pitman really necessary on this latest tour. I mean surely dizzy is enough.Granted there are plenty of effects on some of the CD songs but surely that could all be done from the side of the stage without an additional keyboard/synth player.
-
I emailed the odyssey in belfast about 2 months ago to tell them about the tour. Im officially taking full credit for this concert.
You're welcome.
haha nice one

hasnt axl been spotted a few times in ireland over the last few years??

I thought the 1st was a wednesday??!Anyway yeah ur right it means a few days of solid drinking

great venue though.the o2 is so much better than the old point.I remember seeing VR there back in 2005 and the sound was crap.On another note this probably means the start of a UK tour.

haha yeah a trip around dublin and a quick mugging from some of the local junckies and knackers around parnell square. Axl should try and cram the whole crew into O'Donoghue's for a pint.Best traditional pub in dublin with the best pints of guinness

It seems every leg a staple leaves.
Eh? What did they take out before South America?
Well We Got Catcher/TWAT in Canada, neither In south America.
Why dont they play IRS more often, i think Axl Nails It.
yeah I think IRS is one of Axl's better CD songs live

Here's hoping for My World!!

Axl leaving his hotel this afternoon to make it to the venue early

Robin was rubbish live but pretty decent in the studio, I think the majority will agree on that. From what I've seen so far DJ is working out really well with Guns live.To be honest I've heard little if anything of his own work.I have faith though, I mean if Axl see's potential he must be good.I mean pretty much everyone that has been brought into Guns over the last 15 years or so has been super talented.

very lame

TWAT and CITR is needed every night.
TWAT is my favorite New GNR song and I agree it should be played every night. However, for whatever reason he can't seem to handle it vocally so it goes unplayed. It's a shame.
I agree, as inexcusable as favourites such as Estranged and Civil war not being played regularly is, the two strongest songs on CD IMO should get a look in every so often
-
They should chop and change EVERY song every so often. There's only 4 1/2 (excluding SI) albums worth of material for god's sake, we're not talkin the rolling stones here with loads of material to choose from. Keep things fresh and interesting for everyone. Why the likes of estranged isnt being played occasionally is bizzare.

cheers man, just checked it out.sounds really great for blues based rock.May scrap the amp though for a cheap marshall. Really dont like the line 6.Way too digital and does nothing to compliment the guitars natural sound.
-
I'm looking to get a guitar tone as close as possible to Jimmy Page. Specifically his les paul sound. I've looked everywhere and tried various amp and tone settings. I use a line 6 with a Les Paul plugged in straight which isnt ideal as I know a Page's sound is largely Marshall. Any ideas?? Thanks in advance
