John wouldn't fit with this band at all, and I also feel like he's on a different level than GnR.

He wouldn't do it anyway, as he left RHCP to focus on his solo music and other things.

Their last album was pretty bad, other than that I've been a fan for a while.

Duff playing with Axl doesn't effect Slash, Steven etc. in any way so I don't see why they would or should comment on it.

It's one of my favorite GnR songs, and I realized that the lyrics are very relevant, more so now than before. I'm not surprised that they didn't play it though, it's not really one of their biggest songs. I'd hoped that they would though.

I really don't think so.

I don't go out of my way to listen to either album anymore, there are songs on both that I dislike and there are songs that I love.

But having thought about it there are more songs on "Slash" that I hate, plus that album just sounds like a clusterfuck to me, the songs don't blend at all.

So I vote CD, even though a lot of it sounds cheesy to me.
