  1. Gov't Ball

He looks so happy here. Like he really loves touring and being associated with his fans. I wouldn't be surprised if he plays the lottery frequently with the hope that it leads to him winning a 100 million or so that way he doesn't even have to go out there and, what I'm sure he considers, wasting his time by going through the motions.

    EDIT:

Does anyone else ever notice how he claims to have been so miserable during his years with Slash and the UYI tours, but the pictures and videos often show otherwise? Now he's really happy that they're out of his life, but these are the "happy" pictures that we get from him?

  2. No. Not my favorite, but not the worst. In my opinion (key word), Adler is the worst .

If being honest, the only reason the majority come to this conclusion is because they relate Steven's behavior/drug issues with the roll that he played in the band. The truth is, he was THE drummer for Guns N Roses because of his distinct percussion that no other has been able to replicate to this day. A lot of people are of the belief that a drummer and bassist are replaceable positions; you can change those members the easiest and still virtually have the same product. That may be true in many cases, but not at all true in Guns N Roses. There was a drastic change in the band's sound, regardless of the addition of a keyboardist, and that change was soley the result of Steven's departure.

Whether you feel that he is an unapologetic drug user, that's one thing. But there is absolutely no denying that his departure ended the real magic of GNR. His sense of swing and those timeless grooves have yet to be replicated properly regardless of which replacement you want to compare him against. Deep down, I believe that even Axl, to this day, would absolutely love to have a sober and healthy Steven Adler behind the drum kit. He had a extremely unique way of playing that contributed greatly to GNR's sound and he absolutely loved being part of the band that he played in. If the ever play Vegas again, and I'm almost certain that they will, I would love to see Steven share the stage with Axl, especially on Mr. Brownstone and Rocket Queen. It's been decades since either of those 2 songs have been given the justice that they deserve, imo.

  3. Please, guys. Don't even bother to entertain a notion that involves the possibility of new music. It only makes the fanbase look that much more gullible. Anyone attending a show this year should expect a lot of Appetite, a couple of Lies tracks, November Rain/Live and Let Die, a song or two from CD, and some very boring and uninspired cover songs. And unless Axl has undergone some type of radical transformation in the last year, he will likely be every bit as poor (vocally/overweight) as he has been in recent years.

Let's not allow ourselves to come off looking like a group of ignorant individuals by trying to make ourselves believe that Axl has anything special planned for a fanbase that he couldn't give 2 flying shits about. This tour has been planned to further fill both him and his camp's pockets. Nothing more.

  4. What Frank brings to the table is literally what you would expect from any run-of-the-mill, nothing special, bar band drummer. He's literally about as basic as they come with no additional frills. And that's just the reality of it. I'm sure even he, if being honest, would admit that he was lucky to get the GNR gig and that is soley due to any other artist with even the slightest shred of self-respect declining the invitation.

  5. Frankly...I find it baffling how anyone thinks the UYI material was better than AFD. Even on those UYI songs that are supposedly leftovers from the AFD era (e.g. You Could Be Mine), there seems to be something missing in the mix. Heck, I even like Lies better than most of the stuff on UYI. I can't really put my finger on it, but UYI was just lacking something...call it the X factor or whatever...but by that time the band had already lost that "magic" (for lack of a better word) that they had on AFD/Lies. But I agree it's a matter of personal preference.

The "X factor" that you mentioned was the very unique and loose style of drumming and the addition of one very unnecessary keyboardist.

  6. If you would have asked me a year ago if I had any interest whatsoever in a reunion of the classic lineup, I would have said not in the least. But after waking up and seeing the true reality of this current farce of a band, I'm not afraid to admit that this would be the most ideal and lucrative option at this point. There's just no chemistry at all between Axl and the current guys, nor is it the least bit surprising that he's opting to tour where he plans to again in 2014. It really can't get much more pathetic than it is at the moment.

And I'm beyond pissed that Ron continues supporting these repetitive tribute tours as opposed to breaking free and trying to make his own artistic mark. You lost a one time big supporter, Ron.

  7. He's not a musical genius. He isn't even close to such being mentioned in such a league. I used to admire him and I wanted to see his new vision of the band succeed, but I'm not blind. I recognize that he is more interested in financial security than he was in adding another chapter to the legacy without Slash. That's blatantly obvious at this point. I've lost so much respect for him as a person and as an artist that it's sad ... just sad. That's the only way I can describe it. And I always considered myself to be objective and open to new ideas, but he has failed his fanbase tremendously and no set of excuses can negate that reality.

Initially what peaked my interest in the band to begin with was my love of Bumblefoot. But, now I realize that he's every bit as lazy as Axl himself since he chooses to continue relying on the easy paydays over focusing on his own art. Thanks, Axl. Not only did you destroy any respect that I had for you, but in the process, you caused me to lose every ounce of respect for the individual that brought you in to my radar to begin with. I never thought I would say this, but I can't blame any of the classic members for walking out on this guy years ago. If any of the current members had any shred of dignity, they would follow suit. It's just beyond pathetic.

If I offend anyone with my comments, I'm sorry. You're either as frustrated as I am because you know that what I say is true or you'd rather believe that this laziness and lack of artistic integrity is somehow rock n roll of Axl in an attempt to justify his blatantly obvious ignorance and laziness.
