  1. So with new tour dates coming its safe to assume Ron chose the paycheck?

Or he chose the love for you the fans and the band? Perhaps

Cool! The guy who isn't Slash decided to tour with the band again.

Who we kidding, chief? Less than one hundred people on this planet would give a sweet fuck less if he were to bail. Less than 100.

On topic, it's pretty sad to see that Ron chose the paycheck once again over what would be his artistic integrity (if he had any). Oh well. Hopefully, we get at least one meltdown from him this tour.

  2. I've always felt that this is one of the band's most over-looked performances. It really exemplifies what this lineup is truly capable of:

If SA fans gets something even remotely close to this, I'm genuinely jealous. Make sure you fuckers who are lucky enough to attend provide those of us who are less fortunate with some quality boots.

  3. You do think it was a bitch move of Axl not to talk to him, right?

    If he was home, yeah.

Axl not home. Now that's a funny thought. If Axl wasn't home, Beta wouldn't be there either.

Considering past history, I can't really see any situation where Axl would be afraid of Slash. If anything, it would be the other way around. :shrugs:

1 actual confrontation with a male during his whole career? A career filled with shit talking and backing down? That's the past I remember.

Yeah, but that 1 male was a badass named Tommy Hilfiger. It's not like it was some pussy ass fashion designer or something.

  4. A tour failure is exactly what Axl needs. Once he sees he can't even fall back on touring, it would hopefully kick some sense into him to start focusing on studio music instead.

Or even better, maybe a phone call to Slash? I honestly believe if they actually featured Guns N Roses members for a Guns N Roses tour, that would help matters tremendously. Then they wouldn't have to rely soley on the young and naïve.

  5. I just checked our page statistics, and from the almost 200 thousand people that like the page, the VAST MAJORITY comes from people younger than 16 years old. The fans who enjoy the most this new line-up are the youngest. And also, who's 16 or 17 years old will have to pay twice the price of the ticket so that someone "legally responsible" can take tham.

Thanks a lot for sharing this, Manets. Personally, I am shocked that 16-17 year olds make up the majority of the fanbase, I wouldn't have guessed that.

By chance, did the original article touch on the very, very small percentage of those who enjoy the band who are over the age of 16-17 years? For example, does it say that the other 8-9% of the population who like the current lineup are those not in possession of a high school diploma? Or possibly those that may have suffered a severe, traumatic force to the head? Just curious for statistical purposes.

  6. I think it would be a very bold and rock n roll statement if Axl were to add this gem to the setlist in 2014. Maybe find an African American or a couple of guys that appears to be romantic in the crowd and point directly at them while loudly emphasizing certain words of this song. For further impact, follow that up by throwing them the bird.

Make no mistake. I'm not racist or prejudice in any way, shape, or form. It would be soley for the sake of rock n roll, and to remind the public that there are still a lot of "small town white boys" in the world. I'd like to think that any truly open-minded fans would understand and appreciate where he is coming from. Almost art in its truest form.

  7. It'd be admirable if Axl had released an incredible album instead of ChiDem and then never had his employees play Slash's parts on stage.

Do you feel the same about Slash's band performing GNR songs? Please, list one popular band that play none of their back catalogue.

I'm not sure if you've got heard of this thing called "supply and demand". Axl performs all the big-name GNR songs because that is what people want.

Go to any Kanye, Eminem or Metallica show. Most people don't give a fuck about the latest artistic offering of a performer, they're paying to hear the big songs like "Gold Digger", "Lose Yourself" and "Enter Sandman".

Problem is Axl terminated original Guns and formed another band called Guns N' Roses, so they don't have a back catalogue. They play some songs from their only album and a lot of covers from a band that doesn't exist anymore called Guns N' Roses.

Of course Axl can play his old songs. I just think that by ending GNR 1.0, his intentions were more like playing new stuff and burying the past. Sure Slash plays GNR songs, but he plays what? 4 or 5 songs max? That's moving on while still pleasing the crowd, I'd say.

NIN dropped Closer from their set. Metallica are going on tour with the fans creating the setlist...

Again, no problem with playing old music, specially for an old band. But GNR's case is different, cause Axl in some point of his life wanted the world to forget the old band (he even re-recorded AFD!) and now.... well, the last tour was called APETTITE for democracy, right?

My guess would be that Axl intended to record new music up until he realized what exactly he was left with that currently tours as GNR. Axl has always relied on other contributor's input to write, regardless of which era of the band. He was never a sole mastermind. I'm sure he's heard what BBF and DJ had to offer of and kindly passed on the opportunity. Personally, I find it hard to fault him for that considering the quality of their solo material. The only thing that I do fault him for is his inability to let bygones be bygones and reunite the lineup that the majority of us actually want to see. Maybe one day we might not have to pretend anymore.

  8. Didn't Axl wanted Zakk Wylde in Gn'R? It would be cool to have some downtuned riffs.

Would certainly put some balls back into the band..................

Balls? Obviously, someone must have missed out on DJ pausing between the opening riffs of CD, with his hand against the ear, waiting for crowd applause. Someone must have missed Ron having his mouth wide open as he bobs his head back and forth to give the impression that he's rocking out. And someone must have repeatedly missed Richard's signature move of slamming his pick against his guitar? I wouldn't exactly call all of that small balls, my friend.

  9. It's good to see the album going up in price. When I saw it on Amazon brand new for $.49 six months ago, I was worried that it might give some the wrong impression about the overall quality of the album. It didn't help matters that, during the 2012 holiday season, my local Dollar General had numerous copies mixed in a giant bin full of other junk where, if you spent over $10, you were able to pick one free item out of that bin..

  10. When it turns out that nothing new comes out of this upcoming tour but further milking of a previous band's legacy, will the management here at least single out their source who promised this new material? Otherwise, it could give the impression that the forum was just looking for increase activity, or in some manner had their palm greased in order to help the band sell more tickets. Not saying that IS what happened, but basically, I think transparency will be essential in order to maintain credibility with the members, otherwise it could lead to assumptions being made.
