Meh. I prefered Green Day as they were. When all they cared about was getting high. They've gone all political and 'pop' on us . They are good live though.
-
Your dutch? You have any idea when Radiohead are coming over to nl? It will be the happiest day of my life. The concert to end all concerts - seriously, when I go to see them I'll look down on everything else forever more
yes i'm from holland nice place i don't no when they come there not touring at the moment i've seen them at the end of 2003 in the gelredome in arnhem fucking amazing!
Brilliant! Wish I'd seen em. I always find out that bands i love are in the country i am about 2 days before they play. I owe the guys 16 euros anyway. I downloaded Com Lag because I couldn't afford to buy it at Free Record Shop, and now feel guilty, so I'll pay em back when I see em B)

hmm...I think that Led Zeppelin SUCKED live, so maybe Queen
Fool! Led Zeppelin spent years to refine playing live to sheer perfection! By the end of their career, they were absolutly blistering Live. So I pick them.

I dunno. Genres are so distorted nowdays, I have no idea what rock is. What with there being metal, rock metal, black metal, silvery metal, rock n' roll, stick rock, big rocks, progressive rock, punk-rock, punk-metal, punk, psycodelic rock, psycodelic punk metal, psycodelic punk metal, JD on the rocks, classic rock, classic punk, pop rock, pop metal rock punk classic, experimental rock, experimental punk, industrial punk rock, industrial metal, industrial rock.....

"nice n poppy" songs and that terrible singer.
"She woooooooooooooouuuuuuullld be looooooooooved"
I love you.
I'll second that. Specially the stuff you say about them being on the dutch radio and tv all the time. Its sickening. At my school their really popular, and after the concert, half the fucking year came back with MAROON 5 hoodies. I've taken to carrying my own CD player with a mixture of loud soothing music around to:
1) Drown out the sound of the album playing all the time
2) Stop me doing anything stupid like standing up and screaming
3) Stop me attacking anyone called Jane

Rage Against The Machine
The Battle of Los Angeles (1999)
Testify
The movie ran through me
The Glamour subdue me
The tabloid untie me
Im empty please fill me
Mister anchor assure me
That Baghdad is burning
Your voice it is so soothing
That cunning mantra of killing
I need you my witness
To dress this up so bloodless
To numb me and purge me now
Of thoughts of blaming you
Yes the car is our wheelchair
My witness your coughing
Oily silence mocks the legless
Boys who travel now in coffins
On the corner (corner)
The jurys sleepless (sleepless)
We found your weakness (weakness)
And its right outside your door
Now testify
Now testify
Its right outside your door
Now testify
Yes testify
Its right outside your door
With precision you feed me
My witness Im hungry
Your temple it calms me
So I can carry on
My slaving, sweating,
The skin right off my bones
On a bed of fire Im choking
On the smoke that fills my home
The wrecking ball is rushing
Witness your blushing
The pipeline is gushing
While here we lie in tombs
While on the corner (corner)
The jurys sleepless (sleepless)
We found your weakness (weakness)
And its right outside your door
Now testify
Yeah testify
Its right outside your door
Now Testify
Now Testify
And its right outside your door

Mand don't you all just love Yes anyway?
First concert I ever went to was a Yes gig. Was terrible. . The instruments were so disorted, and the sound so unclear you couldnt here A WORD that was being said, and couldnt tell any notable difference between songs. The one thing that you could hear though, were the keyboard solo's. It was mesmerising and made the rest of the night worth it.

Vocals: Rolf Harris
Harmonica: Rofl Harris
Sheet of A4 Card: Rolf Harris
I want to know what he used to put inside that didgeridoo Remember?
Ooooh! I'd forgotten about the didgeridoo. That goes on my list of the top 3 instruments I want to play, behind the accordian and the banjo
All I remeber is that the man is a sheer genius. I watch Animal Hospital on the slim chance that he'll burst into song at any moment

Fantastic. I love the hives, and have seen them live twice. They're so fucking funny on stage as well. Example of their greatness:
Howlin' Pelle: Are you all having a good time TONIGHT?
Crowd: Yeah!
Howlin' Pelle: Now Watch in amazement as I drink water from this bottle!
*Crowd goes crazy
I think they're cracking

What a a fucking gay song, a bunch of rednecks trying to sound Jamaican.
Take a chill pill you complicated little man.....is your mother proud of you?
I did my best to rip off the Malibu adverts.
-
The White Stripes are up there along with the rest of the 'The' bands
Whats wrong with the white stripes? I personally think they're fantastic.

go to "www.footyshow.ninemsn.com.au" then click on "NRL footyshow", then on the side menu click on "no talent time", then scroll down and click on image number 7 to see a good thunderstruck performance.
lmao!
My ears acctually hurt now
-
I'm not guilty about listening to any of my music!
*hides WHAM CD and whistles innocently*

Besides GNR.......
Franz Ferdinand
Hurray! Franz Ferdinand! Saw em live a few weeks ago, and i get goose pimples everytime I hear them now. Good call!
-
1) Radiohead
2) Guns N' Roses (not technically a band anymore, but what the hell)
3) rage against the machine(not technically a band anymore, but what the hell)
4) <Insert Generic Forum List of fave bands here>
*sighs*
What a shame. My two fave bands both have famous recluses for front men. Both exceptionally gifted, but both slightly mad. I speak of Thom Yorke and Axl Rose of course.
-
I love Waynes World. I've been thinking about it, and its quite possibly the best 2 films I've ever seen. I can quote every single line, but it still makes me nearly piss myself when i watch it, im laughing that much.
My fave band in it is the guys in the car when they sing along with Queen to bohemian rapsody. . Its impossible to watch that part with mates and not sing along.
-
John Paul Jones for me. That guy can play so many instruments. Hes so talented musically. He is the master of many instruments, whereas the other members are masters of only one!
-
theres 7 since u have that RHCP guy...Flea is a BASSIST not an electric guitarist :krider:
Ooops *feels stupid*
Dont say sorry! Because your not wrong! The thread asked for the best ever 'guitar' players, not best ever 'electric guitar players' unless i've gone completly crazy, and slightly illiterate and missed it.
-
1. Freddy Mercuary (that guy had the best vocal range in the game)
2. Robert Plant
3. Brian Johnson
4. Justin Hawkins (again an incredible range)
5. Bono

Saliva???Muse????????????Alter Bridge?????????????
Guys!!!You are GnR fans...how the fuckin' fuck can you listen to that crap?
it makes my ears bleed!
Just because we like GnR doesnt mean we cant like other music . Being a GnR fan aint like joining a cult, with like 10 commandements (Thou Shalt Not Listen to any music which does not containeth 3 guitars, Thou must believe everything that thou lord Axl Rose doth do to be sane) - Yeah I know I only listed 2.
There are plenty of good bands. You've just got to know where to look. (Not on MTV for a start.........)

Hey I love to love maroon5.. well at least I did before you made this post..
now I'm a bit ashamed
Bear with me sister. I love Maroon 5, too. You can't blame SofaKingWhat and whoever for having such lousy taste in music.
*jaw drops to the floor*
How can anyone like those pillocks?!
In the summer at the place i was working, the song came on the radio (which we were forbidden to touch) at least 5 times every hour. Along with Evernesance (or however its spelt), and some other crap. I physically shudder when I hear em
I hate Maroon 5 - This love to the point of I have to leave the room when I hear it . Sorry.

You've just nailed how 99% of GnR fans think of other genres of music.
