  1. OK so it looks like Axl and Merck were bullshitting.

After positive reviews of the leaks and a sucessful European tour and great concert reviews you'd have thought the time was finally right for the album release.

What else are they waiting for the fecking planets to align?

Is Jarmo going to delete every thread and ban the entire community?

Are management going to expect the fans to swallow another "it's not 2006 but its... soon".

Oh yeah and will the media will even further ridicule the project?

i asked at the FYE record store today and they just laughed. He said highlyunlikely this year. Im getting really fed up myself.

  2. the new beatles?what kind of kool-aid are some of you new gnr fans drinking my god

Funny that that question came up. I saw Gnr back in may at the Hammerstien. I was entranced. I love gnr or rather Axl

Ive been around for 45 years and am a huge beatles fan. I always said that GnR are comparable to the beatles and they are modern day Beatles. But that is the Old GnR , they had the potential to become just that. Axl was so hot, (i dont mean physically) that Mick, Tom petty , alice cooper, elton john...... all did duets with this man. What upstart gets to do that???

The new Gnr is great but i compare them to lets say Wings or the Lennon Plastic Ono band. One star and good support that will never match the original. Anyways that is MY opinion!

  3. Yo, lay off the opium dude. I can't see a guy who throughout his whole career saying "Fuck you bitch" making a masterpiece like fuckin Mozart. The guy was 28 when UYI's came out. Over a decade later he's 40 somethin playing the same songs from 91 and a few new tunes. Plus he's still dosn't show up for shows (Philly 02 I was there), gettin in fights, biting cops the list goes on. I love Axl seen him in NYC this year, great shit. His masterpiece was Appitite and he and all Guns fans need to face the music and realize that. I'll buy the new album and I'm sure it will be great(Personally I think Better is the best by far) but it will never live up to the past albums. The original Guns could get back togeather and it still wouldn't top the shit from the past. It was magic back then, they hade the love, talent , youth, they were there at the right time. The world ain't lookin for a 40 somethin rebel. In my opinion if Axl wasn't like Hitler and ruined it all Guns N' Roses could have been the next Rolling Stones and still sell out stadiums in the USA (Key word U.S.A.)

It seems so many forget that Axl is reportedly Bipolar! This is a complicated disease with a Plethura of symptoms. Axl seems Medicated and calm this round. If he was intoxicated when he bit the security guard remember bipolar , meds, and alcohol dont really mix well.

Weird about the biting though, Mike tyson is also Bipolar and he bit Holyfields ear off. Guess its good those two dont "get in the ring" together. Peace all. Axl still rules!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  4. I have to say I thought Axl really looked and sounded like he was at the top of his game during the RIR show. I can't ever remember seeing him sing with such confidence, vocal consistency, and well-timed stage moves as he did tonight. This was definitely a different Axl from the one we saw in 2002.

His voice remained solid from start to finish - His voice didn't go into "helium" mode - which seems to happen when he gets tired or stressed - at all this evening! It was solid. *I know many people have complained about the sound of the streamed show -- but folks that's the AOL feed/mix -- NOT the way the show sounded in Lisbon.*

I thought Axl was energetic - but carefully chose his moments to run from one end of the stage to the other so that it didn't affect his vocals. (This was a far cry from RIR four years ago - when he just randomly ran around the stage through the whole show, knocking over cameramen and bumping into other bandmembers, and generally tiring his voice out). He's learned that he can be energetic and charismatic without running around during the entire show. I find the "new" Axl plays "with" his bandmates more than the old Axl: There's a chemistry there that wasn't there four years ago.

He's also clearly listened to what fans have been saying and complaining about - everything from his clothes (I counted at least three different changes of clothes - which I'm guessing is to address the whiners who started multiple threads asking if Axl owned any other clothes. ) - to the comment, where he imitated fans who were complaining that he wasn't doing any rants. Pretty funny.

Did anyone else find that he seemed genuinely - dare I say - happy out there? His moves were animated and concise, his voice solid, and nothing seemed to upset him. There was almost a cerebral calmness in his eyes, which I don't ever remember seeing before - not even at the Hammerstein shows. Awesome.

Sorry for the long rant ...

Your thoughts? Do you see a "new" Axl? One who's in top form?

I thinks its called Lamictal (a mood stabilizer) Axls bipolarity is now under control so he indeed seems happier!!

  5. the way axl sings he needs to drink a lot of water. His raspy sound comes from his throat, only way to keep it is to keep drinking as much as he can, he never really sang with his lungs, it was his rasp that made him awesome. And he's older now, so it's a bit different than 15 years ago.

And yeah if you thought he meant alcohol you are a jackass.. And axl isnt "almost 40" hes like 44. quite a difference.

the way that post was written it looked like he meannt alcohol. i made an error so blow me all of you who attacked me for reading something wrong. asswipes!

  6. Anyone who claims that Axl sounds the same as he did in 2002 is a fucking idiot.

Axl sounds amazing tonight! It's like night and day bewteen now and 2002. Gone is the mickey mouse voice and back is the fucking powerhouse crotch on barbed wire vocals that can makes many an ear drum bleed.

Welcome back Axl...WE FUCKING LOVE YOU!

    Amen to that

  7. , and couldn't wait to get a drink off stage (hence the amazing amount of solos).

And what makes you think he drinks during that time? Where you there? Axl even stated on a radio show how alcohol screws up his voice so he stays away from it. I hate these dumb assumptions.

  8. any1?????

any1????? i was in mezz one on sunday night. started in line at 4:30 pm. well worth it because i got to pick whatever seat i wanted in mezz one. i dont believe the floor slants so if you are in the back you may have a problem , im not sure. if you get in line around 4 to 5 pm youll also be in the front on the floor but remember axl wont come out till 11 or so. to me it was worth every minute of inconvienence.

wear earplugs for BFMV they are heavy and loud. Personally i think they were ok.

As far as the actual GNR show it was one of the greatest nights in my life. and the crowd was one of the nicest ive ever been in. Even the guys in front of me took a handicapped fellow from the floor section, carried him up to mezz and let him sit in thier seats while they rotated standing. I had to ask some big dude to move because he cut in front of my view, he apologized and knelt down so we could see. It was fantastic in every sense.

    Enjoy folks

    Pete

  9. I would love to see you say these things to my face. Happily for you, there is a computer protecting you.

I always have to laugh at internet tough people. If the guy said it to your face and you touched him you'd be arrested for battery. If you are neanderthal enough to get THAT defensive about all that , then evolution has just not progressed you quite far enough yet.

BTW didnt you do the caveman gieco commercial!

I too think its unfair for people to horde tickets just because "someone else would do it anyways" is also poor logic. Someone else will always do something we shouldnt do.doesnt give us the right to do it though.

Anyways my 2 tickets didnt arrive yet either. Hope no one beats me up a rock3 t the show!! LOL rock3

    [

  10. the best ticket i can get now is 150 bucks in the mezz. just wondering if it is worth buying

how much did you guys pay??

I paid 170. a ticket and yes to me its worth it. You can blow 170 on food , a woman, a night of partying, you name it . after youve spent it you can probably do it all again.

How many times can you spend 170.00 to to the greatest of all time. and have a memory of a lifetime? Is it worth it??? You bet it is!!!! rock3

Can you have a cell phone in your pocket if it has video capability, if you dont take it out or use it????

  11. Ive been a fan since gnr started way back. I was in the army at the time. They summerize my life back then. Thank God i moved to nY becuase i have access to big events.

I got 2 tickets 1st mezz for the 14th. im wondering if a am allowed to have my cellphone becuase it has a video feature or as long as i have it in my pocket they wont do anything??????

    peace to all

    Pete
