  1. Axl said yesterday that they have been trying to play in Germany for six years and that even in Mönchengladbach (a 'small' city somewhere on the border between Germany and the Netherlands) it was a bitch to get there. Apparently something to do with promoters and managers telling him not to go there and preventing them from playing in Germany.

What's the reason they can only play one gig in Germany, but about 7 in France for example? It's almost like they are being boycotted in Germany.

  2. Great show, the band sounded really tight, Axl was in a great mood and his voice was the perfect mix between his raspy and his 'mickey' voice (people were impressed). Before Shackler's Axl said 'Did ya think that I was coming tonight?'. The crowd started laughing and he said 'Me neither.'

Then it started raining during November Rain and Bumblefoot (wearing a shirt from 'der Deutsche Mannschaft) played some Singin' In The Rain. Axl also said that they've been trying to play a gig in Germany for over 6 years, but that managers and promoters stop him from doing, even this gig was 'a bitch'. All in all an excellent show, I was just a bit dissapointed that they didn't play a longer encore (Patience, Maddy or A Whole Lotta Rosie).

Just listened to the show, Axl was in a poor mood, complaining about the rain, complaining about the fact that they can't get shows in Germany booked, complaining about the slippery stage. When will the man ever grow a pair?

Total bullshit, what's the point in posting such lies?

  3. The Beatles are better than GN'R, though I like GN'R more.

    Still voted for Guns :)

    PS. GNR is losing, bigtime

i didn't say gnr was better than the beatles. i said some line-ups are. and i stand by that, based on their musicianship. could nugnr play every song the beatles did? easily. probably with 8 of their 16 hands tied behind their backs. could george harrison play bumblefoot's solo in shackler's revenge? could ringo do all brain's fills from TWAT? could john lennon sing the high notes in this i love?

try not to take it personally. the beatles were an amazing band for fifty years ago. times change and music progresses.

A song isn't better because it has overly complex guitar solos and drum fills. Don't get me wrong. The various members of NuGNR are very talented, but most times in music less is more. A great thing about The Beatles is that while their work was revolutionary at the time it is still relevant today. Nobody had heard stuff like Sgt. Pepper before when it was released, but the songs endure because of the amazing melodies and lyrics.

I doubt anyone will be talking about Chinese Democracy in fifty years. Not a knock on GNR, but there aren't too many albums that come out now that will be as timeless as The Beatles.

That's exactly what I thought, couldn't have said it better myself.
