Awesome news!! With this being the band's first show in Bolivia, it only furthers my suspicions that something BIG is being planned for 2014. That would be really awesome if the band were to put a new single out via their official website where you could download it for a couple of bucks before the radio stations get their promo copies. Just kind of a way to say thanks to their biggest fans.

Guns N Roses wouldn't be touring SA in 2014 if something BIG wasn't planned. My guess is we'll probably be getting a new single a couple weeks before the tour. After they complete all the SA dates, I wouldn't be surprised if additional SA dates weren't added or if the same venues were played twice just to build up hype before they drop the new album mid year in Brazil.

While I hope you are right, I'm not setting myself up for disappointment.

I don't see believing it will happen as setting yourself up for disappointment. There has been a lot of speculation about the new album coming out in 2014 and several band members have alluded to this being a reality.

I don't think we will get conformation until right beforehand. Axl will ensure that there is not another issue like with Chinese Democracy where the promotion is half assed and being pushed by a shady manager. Ever since the SA dates were announced, I've had this feeling that Axl has already negotiated a deal with the label, and right before the tour, the promotional ball will start rolling. Drop single. Tour SA. Add additional dates or 2nd shows at the same venue. Drop the album mid-way through the South American tour. Just my opinion, but I bet it's something relatively close to this.

If a new album wasn't on the way, there wouldn't be any other reason to do this tour. Seems simple enough to me.

I'd like to see Scraped eventually replace WTTJ at US sport events. It probably would have already if it wasn't too advanced for most of its listeners.

I would too. Especially with the live drum intro, Scraped would be so much cooler than Jungle

There is a big difference between being cool and being cooler than one of the best GNR sounds that still sounds decent nowadays. If he can barely sings WTTJ, how he would sing Scraped that has much more voice changes?

Yes, really. I think Scraped is by far the better song. It is full of so much raw anger and energy whereas Jungle just seems dated and flat to me. Don't get me wrong, the song has its place in GNR history, but it's very obvious (to me, at least) that the band has evolved into so much more than what they were in their early club days. Everyone has got to start somewhere, though. I have Scraped on repeat while I do my 20 minutes of morning calisthenics five days a week. It just gives me such a great natural high and pushes me to forge ahead even when I don't want to. I can't thank Axl enough for this often overlooked gem. It's definitely appreciated by this fan and I'd love to see it get more play during the live shows.

As far as your concerns about him struggling to sing it, I haven't seen this yet, so until I do, I'm not going to worry about it.

He's someone that I liked a lot, he brought a lot to GN'R, especially having a big part to play in the overall vibe of Chinese Democracy. I wish he was still around.

Great read. He really did bring so much to the band. Without his vision and style of playing I don't think Chinese Democracy would have been nearly as big as it was. I was pissed the most about him being excluded from the Rock Hall induction. I wouldn't be surprised if his being snubbed from the legacy didn't play a major reason in Axl's refusal to attend.
