"Impossible to recreate the
magic"... Dude, are you for real? You actuallly think that a 50 year old guy could be nr 1 in showbiz in today's world even if he has his most awesome, super cuddly BFF's behind him? I can understand that you're dissapointed - I am too - but seriously, get a fucking grip, man.

I actually just got into this song, and I think Slasherr's video had a lot to do with that. When I first heard it on the album I kinda went "meh", but aftet blasting it througj my headphones I can really appreciate it all. Especially the "nobody owes you, not one god damn thing"-line.
Didn't Axl say that it is not about Slash in the chats?
-
Heh he seems kinda clever I like this

"[...]I do like to explore and consider lots of different concepts, ideologies, belief systems, religions etc, and have an understanding of what others feel, think or believe, but in my opinion, ultimately what one "believes" is their own business." (from the indian interview)
Seems like a great approach to religion and beliefs if you ask me.

For some reason Dizzy's nightrain chat made me lose all interest. Now I'm just checking the forums out of habit.

I've read lots of times how he's supposed to butcher that solo, but I couldn't hear anything wrong with it? I don't like the song at all so I haven't heard the Robin solo for quite a while, but this solo sounded pretty good to me!

It's actually a bit immoral just to waste good money like that, that could be put to use to help save lives... But hey it's his (hard) earned money and Axl probably doesn't give a f@ck about anything these days.
"Immoral"?
With all the money that gets waste en masse in the entertainment industry all day every day for decades upon decades... Axl Rose renting an apartment he wasn't in for 3 years is the thing that's "immoral?"
Maybe not THE thing, but definitly one of them.
-
You guys sure he can do OMG? Considering Axl's voice during the last few tours I'd rather hear Bad obsession.

They were amazing musicians. I used to think they were the best band of all time. Seeing all the songs where they didn't credit the original writers like whole lotta love, dazed and confused, stairway, etc, kinda tainted them for me.
Just because they got some riffs from other people doesnt mean they arent awesome musicians thoLed Zeppelin anyone?
Thieves
They still transformed those songs so previously unimagined heights, so Zeppelin for president in my book.
Topic: well... The governments of yesterday were equaly as paranoid as those of today. They labeled NWA as dangerous too, but that's just cause they didn't realise it was just music so they didn't know how to deal with it. Just cause you got the Eye on you doesn't make you dangerous.
I'd pick a fight with young Jagger 10 times before I'd try something with Axl.

Lies for spaghetti!

is Axl entertaining to follow?
14, 186 posts, dude.

I wonder what Bumble sees in GnR that made it worth sacrificing his health over. They wont even write with him, yet still he goes and fuck his body up so the band can go on.
-
I personally never really dug November rain, but "objectively" I understad that it's a great song.
Prostitute on the other hand I really like, but at the same I can definitly see why others wouldn't.
I voted for Prostitute.

Besides the stuff about him being bullied by the band (which really made me lose a ton of respect for the guys, even Axl called it the most hated band in the world and they're still gonna give the new guy shit? Fuck that, grown men should be able to deal with their emotions in bettet ways, bitching on forums for example ), what did you find so fascinating about this interview? I only glanced through it but to me it seemed like the same old 50 chapters about the color of his guitar and one sentence about GnR saying "sorry, dude. Don't know nothing".

Definitly like it! Way better than all the solos they use to show case the "new" band during the live performances. Can't believe they don't just play stuff like this when Axl needs to rest.
Really liked the Ashba version of Better too (which really, really, really surprised me in positive way!).

And that is really, really confusing and upsetting in a fan forum, right? In this topic a lot of people are letting their fandom level overtake their common sense level.
Topic: Since I can relate to his lyrics even when he's singing about lawyers I'd definitly consider him some sort of genius.

Mick Wall is a great journalist.
Dude, I read his Zep bio and the guy obviously has the mentality an values of a 15 year old...
-
No, looking like he fucking wants to look is all the excuse he needs.

Probably because we don't see him between tours and most folks tend to change their look in some degree over 2-3 years. And he did so in the past as well:
Live 1986
Didn't say which year, but it's from the Cathouse so I'd guess late 80's
And London '92

Maybe you guys could fix it so that people can't quote more than one previous post? Sometimes it'a just fucking ridiculous(spelling?) how much nonsense you have to scroll through before reaching an actual new post.
-
Yeah, it's insane. I'm no musician (spelling?) but it sounds like pretty straight forward easy song which wouldn't require much rehearsal anyway. Still a bloody good song and instead of promoting their solo material(!) at a GnR show it'd cement this lineup. I don't get what's up with Axl. They've obviously got fantastic stuff in that big ol' vault, just let it loose upon us already!!
-
You guys don't like Axl in this? Damn, I think he's spot on! Great song, can't wait to hear this thing properly mixed.
What I really don't get is why they've had Tommy play Motivation (or whatever it is he does) instead of introducing this thing live!
-
Amazing. I had very little faith in Ashba, but if this is a sign of things to come we're in for some good stuff! This version is excellent in my book.
-
Works for me too. I consider CD to be the "worst" (still great in other words) GNR album, but TWAT and Prostitute are still some of GNR's finest moments and to me a very, well, logical progression from UYI.
VR & the solo projects are pretty 'meh' to me (except for some of Izzy's stuff like Shuffle it all), so yeah, I definitly agree with Axl.
What other Neil Young songs would you like Axl to cover?

Three times you said this before somebody answered you. Ever get the feeling that people are fed up with your nagging? Nothing wrong in what you're saying, it's just that you keeping saying the same goddamn thing in every thread.
T: I'd like to hear Axl sing Old laughing lady and just go crazy in the end of it, like he did on Locomotive.
