Yes, they're controlled by the British, so they can SAY they're British, but they're not formally a part of the UK. It's a different thing.. The UK is JUST England/Scotland/Wales and N.Ireland.. Nothing else. The other things are British overseas territories - a separate thing.

Sweetheart, I just read your posts in the drinking and driving thread.. you made a mistake. Gibraltar is NOT part of the UK. It's a "British overseas territory" which is CONTROLLED by the UK but NOT a part of it. Therefore, the UK does not share a border with a mainland European country. (Republic of Ireland is not on the mainland )
