Thin Lizzy were great... Now the wait.
I'll update if anything interesting happens, ie izzy / unexpected songs.
-
My first time seeing them tonight, really hoping Izzy shows up again.
I'm glad to see Thin Lizzy are definitely supporting again according to their Facebook.
-
Damn, Izzy tonight. Hope he sticks around for tomorrow too.

Estranged aparently. Thank goodness.

Haven't had any of the Don't Cry/November Rain/Estranged trio yet. Maybe all three in order as the encore? Probably a silly idea, but 'historic' could be all sorts of things.

Lack of Thin Lizzy is incredibly frustrating. They were a large part of the incentive for buying the ticket, and my Dad was looking forward to seeing them as much as Guns.

Well I'm pleased about this at least... don't quite get the negative reaction. So Greenday released one rubbish album with 21st century breakdown, but still what's so terribly wrong?

Regardless of how good or bad they were last year, a festival really shouldn't look to repeat a band over and over again every year. It would be a bit odd if they played next year.

Ticket bought. Seating to appease my Dad's knees, but still really looking forward to it.

Awesome, think I'm going to be able to go to this, first time seeing Guns.
And Thin Lizzy too. Saw them last year with Slash and Judas Priest at High Voltage, they're really good at the moment. Hopefully Fortus will get on stage with them.

Just looked it up, he seems to be doing a meet and greet, probably playing a little, in a guitar shop in Epsom. Tickets have all been won or given away, although there are about 9 left to be won, look on the guitarguitar facebook page. I might go and have a look, I live 10 minutes away.

Pretty annoyed that theres not a stand-alone London show though to be honest. Missed out last year, and when he announced that he was doing a UK tour again this year, I safely assumed that there would be a London show.
Me too. Could find the cash for High Voltage, or trek to Birmingham, but I highly doubt I'd convince anyone I know to do the same, so it wouldn't be worth it.

Kerrang was even worse.

Phew, back home. That felt like a marathon.
The time they came on was silly as usual, such a big gap between Lizzy and them, but it has been argued plenty before and everyone expects it, so there is no point moaning any more. But I just felt sorry for the people forced to drag themselves from their seats early, me and my dad had about almost two rows to ourself by the end of it.
It was still brilliant pretty much throughout. Personally, I thought they could have turned the volume down ever so slightly, and tried to focus on a crisper sound. It was so loud that there seemed to be a constant high frequency buzzing noise during the energetic parts of songs, which was really unbearable during RQ/Estranged, I had to leave to recover during Fortus's solo and most of Live and Let Die to let my head recover. It seemed to improve later on, or I just got used to it. From there on the performance got better and better though. Axl was very solid, there were no points when I felt he seemed particularly weak. The highlights for me were 14 Years, Don't Cry, KOHD, Nightrain, Civil War, Shacklers and PC. Great to see Izzy there. It was strange, he barely seemed like a guest, he slotted into the lineup seamlessly, playing in 5 of the songs. I'm not sure what DJ was thinking though, he decided to hop around Izzy in a circle for no apparent reason.
Oh, and Bumble looks amazing running across stage in the trench-coat. Glad to be Here sounded really good.
Great first time seeing them, I hope I'll get another chance, standing next time.
