  1. "GNR gets in first ballot because they're one of the few bands the voters have heard/heard of. The place has no historical value or significance to the actual people that listen to music and BUY Rock records." - Scott Ian

Scoot ian is delusional. GNR were inducted for a couple of reasons. Only a handful of bands have ever acheived what the orginal band did. The beattles, Stones, Zeppelin, U2,Pink Flloyd and maybe Metallica. To be a global phenomenom has only happen to these bands and the hall/voters could not deny the fact that GNR had that type of impact. And the hall does do some good. There has not been another GNR or U2 since , no band has ascended to the that level since, so that in itself is a testament to GNR. People can think whatever they want about the hall, but a first ballot induction for GNR is an honor and validates the band in someway I would think.

  2. Axl will never share a stage with Slash. Axl has given up way too much to turn back now, and he has defintivily stated that he would never even be in the same room as Slash unless by ambush . And he stated that would not be pretty. This isnt about being adults or whatever else, it is deeply personal for Axl and everybody here who loves him knows in their hearts that Axl just aint gonna do it, under any circumstance. Axl has also stated that the RNRHOF is more for the fans and he doesnt really get it. Steven will be there with bells on for sure. My hope is original line up minus Axl playing two songs, and that is a best case scenario. And any talk of current GNR members is absurd on every level. Some of you people here live in a real fucking fantasy world.

The real question and the most realistic one is who will induct the band. My guess would be Brian May.

Will you people quit posting pretending you really know what goes on inside the man's mind? That you think you can understand Axl with certainty and speak on his behalf is the real fantasy.

Listen douche bag, I aint pretending to be in Axl's fucking mind. You want my favorite Axl quote? The one where he stated unequivocally that he would never even be in the same room as Slash or the cancer statement too. Take your pick, but it was Axl's words not my imagination. Axl could have made hundred of millions from a reunion tour, and decided no fucking way. He aint gonna do it for an organization that he has stated he doesnt really even understand. Now wipe that stupid fucking smile off your face.

  4. I think the jewerly is unique and very cool, but you would think with his money and power that he could get better hair plugs. the hair plugs he has look puffy and stringy. The picture on the mygnr page is a perfect example. Look at the picture and his hair sticks out . And when it is wet it look riduculous. His real hair was thin and free flowing. It would have been nice if he had found hair like that, and loose weight too. His weight lets me know for sure that he is no perfectionist.

  5. I doubt we'll see a new album soon, if ever.

The way Axl talked about CD in the interview, its like to him it just came out.

Sunny is right. And so is the OP. If you read between the lines of the TMS interview then you would know that Axl is still living thru CD,which is really bizarre. He also stated that he would have to see what the US audiences would do. I guess he is using this tour to gauge interest in future releases. One thing I got from him is that there is no album coming soon ,if ever. anybody who really believes an album is coming in the next three years is delusional. Everybody within the band claims they do not know if the songs will be released, which leads me to believe that Axl has communicated to them that it might never happen, or that he evades the topic all together. At 51 I do not think Axl is willing to relive another album release and all the bullshit that goes with it. It is apparent to me now that Axl never knew what the fuck he was doing. He promised a trilogy of albums, which was just a pipe dream. He also stated videos were coming, now he says he doesnt give two shits for videos. he just sits around and imagines uneccessary shit all day and people feed into it.

  6. And what's the deal with the whole "Whuh uh whuh oh yeah yeah now take mehh down uh to the paradise city" thing Axl started doing on Paradise City this year? Anyone else know what I'm talkin' about?

Yes! I thought it was out of place and it just sounds ....... weak.

  7. Couple of questions:

Does anybody know why they aren't calling this The Chinese Democracy Tour? It makes no sense considering they've got an inflatable Chairman Mao on stage.

Does anybody think Axl will start this show before the end of the baseball game?

No way Axl takes the stage until the game is either over or the game is pretty much over.

I'd actually be kind of disappointed if he took the stage before the game was over.

hahaha. It would not be interesting to the fans. but funny none the less.

    Me too

It might get interesting if the game were to go to extra innings though.

  9. I just wish people would stay on that other board since they love it so much. It bothers them that people actually enjoy this board, and that not everyone agrees with their rabid, skewed, angry, delusional view of GnR history. It bothers them that other people enjoy things besides making snarky comments about Axl 24/7.

I notice no one here retracted their statements about accusing Axl of being a liar. Typical. And it fucking shows EXACTLY what's up with the idiots who cupcake this board and Axl relentlessly. You have failed. And you will continue to fail.

Dude if you are referring to me , then you are way off base. There was no fail, because i have no agenda. Furthermore, I never accused Axl of lying. I used that title because shit like that attracts people on this board. Simple as that. As I have stated, I was just curious what people thought. I cannot imagine what cruel little world you inhabit on a daily basis that would drive you to lash out. Calm down.

  10. The girl I took to the prom 20 years ago and dated for six months ended up being a whore who cheated on me several times. She also lied a lot. Great looking girl and we did have a lot of fun together though.

But in the end, we just didn't work out. Im sure her version of the breakup would be different than mine. Her friends and family would have different versions than my friends and family.

We are both married now, so it's all good.

Hahahaha, this is so fucking true!

  11. It was assumed here that Slash was the one that lied. But we are finding out everytime something is written that he did not. They all have different variations of the story meaning time, place and exactly how etc. But the one consistent thing is that Slash and Duff were presented with papers and when they refused to sign them. It was implied to them by either Axl or his associates that Axl would not go on stage. Axl said it did not happen. Slash has said that Axl does not lie.

One of the beliefs is that Doug Goldstein actually might have conceived this plan himself and carried it off along with an assistant tour manager. It has also been widely reported that Axl no longer had much contact with Slash and Duff at the time. That he had become reclusive. So I guess it could have happened. Marc Canter has posted recently that when Slash's Mother died a couple of years ago, Doug Goldstein called him and ask him to express his sorrow to Slash and tell Slash he was sorry for the way he handled some things with the band.

In an interview last year Slash was asked if there was anyone he hated. He said he hated the old GNR management.

The bottom line is it does not matter any longer. It is done and cannot be changed.

note the comments from Marc and Slash are paraphrased because I'm to lazy to find the exact quotes.

I know it does not matter at this point. I was just wondering if anybody had read this as well, and what they think of Axl's defintive version.

  12. Interesting. However true it may be, as we know it doesn't take much for Axl to either not go on or storm off the stage, this is not something that you could prove in court...Which is obviously why it didn't hold up.

Just because their then-manager implied Axl wouldn't go on if they didn't sign, it doesn't prove any real intent on Axl's part, especially since he wasn't in the room at the time.

Seems like Axl told a half-truth when he made his "Never happened, fantasy, and fallacy..." statement here.

I agree that it was not Axl's intent per se, but he did knowing allow it and should have not made the statement he made in regards to the name. It also makes me wonder about all his other claims and if they are just half truths too. Axl represents himself as a truth teller.......

  13. Who knows, Duff is over it, Izzy is over it...

I feel the sameway. I was just curious why no one here was discussing it,and what people thought. It seems as if Slash is not saying something and Axl is not saying something ,then no one on the forum is concerned.

  14. In Duff's new book he claims that before a show in Eurpoe that Slash and him were asked to a meeting before the show by manager Doug Goldstien. Duff said this was very unusual. During this meeting management gave them papers to sign over the name GNR tp Axl. The reason was that Axl was concerned one of them was going to die during the tour and that Axl did not want to be held up in ligiation for the name if that transpired. Duff stated that nothing about death was written into the contract. It was then stated or implied that if the papers were not signed that Axl would not go on stage that night. Since this was put forth to them right before a show they agreed to sign to prevent a riot. I love Axl , but it directly conflicts with his strong denial of the story and makes me wonder how he percieves shit. I did not believe Slash, but I know Duff aint lying. Has anyone read this yet? What are peoples thoughts on Axl's version, and what does this say about his version of many other stories.

  15. a few bands have reached this level. The Stones, AC/DC, Aerosmith, I'm sure there's more, they are established rock bands but their past outweighs their present but nobody cares. Axl has really done alright in terms of making a record which at least tries to live up to the past. and the tours are great right?

Wasted how many do you think have reached the level GNR has? I say the Beattles,Stones,Zeppelin,U2, and possibly Metallica ,and for that is it. AC/DC I do not feel it.

  16. The truth about Axl is that nobody knows but him and those very, very close to him. So, everything within in this thread is speculation and alot of the threads here are pure speculation. But, it was a well thought out thread ,which most here are not.

  17. not sure what the purpose of this thread is? anyway, always wondered where Cogill got the tracks.

To me, that's still the most important unanswered question in that whole deal.

don't quote me on this, but I seem to remember when Cogill was posting here, he said something like the GNR Camp would be embarrassed if it ever came out.

I would not quote you even with a "loaded" shotgun aimed at my dick.
