  1. Been a long time sadly, but the only time I've heard a CD song on the radio here was... wow, I can't remember how long ago. I want to say around the time of CD's release though. It was none other than Chinese Democracy itself, oddly enough. Of course, they did the usual Axl/new band bashing too. I've yet to find anyone here though who thinks otherwise, whether on radio or just day to day bullshitting with people about music. And it never fails that I don't have access to some form of CD at that time to at least attempt to convince them otherwise lol

  2. The site for Rapidfire is still up, but now maintained by someone else. At least according to the e-mail at the bottom. It's now "Joshua@rapidfire1983.com" where as it used to be "Kevin", as in Kevin Lawrence, the guitarist for Rapidfire.

    Current: Rapidfire1983.com

The original site via archive.org contains what would've been the cover art for the release (I'm assuming because it's an exact square in dimensions): RapidFire1983.com - 18th of April, 2005

Furthermore, it was originally TheAxlTapes.com, and only one semi complete backup exists for it. I don't remember what the Axl.jpg was. TheAxlTapes.com - 27th of August, 2004

EDIT:3rd edit in 10 minutes, anyway, found this page. It lists both e-mails and has an open letter about working with Axl's lawyers. I remember this actually, seems sometime after this date the site expired and has just recently come back in or around 2011. Rapidfire1983.com - 11th of Oct, 2007

EDIT:Ok, this has to be the final fucking edit lol found a different e-mail in 2011, Joshua@jsolomonlaw.com. JSolomonLaw was probably created sometime in 2010, but possibly earlier. The first backup of it was in 2010, and it's identical to if you went to it today. Here is the Rapidfire backup with that email: Rapidfire1983.com - 15th of July, 2011

Interestingly, Axl.jpg is also 525x525 pixels, maybe it was placeholder artwork. Anyway, as for the clip, I don't know if it's Rapidfire or not, but it does sound like Axl. The reason I kind of doubt it being Rapidfire is actually because I could have swore I read an interview with Kevin who said at that time he was singing in the lower register. EDIT: Found it, well, not the original source sadly but several sites report the same thing. Here are the Google Results:Google

  3. He can never do what Axl does, or come close, so it would never be quite right in this setting, but he did a very good job. He might not be the next best thing to Axl, but he seems like a likable dude, og he is a great singer. He haven't got the range of Axl, but he is not to far off. The downside on him singing GNR is he has got a much higher pitch in his voice, so it sounds more whiny, but I haven't seen him sing GNR as good as at the HOF before.

    This.

Well, I might as well third this because it's basically what I was going to say as well. I was very pleasantly surprised at how well he did, even though it's nowhere near Axl.

  4. I support his decision. He's damned either way anyway, like he said. I do feel sorry for anyone who spent money on tickets, I'm disappointed he can't be there and I wouldn't have been able to see it until fucking who knows when, thanks to HBO. Even so, he has good reasons, most of all the new band. I know as well as he probably does that if the new band had went and played, it would've been a media shitstorm over how "terrible" they were all because Slash wasn't with them. (You know, because Slash was the only other member in the old band. He appearently played everything at once in different costumes.) If he had reunited with the old band for a song, it would've just been a fuck you to the new band and everyone would be pissed the band on tour isn't the old one. Eitherway, someone is pissed, but this way he's taking one for the new band. I can fully respect that. I just hope things work out for the best, like he intends for them to. All the people hardcore bitching though has me wondering. The saddest/most disappointing part of this whole thing is the situation he and the new band are in, honestly. Once again, damned if you do, damned if you don't.

  5. Signed on for the first time in how fucking long just to say Happy Birthday man. I listen to all kinds of different music (which I eventually always find out those artists (even ones of entirely different genres) were inspired by GN'R), but nothing compares to coming back and listening to ANY Guns N' Fuckin' Roses music. Have a good one dude and keep kicking ass and fuck taking names, that's a waste of valuable ass kicking time lol Happy Birthday Axl

  6. The general media portrays Guns N' Roses and Axl as shit because they're able to and only focus on the bad. The media doesn't care about how many kick ass shows Guns' gives to so many fans, whether they're in America or anywhere else. They want to report on Axl not showing, Axl leaving, Axl being late, and whatever else might happen that's negative. Every article has a different reason behind it being written; either it's written by someone who is stuck in the past and can't seem to get over Slash not being in the band, either it's someone who doesn't even care about Guns N' Roses, either someone who thinks Guns should be the old band and basically have become a typical washed up 80's band (which a lot of people seem to love. I don't know why.) etc.

The thing is, your average person only hears that and reads those articles, so yes, I agree they are brainwashed if you want to put it in those words. We, MGNRF and other online GN'R communitues and shit, actually appreciate what Guns and Axl do and know what actually goes on, and yeah, Axl does not show up, show up late, walk off, whatever sometimes, and no denying, that sucks. I would be pretty upset if I didn't get to see Guns when I paid to, of course. As far as affecting a tour here, I don't know. There's always going to be GN'R fans wanting to see 'em, who know Guns still kick ass. You can also follow the rule, "Any publicity, is good publicity." It's true, there will be assholes who show up to Guns shows just to see "how bad they suck" and in waiting "for Axl to not show up." Maybe I'm biased because I hate the media, but it is true that putting down GN'R is the trend. That's the biggest reason for the negative articles, it's just a flock of sheep leading more sheep.

    Yep,

  7. There's some younger people who still care about music but not that many. Just like what someone else said, pretty much everyone else just goes on iTunes or whatever else and buys one track, "loves" the crap out of it and then deletes it to go get their new stuff. And it's always the singles. (The real gems are hidden on the full album for me. I always like one song better than the singles.) Then later they when something is deemed uncool, no matter how much they listened to it, they bash it along with their friends, who listened to it too.

And about the digital stuff, I personally would rather own a full album on CD. Not burnt either. In all honesty... I'd rather own it on a vinyl. A full album play-thru can't be beat. That's the real music expierence.

  8. Now this is why you can't take wikipedia seriously

Well I think Wikipedia is great for most non pop-culture related topics.

I think it's great for about anything in my opinion. But assholes who go and vandalize it are the ones who ruin it. Don't know if you guys seen it, but a few days ago Wiki put up "The History of Monoply" for the featured article of the day. Some dickweed changed the first picture on the page to some guy's balls. But Wiki can be great when people who vandalize stay away. And you're right. They usually do fuck with stuff in pop culture. What losers they are :rofl-lol:

  9. Well, the way I look at it is like this. The positive aspect is that this is the first show he's canceled on the American tour. All the others have come off pretty good besides him being late at times. But it still sucks major dick for the people going there. Especially anyone who came out of state.

A refund isn't enough in my opinion because that doesn't cover the other shit like gas money and eveything else to go see them. It's cool and all that people can come to Worcester, but I'm sure that a lot of those people may not either come because A: Fear of Axl not showing or it canceling, and B: Some people can't afford to drive all the way to Worcester when they just got done driving up to Portland (If they didn't live there already of course.) It's just bullshit for the fans. It's also just a huge letdown! Sure, there is positive aspects such as this being the first show to cancel, but I think the negative shit the fans went through is a lot more important. I just truely personally hope the people who did miss this can get to see Guns N' Roses sometime. Because the people who go to these canceled shows deserve a LOT more than us lucky ones who do get to go.

    My two cents.

  10. no, farm was always on the options list according to the setlist picture

technically if they were listening to the critics they woulda played a new cd song on the second.

so no, bitching didn't work, they're gonna play when they're gonna play it

Actually a lot of the criticism was that if they couldn't play more new stuff yet to at least mix in something different. I think by that most of us thought Illusion material, but the idea is the same - more variety.

I guess this snuffs out the argument made by all the Axl apologists, that you can't play obscure songs because of the casual fan. It doesn't get much more obscure than Down on the Farm.

actually, it can get more obscure, they could play things like.....i don't care about you or human being'

no, this is a smart move

think about it this way, recall the only time this song was played live

on national tv with millions watching

was not farm aid not only a good performance combined with huge publicity because of addler?

better yet, how many gnr concerts do you remember televised before rio 2?

there was the vmas, thats about it

if there was one gnr song of tsi? to play from sheer publicity other than the manson song it was down on the farm

i mean, not many actually liked since i don't have you and no one ever saw axl play ain't it fun

    good move axl

I can assure you that 99.9% of casual fans do not remember Down on the Farm, if they ever knew of it to begin with.

Along with Better and IRS, I seen a LOT of people near me singing DOTF. Seemed like there was a lot more hardcore fans there than usual.

  11. I was there, He said before down on the farm, this coud be a disaster or something like that, great show, great place for show. met Ron and Dizzy at the Radisson, getting ready to go to the show, I asked Ron about the Nashville show, He said they would probablly be coming back nex't time with a slight shrugg.

Great show, I seen absolutley no problem with Axl or the show, Only thing is they go on so late, everybody gets so hammered, Guy took a swing at me cause I asked him to move out of my view. But Thats life Awesome show couldn't have asked for more, Then on the way home I hit one of the Biggest Kentucky bucks i ever seen, an totaled out my truck.

Yep. He said, and I remember this exactly, "This could be a recipe for disater". Then he said how he hadn't played it in 15 years or so and as soon as they started playing, I fuckin flipped! That night was pretty crazy. Hopefully, someone has a bootleg... god please lol Axl should definately keep playing DOTF! He sang it accent and all. Twas great! Fuck... think I'm gonna write a reveiw for the show :rofl-lol:

  12. Thats a cool picture disc. I new they still pressed singles on vinyl. Mainly for DJ use and collectors. I'm talking about cd singles in general. A few years ago we had an entire isle dedicated to singles but now they have all but dissapeard.

None of the music stores here have ever sold singles. Then again, doesn't suprise me here. <_< Kinda wish they would sell singles.

  13. I'm not even watchin this shit and it's a joke. Treadmills and ringtones. Rappers and emos. :rofl-lol: I'm gonna go pass a kidney stone to pass time. <_<

Personally, Axl should not even show up to this shit. Unless he gives an award for worst performance. "And this goes to... THE VMA'S. Yay. Go home."
