With the recent celebration of Appetite for Destruction turning 30 years old, we could think of no better guest than one of the unsung heroes who made that album what it was, Mr. Chris Weber. You may not know, but Chris is credited as a co-writer on "Anything Goes" from GN'R's classic debut, as well as "Move to the City" and "Reckless Life." We talk about Hollywood Rose, the band Chris played guitar in alongside Axl Rose and Izzy Stradlin before Guns N' Roses was even a thing, his band U.P.O that formed many years later, and his job now working as a therapist. He drops a LOT of gems from his days with Axl and Izzy that you have never heard before, so you do not want to miss this.
Also on with us is the man that hooked us up with this amazing guest, none other than our friend John Miller. John met Chris while working on the Axl Rose film he his writing that he's spoken about at length with us on past episodes. With John we get into the intimate show GN'R performed at The Apollo, as well as their comeback show in St. Louis.

As some of you may recall, early on in this show’s history when we were first getting started, a journalist by the name of Art Tavana got in touch with us and said he really enjoyed what we did and had some great stories to share. Some of those stories included an incredibly in-depth piece he was working on for LA Weekly on the whereabouts of reclusive guitarist Izzy Stradlin (which has since been published and very well received,) and being right there in the thick of the reunion. Art was one of the extremely lucky 500 audience members watching Axl, Slash, and Duff reunite as Guns N’ Roses at the Troubadour on April 1st 2016. Well, for the first time in this two-part episode, Art Tavana joins us in studio.
This episode however, we are focused on another special guest, none other than Great White guitarist and multi-instrumentalist Michael Lardie. Not only was Michael there during the peak of Great White’s career all the way through the present day, he also was there during the Appetite for Destruction era of Guns N’ Roses. That’s right; Michael gets into mixing songs from Appetite, and even engineering their famous performance of “Welcome to the Jungle” at the MTV VMAs in 1988. We also get into Michael’s history as Night Ranger’s keyboardist from 2003 to 2007, and of all things, Sharknado and Law & Order (you’ll have to listen to find out.) Great White’s newest album “Full Circle” just came out, so be sure to pick it up and support a band that’s still touring and making new music in 2017.

It was an honor to have Dave Kushner join us for this episode, you know him as the guitarist for Velvet Revolver, but he's also played with Danzig, Dave Navarro, and earlier on in his career with hardcore punk band Wasted Youth. Though we're excited to have Dave on, we do delve into the tragic topic of Chris Cornell's very recent passing. Dave himself is no stranger to drug abuse in his own life as well as working with the great Scott Weiland who is no longer with us. Dave gets into his own experience with Chris Cornell before his fame with Soundgarden and also his reaction seeing his former band mates Slash and Duff reunite with G'NR.
Dave's been busy lately creating the theme music for shows like "Sons of Anarchy," "American Grit," and comedian Bill Burr's Netflix series "F is for Family." He's also created an all-star band called Hellcat Saints with members of Linkin Park and Weezer. You can follow Dave on Twitter @DaveKushner66. Beyond the interview, we react to GNR's new leg of the tour. Don't miss this one, and please leave us a review on Apple Podcasts!

Listened to episode 18 the other week and I really enjoyed it. New listener that's for sure, adding this to my list of subscribed podcasts. Just checked out the pretty reckless song in question. Riff isn't a direct ripoff IMO but jesus Christ is it close. Weird coincidence or deliberate?
Thanks Gunner

You beat me to it! Feel free to delete my topic mods, can't seem to do it myself. Hope you guys enjoy. I don't know if The Pretty Reckless song "Oh My God" has been brought up on here, but you won't want to miss our take on that.

Joining us in studio this episode is a very special guest, Jim Rotolo, host of The Wild & the Innocent on Sirius XM E Street Radio, and he’s also heard playing The Rock of New Jersey on 105.5 WDHA. Along with being a diehard Springsteen fanatic, Jim is a true fan of Guns N’ Roses who’s seen the band live during the Use Your Illusion era, and has stuck with them for the many incarnations of the band. He gives his thoughts on what’s impressed him throughout the years and made him stick around for life.
In this episode we discuss some news in the GN’R world, our thoughts on some of the members outside projects, as well as the band taking political stances on stage. Jim also raises the question, does “Oh My God” by The Pretty Reckless sound a tad similar to a song of the same title you’re likely familiar with? You can decide when you hear it. Be sure to follow us on Twitter @TheAFDShow and keep up with all that’s going on in our universe.

I'll just throw in that I like Izzy's vocals over Duff's vocals all day.

Our Guns N' Roses universe brings Rachel Lorin to our NYC iHeartRadio Studio. Scotto hasn't stopped talking about the 22-yr-old rocker since she opened up for Sebastian Bach in Poughkeepsie.
We bring Rachel to the AFD Show to find out how GNR shaped the model/singer/actress' career and how she wants to bring rock music back to mainstream radio. Lorin also joins Brando & Scotto's debate on whether GnR and other iconic bands should still release new music.
Also what does Steven Adler being asked to stop talking about GNR mean? All this and more on episode 17 of Appetite for Distortion! Please subscribe on iHeartRadio & iTunes.

Former Guns N' Roses drummer Steven Adler recently came out with some potentially damning comments regarding the GNR reunion. Well-respected podcaster Mitch Lafon was the one who captured this candid interview. In this episode Brando and Scotto try to get to the bottom of Adler's comments and bring on Mitch to break it down.

Loved doing this show. To be honest, I wasn't having a great weekend and it lifted my spirits to talk GNR. Awesome job @RussTCB - a part 2 with you will happen soon.

Did I just hear one of you say Buckethead might have some mild autism? Buckethead for president 2020. LMFAO
1:30:24 That moment scared the shit out of me.
Great podcast guys, I really enjoyed it. Very funny.
@ArtTavana I hope you can recover from that aids.
That would be me. Hey, I don't say it as a knock, some of the most creative people ever have some possible autism, and there aren't many people more creative than Buckethead. Thanks brother!

Before Scotto heads off to Vegas for the 2017 SHOT Show with the guys from Hurricane Group, he and Brando pack a whole lot into episode 14. With interviews from the vocalist of the heavy metal band Butcher Babies, Carla Harvey, and LA Weekly's Art Tavana, we deliver all that you would expect and more.
Carla gives us a look back into her history growing up, how Guns N' Roses changed her life, and Slash being an inspiration into her career. She covers this in further detail in her book “Death & Other Dances.” You can pick up an autographed copy of that along with some of her badass original artwork at carlaharvey.bigcartel.com
Art Tavana updates us on his Izzy findings, his continued feud with fellow journalist Mick Wall, and we debate the question, is Guns N’ Roses a hair metal band? He’s also determined to get Buckethead to speak for an upcoming piece, as well as get an exclusive from Ronda Rousey after her upsetting loss to Amanda Nunes, good luck with either of those Art! …That's sure to be an easy task.
Hear it all here, and don't forget to follow us on Twitter @TheAFDShow and leave us a review on iTunes!

Joining us on the show is early Guns N’ Roses manager Vicky Hamilton who was there for the beginning days of the band, pre-Appetite for Destruction. She has a new book out about her career, which includes stories working with other bands and artists including Poison, Faster Pussycat, Mötley Crüe, Stryper, and June Carter Cash. It’s called “Appetite for Dysfunction: A Cautionary Tale”, and we get an idea of some of the stories you’ll hear in this book from her.
We also discuss Steven Adler making appearances in South America with the boys, and Kirk Hammett from Metallica taking what some see as a shot at GN’R. More great guests are on the horizon, please leave us a review on iTunes and help us keep this Nightrain rollin’.
