I wouldn't be surprised if they skip The General tonight given that Melissa's not there. Not saying they definitely will skip it, but it would make a bit more sense if they did

Yeah that just occurred to me too!...think her absence could effect it being played, I hope not but could definitely factor into whether it does or not.

  2. IN the UK, always an up late kinda person, was just about to go to bed (and kidna looking forward to it) then saw this was happening.....final night of the tour....GOTTA watch. (or at least up until SCOM/November Rain kinda place of set). ..REALLY hoping for proshot of Perhaps and The General. ...Love though that 30 mins ago I had zero idea this was even happening.

  3. I dont even think it;ll be mentioned, it'll be a non event in terms of them doing anything tonight, at least I;d love if they just put out the official version to get ahead of the leaks. ....but most other bands would think "F-It..lets play it live and put it online too tonight, cats outta the bag anyways.' but as we all know...Guns aint the normal kinda band. lol

Thats awesome man. crazy to be feelin' this all over again xD its like that really abusive but fun relationship you had with that one girl in your early 20s. Fond memories of the fun times but GAWD was it a struggle xD

Amen!..LOVED that place, had a cool downloads section on the site too that had live version of 'The Blues' etc etc.  Awesome and exciting times!

  5. This would actually be extremely upsetting if it wasnt all so boringly predictable,

Anybody else just assume that this band are gonna F it up just to soften the blow for when it inevitably does?...because lets face it, they ALWAYS do!...has any band or it's management consistently dropped the ball as much as GNR?

The apathy they seem to treat their loyal and dedicated fanbase (which to be honest they are lucky to have at times) is kinda sociopathic (state of bliss ;-) ) at times.....they dont even acknowledge our existence, how hard is it to just let us know whats happening and keep an open dialogue, EVERY other band of this size (Metallica, Foos, Green Day etc) are all brilliant in updating their fans and doing awesome stuff to keep things fresh, I've accepted Guns arent always that way, but they could at least let us know when stuff like this is gonna go down and not treat us as they burden they have to endure...in an "Oh no, my fans want us to address them"

Would love if (as other bands would do) they could just be cool as F and just post it on streaming services for all of us tomorrow....but we ALL know that will never happen. ...and around and round we go on this GNR merry-go-round.

  6. It still has some killer tunes on but it doesnt have the Bite that Contraband has, and I remember when I first heard 'She Builds Quick Machines' thinking..."It's not that this is a bad song, but it sounds so formulaic of every generic Slash riff I've heard before" ...Just felt very paint by numbers, was still catchy though, I HATED the music video though, so damn cheesy!

I think Eddies Earthling record could have been so much better and I am absolutely no fan of the whole "put as many guest stars as possible on a record" approach he obviously has, so I wouldn't really look forward to a GNR album produced by him.

Hell, I am anxiously awaiting the new PJ one and praying to every God available that he didn't put any Autotune over Eddie's voice, like he did with Ozzy and even Mick Jagger.

oh yeah I have definitely noticed the whole "put as many guests as possible" on the album approach, cant help but notice that, a GNR album....with drums by Chad Smith! ;-)

  8. So I was thinking the other day about big in name producers and the one name everybody seems to want to work with these days is Andrew Watt...back in the day in the 90's and early 00's it was Rick Rubin or Brendan O Brien, Gil Norton etc who were the in demand rock producers of the time, but now it's Andrew Watt, if you dont know him he originally started off in Pop doing work with Bieber etc....but now has built up an impressive resume of Rock records under his belt...In the last few years he has done:

-The 2 most recent Ozzy Osbourne records (Ordinary Man, Patient No.9)

    -Eddie Vedder's album 'Earthling'

    - Iggy Pop's latest album 'Every Loser

    - Post Malone's new album 'Austin'

    - and of course the new Rolling Stones album that came out Friday 'Hackney Diamonds'

He is also working with Pearl Jam on on their new/upcoming album where the band have all talked about how much they are loving what they have done with him and what an amazing experience it's been.

So I was thinking he obviously knows Duff quite well as Duff played on the Ozzy and Iggy record he did, and  I cant envision a world where they havnt at least discussed what Guns plans are even if on a very surface non business kinda way...just shooting the s**t in between session work.

Wouldnt it make a lot of sense for Axl, Slash & Duff to try and arrange some session time with him and strike whilst the iron is hot, not overthink it...,...work from scratch abandon anything from Chi-Dem era and just go and see what they can come up with together, maybe even in a GNR Lies kinda approach...just work up the tunes together all in the same room and get the creative juices flowing and see what they can work up.

Does a new GNR album by Andrew Watt interest you and do you think the finished result could be something special?

Any chance of Axl going on Joe Rogan's show since he's in Texas? huh

Lets face it, THAT is just too good to be true, I think I'd like that just as much as a new album, and thats precisely why i dont think It'll ever happen, such a shame too...because Axl's long form interviews where he gets to show off his sense of humour etc are the best, I think I have re-listened to that Eddie trunk spontaneous walk in interview from 2006 at least 10 times.
