  1. Nothing is wrong with his voice. He sounds fantastic. Better than 1988 and 2010 combined. Better than ever. Axl is immaculate, perfect. There is nothing to criticise. Everyone who complains about paying 250,- dollars to hear Micky Mouse making the ever same setlist sounding a bit worse with every show just HATES the band and must be ignored or banned immediately. Real fans don't citicise their favourite band, they swallow everything. If Axl ever decides to PISS on the people in the first row, that could only be considered ART and it's your own fucking problem if you don't get it. Get it? Now bend over bitches, Mickey Mouse is gonna fuck you in the jungle baby! For 250,- dollars you can get the real thing up close and personal: The one and only Mr. Chubby McSloppy & The Guys Who Aren't Buckethead, performing your favourite AC/DC tunes for ya.

  2. ^^What's wrong with it?

    Everything.

    It's a football thing....nevermind...

But seriously, I have never heard of any rock show of this magnitude ever being held at this venue, not even in this town. What could this mean? Chaotic organisation, horrible sound? It doesn't have to be like this but the place sure is not known to be the mecca of rock concerts in Germany. But all of a sudden they book Guns N' Roses of all bands to play there? I smell bullshit. And a no show, if Axl has a bad day.

AHA, Supertramp, Sting, Bryan Adams and Shakira were there before so it's not that all of a sudden. Maybe not the best examples but no reason for me to stay home.

Tomorrow I'll buy tickets for Rotterdam and Mönchengladbach...

and about that football thing....Rotterdam sucks even more :rofl-lol:

you got a point with the football thing lol

anyway, the shows yes, but from wgat i heard they all had bad sound there and we all know how picky axl is with sound so...

let's just hope for the best

  3. Heres what I would do / love to see:

Open with This I Love / Coma / Welcome To The Jungle (in this order).

Estranged not so early in the set

    Civil War the first encore.

Drop IRS, Chinese, Easy, Street Of Dreams, Brownstone for Breakdown, Locomotive, Catcher or Prostitute.

Drop the solos and covers for a little acoustic set in the middle of the show. Bring guests for that and that only.

End with just one new unheard song right before Paradise City.

Yeah, I know. But one can dream, right?

Sorry, here's the english translation: GLADBACH SUCKS!

  6. Stop whining.

In Europe tickets (and travelling!) much more expensive than in the US.

And we don't even get club shows like The Ritz.

125 dollars sure is money but you know what you get in return and there are plenty of other chances to see the band too.

So attend or not attend but stop bitching.

  8. Hey Axl if you read this, what's it with the end of the world thing and all that? Are you a prepper? If the world ends in 2012, would you like to see what comes after the apocalypse, in like sticking around, trying to rebuild? Does this whole shit affect the way you look at music? Do you think it gets worse before it gets better? Have you read the prophecies? If so, what do you think of them? Do you think there is a meaning to your existence and if so what would that be? What's your motivation anyway?

  9. I don't know how much they make.

    But let's do the math...

The record was supposed to be what 13 million in expenses? And that's probably not even counting the side expenses like travelling, girls, dope. The label paid for most of the sessions but the record didn't make enough for the contracted payback. Now they want their money back. That plus the lawsuits. Why do you think the "band" is whoring out to Best Buy? Selling VIP passes to their fans? Touring and touring and touring? Playing exclusive shows to rich saudis and russians? They need the money.

Richard has a family, yet he plays in two bands, basically touring back to back. Plus endorsements, gear reviews, music for video games and stuff. So unless he's a total workaholic, his salary in Guns must be quite underwhelming. DJ is a 39 year old emo kid - nuff said. Wealthy background or attention whore. Probably both. Doesn't look like he's in the band for the money. Ron can't even afford decent treatment for his injury. Dizzy? Chris? LOL! Beta gets more than these guys.

Don't kid yourself. Not one of these guys is an actual "star" like Axl.

"Hi, I'm Jimmy Hiredhand from Guns N' Roses". Take away the "from Guns N' Roses" part and what's left? There's your salary.

  10. I just got my 6 Guns N' Roses albums which I bought through two weaks ago..(AFD; Lies; UYI I n' II; TSI?; CD) and I'm so happy that I'm goin' mad. My family are already angry of noise which I'm making at home. I've a question.. Am I wacky? :rofl-lol::heart:rock3:lol:

Listening to all of them for the first time (?) wich one do you like best? Favourite songs that stand out to you, aside fromt the hits like Sweet Child?

  11. Robin Finck and Buckethead likely wrote ten times as many songs for Guns. Look what ended up on the record.

DJ is a tool, the new kid in town. Unless he bought himself into the band, what's the point of actually USING so much of his material? It sure can't be the cheesy 1980's guitaring.

  12. And watchman is truly 'one in a million' standing out in a sea of idiots.

Does that about sum it up?

What if I am one in a million and accepted myself that way, out of the majority, not part of a concept. Free. Will you label me insane, not part of the community, not worthy of anyones attention then? Or will you just let me be and practise the concept of "my liife is as valuable as yours" that you are implying to support with your passive agressive reaction towards my not so liberal attitude? Whenever someone uses "one in a million" the way you do, it comes across as if they heard "we're all equal", "can't argue taste" and "everyone's opinion matters as much as the other one" so often that they started to believe the concept of democracy. But that very concept is the source of evil where leaders have to follow and the good and strong have to assimilate down to the bad and weak in order to survive, not the other way around. The truth is, there is only light or darkness, right or wrong, illusion or reality, creation or construction. People are free to choose and for most this is simply too much, so they go with something in between, the shades of grey that make us all sick. So what if I am one in a million? Will you take that chance or just let it pass like so many other chances in your life? What does one in a million actually mean to you?

  13. 2002 was my favourite lineup ever. I loved how they sounded, the mix of styles and personalities blending into something dark, expressive and unique. It was actual art, not just a brand.

I remember the majority of the fanbase taking the piss at "weirdo" Buckethead for playing with "no feeling", mainly just because he wasn't playing blues scales all the time like almost every other guitarist out there. And the one who WAS playing blues - Robin Finck - was not appreciated either, largely for not sounding and playing exactly like Slash. The fact that he plays and sounds like David Gilmour on ecstasy doesn't matter - he didn't sound like Slash, so why pay attention? Besides, most of the Guns "fanbase" doesn't even know who David Gilmour is anyway.

Those people must either be forever stuck in the 80's/90's (hence the ongoing reunion or Axl/Cobain debates - do you ever live TODAY or what?) or spoonfed whatever they consider "art" or "rock and roll" according to the distorted picture the media has painted in their conditioned and sedated minds. Unfortunately, the majority of Guns audience is like that. They want "It's So Easy", not "Breakdown". They want "Scraped", not "Catcher In The Rye". Those people are the reason for mainstream music sucking ass. And it's those people who brought us American Idol, Lady Gaga and DJ Cashba. I've been to many Guns shows and I would not want to have a chat or a beer with 90% of the fellow audience ever. If Guns made a Karma check at their shows, they'd be playing to 100 people per night.

Now more people are praising both Robin Finck and Buckethead because they think they finally "get" them. They will never get them as long as they waste valuable lifetime with DJ Ashba and Ron "The Tom Cruise Of Rock" Thal. The biggest achievement of DJ Ashba in Guns so far was probably to show everyone the balls, spine and greatness of Robin Finck and in that the difference between an true artist and a run of the mill poser. And the biggest thing Ron will ever do in Guns is being the approachable next door dude who can play guitar. Great. Is that what you go to a show for, what you want to look up to, waht axctually INSPIRES? I don't think so, unless you lead a truly piss poor life. I have to cut these guys some serious slack though for the patience with Axl and for sticking around for such an unworthy fanbase full of idiots.

Sorry for the rant but 2002 is ten fucking years ago and where are now with this band? It's over. It's beyond over. And it makes me sad because I love this band and what it once stood for. But the reality is Axl is the captain of a sinking ship. And not much else.

Appreciate what is now, warm yourself to the fire rather than contemplating the fucking ashes, because, at the end of the day, that's all we do round here. What a waste of energy.

  14. Richard was supposed to be the LEAD guitarist of Guns N' Roses until Buckethead joined. So much for his "skills". He's very, very underrated. He's got a lot of soul and substance as a guitarist and that's just the kind of person he is - that can be said about any guitar player in Guns. DJ's all surface and in many ways the total opposite of Richard. Bucket's often weird sounds and his comfort zone scales also reflect his persona - extreme but also kinda one dimensiional. Robin is a free spirit, a ghost, a child - unboxable - and that's just how he plays and sounds. And Ron, well he's the Tom Cruise of rock lol. So you pick what you like best. At the end of the day, they are all technically skilled in their own way but you have to appreciate them for what they are. I like Richard and enjoy his playing a lot in Guns. I'd love to hear more of him. However, I think he clicked best with Robin Finck.

Buckethead joined the band two years before Fortus.

Richard auditioned in 1999. It was undecided at the time. If Buckethead had not signed just a couple of weeks later, Richard would have taken Buckethead's position. He was the wildcard.

  16. Listened to CD in its entireness the other day, haven't been paying much attention to the lyrics in a while, but this time I did.

Some of the lyrics are insanely awesome and well written, like Catcher or Prostitute, but most is just plain depressing.

Better is quite upbeat musically but the lyrics? TWAT? Sorry? Everything so cold, dark and depresssing!!!

I think it's impossible to write or appreciate honest and meaningful stuff without also going to a dark place in your soul, but at the end of the day, is that what you want to give to the world, your dark place?

If there is a next record, I'm hoping for more upbeat, positive lyrics to inspire people.

Just have a look at the lyrics of "Breakdown" from UYI II for example and compare these to any of the lyrics on CD. It's another person, another time, another planet. Changes, I know, but should we give in to the dark side or keep striving and let our light shine?

What kind of lyrics do you hope/expect for the next album?

  17. I think it's pretty cool to offer those live streams, but for the money they charge I'd rather have a decent concert DVD, even for twice or three times the money - if it's a good DVD, like in HD, best audio/video quality, bonus features, interviews, guitar lessons...you get the idea.

The streams just don't do much for me. I find most YouTube clips a lot more intresting that these streams.

Besides, I'm not gonna sit and wait for Axl to feel like it when I'm at home. It's ok though annoying every once in a while when I go to a show but not in my fucking living room lol. With the tradition and reputation of late starts, the live stream idea is going to be a commercial trainwreck anyway, at least for this band.

So how about a good old fashioned DVD? Would anyone else be intrested?
