  1. A long time ago a downloaded the Buffalo show because I was there. The recording just seemed Ok. Last week, I decided to get a physical copy from a Japanese/Asian bootleg site. Even though it was a CD-R pressing, it was a huge upgrade - not sure if this source is circulating.

It was mentioned earlier in the thread but I think this is absolutely the label breaking up the remaining boxes and trying to pass it off as "The AFD Collection". This is totally my guess, but I think the reason the vinyl hasn't shown up yet is because they're going to have the nerve to hold that back and call it a Record Store Day Exclusive in the future.

That’s what I thought, too. Maybe it could be that these discounts have greatly reduced how many boxes are left. 10,000 for $400 isn’t that much of a stretch when you compare them to the Metallica ones that were 30,000 for almost the same price. Maybe UMG had some pieces because I remember some people saying that some items were missing.

Clearly labels keep back more than what’s advertised - example being for the Stone Temple Pilots RSD vinyl that they had to replace due to a pressing error, I got 2 replacements sent for my one copy in the same week?

  3. As someone who followed the band since UYI came out but didn’t get to see them line until 2006, I might be a bit biased in picking Chinese Democracy. I like the build the song gets. Jungle works the same, but I feel it a bit too cliched, at this point. The other old openers like PC either wouldn’t work today because of Axl’s capabilities or the image they have now versus ‘91.  Coma should never open, but Nightrain could be good anyway.

  4. I noticed this, too having had Pit Tickets for Ottawa, TO 1 & 2. In Ottawa (stadium), both pits were packed. They were separate, but security let you pick your side, even telling me that the Duff/Fortus side had way more room when I showed up.

For both TO shows, I was in the Duff/Fortus pits and they used different coloured wristbands to control entry. At the first show, my pit had maybe 15 people in it, and I was super-happy. I overheard the security supervisor saying that this was because the checkers thought all you needed was a wristband, so most people went to the Slash side. For Night 2, it was more full in my pit - but still way more room to move than at my stadium show.
