  1. Arguing the "Greatest" or "Worst" of anything won't accomplish....well, anything. Same when terms like "overrated" get thrown around. They don't mean anything because everyone's scale is bound to be different so attempting to come to a consensus and rule one way or another on it is a fool's errand, Fun to read, though.

As for favorite album? Yes, CD was my favorite album of the decade. It would be a lie to say that the mystique & intrigue surrounding it did not play a factor. Love how massive and grandiose the album is. You have to listen multiple times to even scratch the surface. Fuck, I didn't even know Sebastian Bach was on Sorry until much later! Lol you know, it's intense. This wall of sound, this force of nature unleashing upon the world. It's what you expect from an album that reaches mythical status before the public hears the first note.

Another aspect I love is how divisive this album is to people. There's no real in-between here, it's praise or scorn. Perfect example is on iTunes: there are several times more reviews for CD than there are for AFD. People are passionate about this album, it's great! It's a talking point that's well into its second decade of existence and still going strong.

To each their own, at the end of the day--

    TL;DR Cliff's Notes:

-CD is my favorite album of the 2000's

-It's overwhelming in sound, but in a good way. It inspires repeat listening.

-I love how vocal people are about CD, either for or against.

-Overrated, Greatest or Worst don't mean anything. Everyone's scale is different.

-To each their own. Don't ever change, MyGNRForum!

  2. Slash coming across as aloof & too-cool-for-school? The Hell, you say....

Lol, this is nothing. Slash being Slash, same as every interview ever. Any particular bit of news even tangentially related to Guns gets dissected & scrutinized to an absurd degree. It's the nature of hardcore fan forums. Looking for something big or important that may not even exist to begin with.

Was the "what's his name" bit a tad malicious? No idea, but I'll say probably not. Slash is not getting back with Guns or Axl, Duff is more open to working with them in whatever capacity, Slash & Duff are different people with different opinions. We all knew this going in, carry on--

  3. Rick, man, thank you so much for letting us join in on the fun! Very cool of you to do, made my (and quite a few others, it seems) night!

Awesome show, really hope Bumble doesn't leave but if it is his last ride with these last two shows of the residency then at least it's going out on a high note.

20 to 6 in the AM, too hyped to sleep. Good times, Great Memories, stoked that you got something extra special tonight--

  4. Show was awesome yet again! I popped HUGE for Riff Raff, didn't expect that. Show experience was even better than the first show on account I was in the first 2 or so rows of people right next to the stage. Band was having a great time, Axl was all smiles throughout the night, moved around a lot (much to the bane of camera, still got some cool shots though) and sounded awesome! Just a blast of an atmosphere. This may very well trump the Sunday show for me. Just all-around excitement, even the opener (Delta Rose) were really good! So glad I got to see both shows. Well worth the time N' dime.

I hope you guys that are going to the next few shows have as a good tome as I have or even better. Strongly considered changing my flight home just to catch a third show, man, but gotta roll back to reality eventually, eh?

    Take it easy--

  5. If we're going with outlandish predictions, I'll say:

    Madagascar

    Patience

    Paradise City

    Livin' Dangerously, I see--

    It's called realism.

    ...can't say I'm a fan--

Not enough outlandish predictions in here....

Oh My God leads off the encore, then to TWAT, then Locomotive....

    Callin' it--

Don't forget Yesterdays, The Garden and The General.

Bringing it on home with Bring It Back Home, Ain't Goin' Down and big finish.......MY WORLD~!

  6. seriously...people that say this is awesome...go listen to the originals...this band (BBF, Ashba, FF etc) sounds awesome, but admit it..Axl sounds NOTHING like everyone would hope he would. I keep waiting for him to sound like I want him to...and as I grow older myself, and slow down, I realize, he isn't ever going to sound like we want him to...Same as Mick...and you all know who I mean... I would rather listen to the old albums and bootlegs than this...its too bad...I love him to bits, but this is painful...every live appearance (PPV, Bridge, RIR, This) it just confirms where he is at...its sad, but we have to accept it...oh well, I guess I will take my old man ass and listen to Appetite the way its supposed to be played.

I still like current GN'R and Axl Rose...I understand he doesn't sound the way he used to but I like the way he sounds today as much as I like the way he sounded then because it's about the music to me and not about comparing how things were to how they are now. Everyone has different taste though, if you prefer the old school GN'R to today, or even like the current band but don't like how Axl Rose sounds, I'm not sure why you're here in this topic haha.

Touche...good point...I guess I am hoping for the old Axl, and I guess I have to come to grips that its not going to happen...but good points...the reason I am here, is because I so dearly want to hear him shred it for a couple hours...one more time... honestly, not trying to be one of the haters...just want to hear the old axl again...but that last cover..he sound great...and then I hear him hear Neil...and man...

When it comes down to it, we're all GN'R fans, no matter what iteration of it. I don't know if you'll ever get what you're looking for but I hope you do. I'm content with what I have, so I can't complain. I'm pretty pleased with the setlist...I'm hoping for some TWAT tonight, personally.

DJ FUCKED UP CIVIL WAR OMG OMG OMGOMGGGGGGG

Oh shit, happy fucking birthday DJ.

I hear you brother...glad you are enjoying it...I am hearing glimpses that I am loving...but honestly, for everyone who is loving it, thats what it i about!!!! Enjoy it, love it! I wish I could have the old Axl back, but if ppl are loving it, and experiencing it for the first time, Good for them, goood for you...I sincerely mean that....if you are loving it, dont care if others (like me) don't!

    ....you're alright, dude--

Bye-bye N' Buy Bonds....leave the best & the rest to have their fun. There's the door, brother--
