  1. Going to pick it up tonight.

    Saul's book:

Lots of detail pre-illusions. Lots of made up shit and errors but overall great book for any GNR fan.

    Adlers book:

Makes you feel sorry for the way everyone turned on him. He explains how everyone became a dick to him except for Axl.

You're so full of shit. Where's your source for how slash made shit up?

For somebody whoooo hates cupcakes, I'll never understand why you do in these sections what you hate "the slash fanboys" do in the main forum. You do realize, like em or hate em, that slash was a HUGE part of old gnr. His contributions are set in stone in legacy, and are 75% of what ashba and bumblefoot play now. He can officially become a member of the black eyed peas, and it wouldn't take anything away from what he did. The scom solo will always be his. The melodies in estranged, the song you all wanted back so bad, will always be his work. No. Matter. What. Enough with the "saul" and "$la$h" bullshit you hypacritical cupcake. Show the man the respect he EARNED. Something ashba and bumble have yet to do. I just don't understand how you can be a true gnr fan without at least respecting the man. Be happy I don't embrace the smell of his nutsack like you do axl's to where I tattle on you. Little tattle tale.

Not trolling just trying to have a conversion about books.

Just for you BoBo here is some errors from Saul's book:

    - Page 1: "I was born on July 23, 1965 in Stoke On Trent, England"

    - He was born in Hampstead, England but spent his childhood in Stoke-on-Trent.

    - Page 102: "We could have booked a gig locally because, collectively, we all knew the right people, but no, we decided that after three rehearsals, we were ready for a tour."

    - The first show the Appetite For Destruction line-up played was on June 6th, 1985 at the Troubadour in Hollywood, CA. The tour up to Seattle happened after that show.

    - Page 164: "Del ended up writing treatments for some of our videos, as well as having written the short story that inspired Axl to write "November Rain"."

    - Del wrote Without You which inspired the video to November Rain and at least part of Estranged.

    - Page 210: "When we got on set, we met JJ Jackson, the host, and he was really cool. "

    - J.J. Jackson didn't interview GN'R on Headbanger's Ball in 1987. [Thanks Nevy]

    - Page 221, 305: "Within a day, we hooked up with Fred Curry, the drummer for Cinderella, and he was great in a pinch."

    - Fred Coury is the drummer's name. [Thanks Nevy]

    - Page 259: Tom Mayhue's name misspelled as Tom Mayhew.

    - Page 323: "We had three theater dates in L.A., San Francisco, and New York, with various bands opening for us, such as Blind Melon and Faith No More and Raging Slab."

    - Raging Slab opened for GN'R at the NYC show, Dumpster opened in San Francisco and L.A. Shannon Hoon (of Blind Melon) sang with the band at the L.A. show.

    - Page 323: ".. including two nights at the Inglewood Forum in L.A."

    - It was actually four nights.

    - Page 335: "After we got out stage show together, backup singers, horn section, and all, and we did a week's worth of rehearsals with every element intact, suddenly we found ourselves in South America, before a crowd of 180,000 at Rock In Rio II, on January 20, 1991."

    - The extended lineup played its first show on December 5th, 1991 (the second US leg) in Worcester, MA.

    - Page 339: "When he jumped down, it was great, we kept playing that suspenseful riff that starts off "Rocket Queen," and I thought the whole moment was killer. When Axl got back onstage, everything felt triumphant for a second... then he grabbed the mike, said something like, "Because of the bullshit security, we're going home," slammed the mike down, and walked offstage.

The band kept going. We'd gotten good at improvising to fill dead space - drum solos, guitar solos jams - we had a bag of tricks to keep things moving whenever Axl made a sudden exit. We kept jamming, and I went over to the side of the stage.

"Where is he? I asked Doug.

He looked at me with a pained expression. "He's not coming back."

"What do you mean he's not coming back?" I shouted, still playing the riff.

"There is no way he is coming back," Doug said. "There is nothing I can do."

We were about ninety minutes into our set, which was our minimum contractually, but the plan was to play a two-hour ser and the crowd wasn't close to satisfied. They knew there was a lot more left. I would have done anything to get Axl back onstage at that point.

"Ask him again!" I yelled. "Find out if he's really not going to." I should have known by Doug's expression that there was no use.

Once it was final, we had no choice: the band put down our gear, and it was like pulling the plug on the stereo - the song just ended on a question mark. That entire arena sat there expecting something to happen, but instead we walked offstage without a word."

    - The following is what happened and it can be seen in the pro-shot bootleg footage from the show. About 1:15 into the song, Axl asks security "Hey, take that! Take that now! Get that guy and take that........ I'll take it Goddamn it!" He jumps into the crowd while the band keeps playing the riff Slash mentioned. Axl returns to the stage at around 1:57 into the song, motions for the band to stop playing and says "Well, thanks to the lame ass security, I'm going home.". Then he throws down his microphone, walks past Slash and walks offstage. Slash proceeds to say something into the microphone. His last line is "We're out of here".

Page 350: "In May of 1992. We announced that we would coheadline a summer tour with Metallica starting July 7"

    - The tour started on July 17th, 1992 at the RFK Stadium in Washington, DC.

    - Page 363: "I got married to Renee in October 1991."

    - 1992

    - Page 412: "On the morning of 9/11, we were woken up at 8:15 by David Williams, Michael's house guitar player .... ... I saw that a plane had hit the Twin Towers, and moments later the second one hit while I was actually watching."

    - Flight 11 crashed into the north face of the North Tower of the World Trade Center at 8:46:40. Flight 175 crashes into the south face of the South Tower at 9:03:11.

    - Page 437: ".... and the Pistols' "Pretty Vacant."

    - They played "Bodies" by Sex Pistols at their first show as well as playing it on tour.

    - Several pages: Slash's current band mate in VR, Dave Kushner, is referred to as Dave Kirscher in several places in the book.

Is this all you have?.....wow.....what a dork...

  2. Axl should reunite with the old guys and make a reunion tour. There is no creativity, and for doing this kind of tours (2006,2008,2010) I think he should do reunite (if the other guys want to reunite, if not retire), because the gigs are tour for nostalgia, and for doing that, do it well and reunite, we don't need hired guns. By the way, I went to a gig last year and it was not bad, but those guys weren't Guns, thos guys where the ego circus drama guys of Axl Rose and his band.

You make no sense. Why should he reunite with some guys he released music with back in the early 90's when he can continue to play with guys he released music with in 2008? And why do you say there is no creativity? Are you basing this on the fact that GN'R hasn't released anything since 2008? That is just silly. We KNOW they have more songs in various states of completion and we KNOW Tommy has hinted that work on a new record will start after this tour.

And the gid that I atended last year was 85% of old stuff, practically all AFD was played and just 3,4 songs from CD from a setlist of almost 25 songs.

    chile was

They played six songs from Chinese Democracy,

    seven from Appetite For Destruction,

three from Use Your Illusion I,

three from Use Your Illusion II,

    one from GN'R Lies

    and two covers

seems a good mix to keep EVERYONE kinda happy

That's 16 old songs from a set of 22. A 72% of old songs. Old songs that where made with people that in his mind are cancers or useless or a bunch of losers....what a prick.

  3. There is not gonna be any new music ever. No CD 2, No CD 3 or AFD 2 or UYI3. Grow up...

thats a bit pesimistic, we got "riff raff" and "esrtranged" on the set list and "oh my god" looks like it will make a showing and "goin down" is also on the tour setlist so you cant say we get nothing.

and we got a US tour and Axl sorted out his shit with Azoff, well it seems he has anyways

    My link

Rif Raf its a cover. Estranged is from 1991. Oh my god from 1999 and goin downd does not exists by now....where is the new music?...Axl should reunite with the old guys and make a reunion tour. There is no creativity, and for doing this kind of tours (2006,2008,2010) I think he should do reunite (if the other guys want to reunite, if not retire), because the gigs are tour for nostalgia, and for doing that, do it well and reunite, we don't need hired guns. heres a question for you

How will a reunion improve Axl's singing? I mean if you can't complain about the quailty of the musicians, and all anyone has been bitching about is Axls weight and his lateness and his voice, how is changing the musicians going to change anything? Will it make him lose weight, be on time and sing better?

It's not a question of Axl's voice improvements. It's a question of credivility...I mean for one point Axl is in saying no to the old (the AFD) members, but for the other he is playing songs that those member did with him....ridiculous. And he should reunite or retire, just because in that way he will give just a little of credivility. He will be playing the songs that maked him became a rockstar and with people that he owes becoming a rockstar. If he don't see this point, he should retire.

  4. Axl should reunite with the old guys and make a reunion tour. All you say is Guns fashioned old propaganda. The band has not release any new music since 1991. The one that has release music is Axl with a bunch of mercenaries (the CD credits are ridiculous) with no soul or attitude, that's where it is the lack of creativity. And the gid that I atended last year was 85% of old stuff, practically all AFD was played and just 3,4 songs from CD from a setlist of almost 25 songs. Ridiculous! And finally, if Slash was (or is) a cancer why keeps Axl playing songs that Slash made?, for example WTJ, the main riff is from Slash. I love GNR music even some of CD! but what I don't understand is Axl's dork behaviour....

  5. There is not gonna be any new music ever. No CD 2, No CD 3 or AFD 2 or UYI3. Grow up...

  6. I think the common ground which can be agreed on is that Axl turned up 100% completely unprepared.

I hear a lot of people saying poor Axl what happened etc. Axl done it to himself and left himself completely open for ridicule. Forget about these dreamers bringing up excuses about the teleprompters not working (when they clearly are) or monitors not working or rain was too much for poor widdle Axl... It's clear he literally went from his couch to one of the biggest stages in the world. I don't feel sorry for someone who showed that much disrespect to not only the poor fans who toughed it out under terrible conditions but the music community in general. It was a slap in the face to everyone: the promoters, the fans and all of the other bands who actually put in the time to be prepared for the show. Imagine being Metallica and watching that abortion of a performance and thinking dude we have been around longer, put in the effort and these chumps get to headline over us. It's a pathetic situation from a pathetic person who has pathetically blamed everything on everyone for 20 years. He's got a swag of yes people around him and fans who are literally so fanatic and brainwashed that merely the sight of him on stage calls for "godlike" reviews. See the looney bin HTGTH for the "godlike" reference.

It's very unfortunate a lot of people cannot grasp the concept that a band at this level should be completely ready by the time that they hit a stage like this. When you are at this level, earning this kind of money, performing infront of potentially millions of people (in person and online), it is completely unacceptable to show such a high level of unprofessionalism. It is not acceptable to grant Axl to use the first 15 shows of a tour to "warm up" and be ready. This guy is allegedly a professional and should be entirely ready from show number 1. How insulting to get up on that stage and freely admit there was basically zero practice by him. How did that turn out for you? The clear majority who have the guts to call you on it know you can do better and you have let a lot of people down. So many people defend Axl and his new band to give them some credibility. What you fanatics don't choose to accept is that the Rio performance set this new band back more than anything could. The entire performance was riddled with mistakes from both the band and Axl. I will even say the band has been incredibly tight in the past and tonight they just weren't on either. Apart from Ron's embarrassing farce with the stupid star wars helmet, they also messed up quite abit. Then when you consider Axl's mistakes and the whole thing is painful to watch. I have never seen a performer completely give up onstage after making afew mistakes then kick puddles like some 5 year old. Then saying "I didn't want to be here anyway" etc. Go home then and stop embarrassing yourself, GNR's legacy and wasting everyone's time.

For me personally, this is the point where I completely detach from this band. Admittedly, I couldn't care less about the revolving door musician backing band, but Axl's display of utter disrespect was too insulting for me to ever even consider going to another GNR show. Or take any significant interest in the band. I can only look at this performance and shake my head. Ron completely butchering the WTTJ solo whilst playing with a star wars helmet wtf?, Axl's million stuff ups and comical voice/appearance, an embarrassing ensemble of musicians who don't fit.

Imagine being one of the original members and seeing a band that you worked so hard to create be brought to this level. I'd have tears in my eyes.

At this point Axl has completely stuffed himself. The ball is completely in Slash's court. Everyone in the music industry, including Slash, would be laughing hysterically at the joke that is GNR now. The question is no longer will Axl get back with Slash for a reunion, the question is now why the f**k would Slash even consider it now that Axl is a complete joke.

    +1000000000000000

  7. All of you idiots criticizing the band are pathetic. Who the hell do you think you are to judge this band? Can you whiners play better than Richard or Dj or Frank? Or sing better than Axl? Are you people perfect or what? I would like to see you bitches stand in front of thousands of people and crap your pants while trying to sing November Rain. Nobody gives a fuck about your negative opinions. Go out and get a life and let the rest of us enjoy the fact that this band played a fantastic show and kicked ass while at it. Where they perfect? No. But I'm not either, so I won't complain. I'm just happy I was able to see a Guns N' Roses concert again and the fact the they played Estranged again is a historical GNR moment, and that's my highlight of the show. Blah blah blah Axl blah blah the lyrics blah blah I'm disappointing blah blah Richard blah.... Too bad, go cry somewhere else. Nobody cares about you.

what a dork....by the way, how old are you?

  8. We have this fight every first 2-3 shows about axl's voice..

he hasn't sung for a year... let it roll up with time.

the weather conditions were very hard to perform top notch under...

equipment failiure maybe due to the weather conditions made it even harder to perform...

so yeah I can't blame them for putting on a f*cking rock show as they did... and the crowd seems to think the same...

give the band time to perform again @ 100%...

and the hour wait or longer...

get used to it... that's guns n roses time!

Excuses,excuses...he must retire, or rejoin the original appetite guys and admit that he was wrong in his new version of GNR.
