  1. This is absolutely brilliant. His tone is perfect. Slash sounds nothing like what I heard in Birmingham a few weeks ago, but that's down to the sound engineer not him and MK and crew.

That is the best version of YCBM I've heard since 1993. And easily on par with the best of that era.

I think a lot will be down to the mix from the soundboard that they got, but hearing that tone is magnificent. And faultless playing.

  2. I do not know how in the world they manage to find the time to fit all of these songs, manage to make room to have guest appearances play with them, still make room for that 15 min. Rocket Queen solo, play the necessities, and played a good amount of songs from the new album.

I was there last night and it was brilliant. Although I nearly didn't get there as I went to the NIA first for some reason lol

    The not so great:

As mentioned a little earlier in this thread, for me, the sound mix was off. It sounded 50% drums, 25% vocals and 25% Slash, with Slash and Myles mainly drowned out. I love Brent and his drumming (more like Steven), but would obviously prefer to hear the other 2.

Glen Hughes came out a squealed/screemed an absolute racket and song I've never heard before, I nearly walked out at this abortion to come back in after.

    The good:

I thought this was a really balanced set list, with a good mix of old and new.

We got to hear some of the new album :)

They played a couple of tracks/intro's I've never heard them do before before which were really cool

    The great:

I'm not a fan of Todd at all, I don't really like him or his vocals at all, but he did an absolutely brilliant job of the ace of spades, really really good.

They played my 2 favourite Guns tacks ever, nightrain and YCBM :) Was really looking forward to YCBM as I've never heard Slash play it live ever :)

I feel like a lot of the time Slash rushes through the intro to Anastasia, but last night it sounded brilliant, really good performance

I've seen Slash over here quite a few times now, and apart from the mixing issues and the geezer out of Motorhead making a racket, I'd say this is the best gig I've ever been to of theirs :)

  3. Well out of a 17 track album, I like 6, I guess that's not bad going. World on Fire, 30 years to life, Bent to Fly, The Dissident, Withered Delilah, Wicked Stone. There's no Anastasia sort of blockbuster on there, and quite a few seem 'ballady' which I didn't expect at all, I thought this might be more balls to the wall rock.

  4. I'd obviously be in for slash and myles having a bash at anything off there as I love those albums, but seeing as slash hates them, the only one I can ever see getting close is you could be mine, as that was intended for appetite.

When you listen to appetite, and slash's work since, you can hear what a massively over processed different sound uyi's were. Slash's guitar is there, but there's so many other sounds it's just not real rock and roll anymore.

GnR was appetite, not uyi, it'd be like they were covering something from a completely different artist, not slash's own work.

I wonder what the tracks off uyi really sounded like before axl got his hands on the guys work and mixed the shit out of it.

  5. I'm pleased for Axl, if that's what he wants, but I'm not impressed at all with the numbers. It's like saying he packed out his bedroom, for 7 nights, with 5 people each night.

Remember, this is a guy fronting a new band, that used to front an old band that sold out stadium tours. Infront of 50k+ every show. So him filling a small show might now be his thing. To be fair Slash does the same, fills small 5k shows. I doubt either of them would be able to sell out a stadium tour individually, we all know what they'd need to do to make that happen, and it never is going to.

So no, I'm not impressed with the numbers, that berk bieber could repeat that with very little effort, and axl has as much talent in his little toe as him. But if it makes 'axl and his hired hands band' happy, so be it.

  6. Went to the birmingham gig last night, it was awesome with a great set list, myles voice was awesome considering he's been ill in the last few weeks.

Only a couple of downers on the show - for the NIA, I thought the audio was well on the piss, I've been to other gigs there, and seen Velvet Revolver there, and the audio was 100x times better. Something was defo wrong, I'm sure I noticed Slash check his guitar a couple of times and go wtf, it was sounding like he was hitting bum notes in places as it was that off. Something was up.

The other downer was Todd - wtf. What a racket. All songs sang by Myles pretty much got a massive round of applause, when Todd done his 3 of 4 tracks, everyone was like 'thanks fuck that is over' and no one was clapping. I was disappointed. I suppose half of this is down to Myles being so good, and hearing the tracks that he sang, sang a million times better by other people.

I couldn't hep but laugh at frank and todd the pair of clowns, they look so out of place in that band, pissing about on the side of the stage like beavis and butthead.

Overall, brilliant gig, and got the missus into some more tracks that she hadn't heard. So another convert :)

  7. Why would Ron want to play rhythm guitar in Slash's band when he is 10000000x better then Slash in every aspect of the guitar? :shrugs:

Slash is one of my favorite guitarists but he wouldn't even be able to keep the rhythm up with Rons playing

He might be 'technically' a better guitarist, but that is where anything that he's better than slash at ends. And buckethead is a better technical guitarist than him, so where does this end? It's not about being the best technically, and never will be.

  8. Ginger WILDHEART will open for the full UK / EU Tour in October !

TREMONTI is now confirmed for LONDON gigs + Newcastle !

I'm going to the bham gig, I've just checked out a few ginger wildhearts tracks on youtube, I'm now thinking about turning up a bit later on the night and skipping the opening acts ;) lol
