  1. In a perfect world Axl would use this break or after it to get healthier and fitt body and voice for a new album and  the band would be there working on new songs and preparing themselves for a glorius new album and tour. I mean this tour from 2016? To now has been history because of the reunion but for me the performances were not even close as good as 2010 and nothing like 92. But good to see it.

I don't know what the future may hold, but I do want to give Glastonbury a mention. I tuned in fearing the worst, but instead got probably the most enjoyable night of the reunion.

After years of Axl kinda hiding behind the hats and the glasses (2010-2014), and appearing on autopilot from 2017/8 onwards it was amazing to see him so full of energy again. There he was, my childhood hero had returned. Out front, running about, giving his absolute all. I don't know what changed but on this tour Axl seemed to get his mojo back. That fire in his eyes that had been missing for years was back.

Sure his voice isn't what it once was but I have to give him credit for the effort he has put in this tour

His voice wtf happened to his voice fron 2010 to now. Can you imagine him singing now liken2010

I don't know either. Shackler's chorus is some very basic (and super overused in pop music nowadays) chord progression, tho. Doesn't sound much like a Bucket thing to me, but IDK.

I remember Axl Saying that the band thought the album needed a fast song. But i cant tell you when but for sure not 99 or 00... would be more 2005 or 2006. Was added to the album at the end

From the songs on CD: the vocals on Shackler's Revenge were definitely recorded after 2003 because of the subject matter of the lyrics. Also the vocals on Better, Sorry, Scraped and This I Love were recorded after 2000 for sure, most likely 2002 or later.

From the leaks: The vocals This I Love remix. Monsters/Soul Monster vocals were also most likely recorded after 2003 (Axl said he recorded them "on a Christmas Eve" and I think a forum member found that there was a studio booked at Christmas 2004 - Axl was also in the studio during the holidays in 2006).

Shackler as i remember was a new song and theast song added to CD the band tought that a fast so ng was needed.cant remember if ashba was in the band in that song but for sure was a new song

I'm sure some people may say CITR, OMG, Better, CD, Perhaps, Prostitute. There is a little bit of everything for everyone depending on the style of music you like from GnR.

I'm going to go with... yes. Not that it's my favorite song to listen to, but I did think TWAT was the "best" of the CD era and by a good margin. I think Monsters edges it out by not retreading the lost love trope a lot of the GnR epics seem to be based around. It's like you merging the outro of Coma with some dark introspective Axl lyrics and then adding on all the CD era hallmarks. It's a damn good song.

    And SOD. Amazing vocals

I think when it comes to the new songs it depends what mood you're in.

I've said before that when I need a quick shot of venomous energy I blast Absurd on my headphones. It does what's needed, intro is electrifying and then that drum roll. Even the breakdown is needed. You can't help but pull the face Axl does at Rio 2011 where he's looking side to side waiting for it to come back in. Then it blasts back on to kick ass for another minute or so. Those spikey guitar leads, Duff's little bass fill. It's brilliant. Appetite for Destruction for the 22nd century. Love it.

Give that version of absurd that you are listening. Mine its like listening to a homeless  speach shouting to thr sky

I feel it's still so I underappreciated. For me it was the UYI grandiosity combined with drum loops and electronics. It's classic rock and modern at the same time and I'm no Axl worshipper but I think CD and the leftovers are true works of genius. It's nothing but frustrating to still hear people go "I played it once, load of crap, no slash".

As if somehow it's all out of tune, off key, badly recorded... It's crazy to me someone can hear Madagascar or Better or Catcher and just turn it off going "rubbish".

The General is gonna take a bit of time to sink in fully but I think this suite of the two halves is gonna be my favourite out of the CD era.

I love CD madagascar, this i love, twat i think i like the whole album less rhiad scrapped and if the world.

the general/monsters TWAT prostitue madgascar are much more my modern gnr vibe. But i think they still need to do the odd rock song. I'd like an album of 8 minute+ epics. They should do an acoustic album for sure

For me sounds totally out of time. Some people said that of CD back in 2007? 2008? For me sounds good. But.....its nearly 20 years since maybe axl recorded that songs

Oh, we're doing rankings of these songs. Here's mine:

    The General and Monsters 9

As one song I absolutely love this epic track. It's not perfect. There's some small things here and there that I'm not a fan of. But as a whole it's pretty much a masterpiece. I expect the final released version of The General to sound less muddy.

    Hard Skool 8

It's an awesome old school rocker. Nobody makes music like this these days which is a terrible shame. It's super catchy and I love almost everything about it. It's a pretty simple song though, which is why I can't give it a perfect score. It had potential to be a masterpiece, but it would have needed a bit more meat on the bones.

    Monsters 7

It's difficult for me to rank these as separate songs, since I don't really view them that way. And I don't actually know which one I like more out of these two songs. Monsters is perhaps the more consistently good song, but it doesn't hit me emotionally as hard as The General does.

    The General 7

This song is stuck in my head. I love the disturbing lyrics. But I'm not a big fan of the "Don't know what to tell you now" -part and there's some other minor gripes that I have with this song. Emotionally speaking The General touches my soul more than Monsters does. Both of these songs feel incomplete without the other, which is why I prefer them as one song.

    Absurd 7

The lyrics are very simple, but this song has amazing energy. My hot take is that I actually love the guitars on this song probably most out of all these new songs. The guitars fit the song perfectly. Absurd is astronomically much better than Silkworms.

    Perhaps 6

It's a good song with great lyrics and melodies. But after the middle point, the song kinda just repeats itself, so for me it's the most uninteresting out of these songs.

Mother of god a 9  absurd 7....so estranged, you could be mine mrbrownstone and rocketqueen what they have a two thousand?

Most of the songs there are close to my world and shotgunblues. I ll go for perhaps but with a 6 and hardskool a 5. Absurd?  1 soul and the general? I dont know now what it really is, but i dont like it at all.

I really hope axl and the band finish all this leftovers maybe atlas sounds good and going down. And start to create new music from the starts. I love CD i love it and the band like the 90s. But this new songs are bad.

So we now have five songs from cd2:

Hard Skool (Jackie Chan/ Checkmate/ No Love Remains/ Hard School)

    Absurd (Silkworms)

    Perhaps

    The General

Monsters (Leave Me Alone/ Elvis Presley & the Monster of Soul/ Soul Monster)

Hopefully we also get Atlas, Seven and Berlin (Oklahoma) at some point.

And most of them are not even close to awesome songs. The best is perhaps and its a 6.5
